Even though “Hoddmimisholt” is the name of a place from ancient Norse mythology, this track makes me think of a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It actually makes me want to play the first two Fallout games.
@@DespondentDoomer23 The first two ones are top-down RPG’s, similar to Baldur’s Gate. You might find them difficult to get into if you’re not used to that genre. With Fallout 3, the series turned into a Shooter/RPG, with controls that are very similar to Skyrim. My favourite one, Fallout: New Vegas, is considered to be the best Fallout game by many fans. But it isn’t the most “polished” one. It can be quite clunky at times. So you might just want to start with the latest game which is Fallout 4. It really depends on what you want, so it’s up to you.
@@DespondentDoomer23 If you like RPGs, you might want to start with New Vegas. Everyone says it has a good balance of RPG and action elements. Plus, ghouls glow in that one too, lol.
"The romantic image of the ancient world is very inspiring, as is nature itself, but I think the dissatisfaction with our modern world is the strongest force keeping me going." That's tough. Dissatisfaction with modernity only made me give up. People are lonely, people are careless, people are simple and complex at one time. But when I think about ancient times, I realise, that we used to live in small comunities, where people are not lonely, most of them cared for each other and lived in a clean nature. It sounds like a paradise to me, but here comes the realization, that in our world we can choose to stay alone or to socialise, but they didn't have such a choise. It was impossible to keep a secret or have some privacy. Also, diseases. We have the best life conditions. Conditions, ancient man couldn't even dream about. And yet many people suffer all around the world, **sometimes even physically**. We changed happy but hard times to sad but easy life. Was it worth it?..
Thats true, we should live simple life but we cannot, we can only wait for the collapse of this sick society. I think we all see this as "normal" and I really don't think it has to be. There are so many subcultures which lead happy and fulfilling lives that don't revolve around one person's dream to live a better life than everyone else (and everyone sharing that common delusion). I genuinely feel like Capitalism is a lie that was sold to poor people by the rich to deceive them into believing that they, too, have a chance to be rich, if they work as hard as possible to make the rich richer. We should all know better - we can't all be rich. Is this really who we want to be? Do we really want to live better than everyone else? Are we so selfish?
Unfortunately, maybe we are all selfish. It's just our instincts. They played on our instincts in 17-18 centuries, by promising us many money, that we ALL can earn, and played on them in 20 century, be promising us equal life to all, which is pretty utopic and unreal too. Every one of us wish to live better, than most. Yes, the view of a "good life" differs from person to person, but we all want to live better. And, unfortunately, many people nowadays see good life as a rich life. It's the simplest position: "I have many money -> I have cool car like in those cool music videos -> I can live in a big house like in a Hollywood films -> My life is good". That primitive position makes it even easier to manipulate them.
This is perfect
