trivia: the guy playing leatherface in the scene where he is on the back of the van is Tom Morga. Tom played Roy Burns in Friday the 13th 5, as well as the real Jason during hallucinations and he also played Michael Myers in the gas station scene of Halloween 4. So he has played all 3 of the masked killers.
@@kevinmetalandhorrorexperie8554 Nope. Bill Johnson only did the eye closeups and hand gestures. Bob Elmore did all the chainsaw stuff and Tom Morga did this scene.
Leatherface's first scene in part 2. I always thought this Leatherface seemed more angrier than part 1. But as we find out (later in the film), he also has a soft side. Leatherface is a complex individual.
I love this scene the hints to the hitch hiker the music the build up and the fact that leatherface in this movie spawns the biggest saw on a moving vehicle out of nowhere while pretending to be a dead body of someone in his family this scene is wild.
"On the afternoon of August 18, 1973, five young people in a Volkswagon van ran out of gas on a farm road in South Texas. Four were never seen again. The next morning, the one survivor, Sally Hardesty-Enright was picked up on a roadside. Bloodcaked and screaming murder. Sally said she had broken out of a window in Hell. The girl babbled a mad tale: a cannibal family in a isolated farmhouse...chainsawed fingers and bones...her brother, her friends hacked up for barbecue...chairs made of human skeletons...Then she sank into catatonia. Texas lawmen mounted a month-long manhunt, but could not locate the macabre farmhouse, they could find no killers, and no victims. No facts, no crime. Officially, on the records, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre never happened. But during the last 13 years over and over again reports of bizarre, grisly chainsaw mass-murders has persisted all across the state of Texas. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has not stopped, it haunts Texas. It seems to have no end."
That doesn't make sense when you think about it. If the Texas Chainsaw Massacre didn't happen than what about the truck driver who witnessed it? What about the cook who ran the gas station, don't they have records on him? What about where the truck that was sidelined when it's right next to the house? What about the van? NONE OF THIS ADDS UP to saying "no facts, no crime."
@J W / Also, didn't any of these lawmen think to talk to the pickup truck driver who rescued Sally? Pretty important since it happened at the front of the family's driveway. Another minor issue is that the van wasn't a Volkswagen. It was a Ford. Faults and all, I still love this movie and is the only true sequel in the series.
Very creative how they did the marionette thing before showing the explosive all out attack in the end showing Leatherface saying "All right enough of this!"
I love this movie. It is funny but, this scene especially, Is creepy as all hell. I feel so bad for rick when he looks over to see his bud buzz, had his head sawed in half. But it gets really creepy when leatherface is wearing nubbins the hitchhiker from the first movie. And leatherfaces chainsaw is long so it can cut the poor boys car
@@drewharry88 LOL yeah I wonder how many times they had to drive that same tiny stretch to film the entire scene. "All right! Back to the beginning and let's do it again!" If you look at the shot at :13 it's a pretty short bridge.
@@zippymufo9765 People who live in the area confirm that it's pretty short, especially when you aren't going slow like in the movie. From a movie making standpoint though, you do what you gotta to make your scenes work. The other options are that you either spend a lot of time to scout the entire country, praying you find a bridge with the look you want and which is long enough (and that you get your filming permit), or you spend a lot of your budget to build a bridge set. Finding a bridge which has the look they want and then using editing to make the bridge seem as long as they need to is the best course of action. The world of cinema is full of these things, if people do a good job then either it's difficult to spot at a glance, or a scene is so good and captivating that most people won't notice those kinds of details.
@@0neDoomedSpaceMarine The production of TEXAS CHAINSAW 2 was a notorious rush job. The movie had already been booked for an August 22 release and they didn't even start shooting until May and didn't finish until July. So they didn't have time to find solutions, and they had a notoriously incompetent editor who was like the cousin of the owners of Cannon Films. @SeedlessJellyBeans it would of helped them for a second, but they were really fucked. the truck was in reverse, so it would of went forward and waited for them, if they put theirs in reverse the truck would go forward and catch up to them really easy. if they got on foot leatherface would hop out and chase them. their only hope would be to shoot him, but the truck could also mow them down.
@@TheBombShhh They could have rammed the side of the truck while driving tho, maybe leatherface and the weight of nubbins body would have fallen off the top of the truck?

Roy burns was played by Dick Wieand in Friday 5
No one lives forever really goes well with this scene. It's ironically hilarious when leatherface starts dancing to it
I love how Chop-Top drives backwards in spite of Buzz’s remark to back up🤣
That's one long bridge
It's true !!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The bridge is no big they film this tro many cuts
Lol.
Almost as long as the fast and furious 6 runway
It reminds me of Fred Flintstone runnin in his stupidly long unrealistic yard for 15 seconds straight.

Tom morga who played fake Jason in Friday the 13th 5 plays leatherface in this scene

For some reason I always remember “seeing” the guy get the chainsaw to the head. Must have been the Mandela effect.
Why didn’t he just stop ?!
They would’ve just driven forward then.
Because they needed to have him drive for the movie scene. It wasn't part of the script for him to stop.
