I’m Italian, my mom made Navy bean soup! Wow, we didn’t even have all those veggies in ours! Just beans and greens! 😋 And, she didn’t can it. I had no idea that we were too poor to buy meat! Now that I think about all the kinds of meals she made I realize she did a lot with what she had. It was always amazingly delicious food! ♥️
The deer got into my hightunnel and ate ALL my greens. My back door now has a doorknob on it. They were just able to push the door open to eat everything and take shelter from the deep freeze and snow
Marie, nobody can ever say that you can't teach a new canner just how to do it! Love that you iterate at least three times to impress what it is that you are trying to show and teach. Just like a school marm, ma'am! Blessings and thanks for today!
@@HOMESTEADHEART Mrs. H, in the video, you spoke of a correction to the written recipe. Right now, it reads, "Single Large Batch Recipe = 14 Quarts,,,7 Cups Navy Beans = 6 pounds". Are those ratios correct before I copy the recipe down? Or, do you want to make a correction before I copy it down? I'm confused...
@@lilblackduc7312 38:07 she corrects it to 14 cups of dried beans. I made 1/2 of the full one pot batch, 2-16oz store bought bags of dried beans 19 pints. They came out fantastic. Hope this helps.
You smelling the soup and hopping tickled me. I watch several homesteading videos on a regular basis. It is your channel that makes me want to come the most and pull up a chair and have an absolute feast. I learn so much from you and know that the tastebuds are
Marie! I canned to so many of your video's from Spring 2023 and still canning! We have LOVED every recipe. Love you "Mrs. H"! You are definitely one of our "Favorites"!!! Thank You for ALL you do! Annie
@@HOMESTEADHEART If a 'natural disaster' makes it so we cannot cook, it's easier to open a jar of home canned beans and eat them cold, than to try to eat bagged, dry ones. I like that fact!
Canning today 10 lbs. Hamburger today. Just added salt and dried onion 1 tsp each in a pint. Made 12 pints. Thank you for teaching me how to can potatoes way back.
Being closer to your age, and an avid gardner, My motto has been get what you can, and can what you get...for over the last 40 years... lol! It's only ramped up as i age and am pickier about what i consume.
I don't even like beans but watched every minute of this video. Thank you Mrs. H for helping so many learn how to do this very important skill. You are a blessing!! 💜💜
Thank you for sharing this video and teaching the bean soup looks healthy and hearty Mrs H. I know it's delicious Canning is truly a gift from God 🙏🏾 Peace and blessings 🙏🏾
I'm 70 and can regularly in pints. That's 2 meals for me. Beans, bean soup, veg soup, beef and/or chicken soup, broth, vegetables from my garden, tomatoes, tomato soup and sauce, potatoes, collards, etc. I learned watching Mrs H ❤
Also have a regular pressure canner and electric pressure canner. It's a good addiction to have. Also, my family is hooked on homemade bone broth. Prices are crazy now. This way I have small sizes of food for myself.
I will get to the store to buy my celery and carrots, already have the beans. This is the best receipt for bean soup I have ever seen, except the curry not sure about that.
My wife loves her some homestead heart😂😂(we both do). Your laugh reminds us of one of our friend)/Church member, Pauline lol. ( My wife and I like watching you and your husband do your videos, you guys are hilarious 😉). LF73 learned canning from you, and now, so do I, I have finally got it down, but I still watch your videos and follow your steps with you, this is so interesting to my wife and me. Thanks again, we look forward to your next video, and may God continue to bless you ,and your family❤
Oh my word, i can't tell you how much i enjoyed and needed the canner instruction. I have been so scared of using one..i have the presto . I need to learn so i can can more than water bathing. I just love you and your laughter. You really make me smile and always always make me think!!!
I bought some Tony's seasoning after your video on chicken wings. I will be doing chicken legs. My husband and I loved it so much that I went and bought another one to have on hand so we won't run out!
I started watching you 4 years ago. Glad I did. I dont have all those pots and pans and gadgets, or big canners, but I do have over 480 jars of food canned up and in storage now. Not much, but I am still working on it. Thank you for another amazing recipe!.
Hello Homestead Heart. Blessings to you and family. I was surprised that your audience was so young. I'm not the young one but you have been a blessing to me and family. Whatever the amount I can I will thank God and you. ❤ 🙏
Shared your video up here in Canada 🇨🇦 we need more like you to teach our young ones how to prepare 🤤 good nutritional food for storing thank you 🙏💕🥰🇨🇦 long time fan
Mrs H is so awesome! My DIL gifted me with a pressure cooker. I had been looking an they were scarce at that time. But she lives in VA and found a presto 23 qt one. The exact one i wanted. When i went on line for canning help...there was Mrs H. I would literally can anything she canned! She is so good and tells it like it should be...with her "ball canning book!" LOL Because she could add humor that is part of her personality, I loved her and stayed with her! MR H adds his own personality also! LOLOL.
Last year I canned a lot of your canning recipes. This year I am canning sauces and ingredients canning. Can you get addicted to canning. I love it. Last week pinto beans with spices. Right now two different recipes of BBQ. It smells divine in here. No need for Navy bean soup cause I still have lots from last year.😊 But I will save this video for when I need more.
I’m 24 with three little boys that can eat.. my mom is 40 yrs older than me and we watch these videos together.. I have started canning and she plans too as well. Don’t stop ur videos!! The young people are canning… a very Divine guidance brought me here. I know it’s doing the same for others. DONT STOP!!
I’m canning this soup right now. I had some leftover that didn’t fit in the canner, so I’m cooking it down for dinner. It’s almost done and it is Excellent! It’s one of the best soups I’ve ever had. Thank you for the recipe.
I have to try canning veggies and beans , I have been making jelly and jams after watching you and it comes out so delicious thank you for that teaching. The Lord bless you and your family with his protection all around y'all❤

A great video. I now have a 931 AA canner. My first project to can up in her, is chili. I don't have one jar on the shelf anymore and it's driving me crazy! Lo!. Thanks for all of your wonderful videos.
Wow! Mixing the tomato paste into a little water first is such a game changer for me! Who kne2 something so simple can make such a big difference in effort. Love, love, love navy bean soup. It is life!
Garlic is great for your heart and blood pressure. We eat a lot of it . I'm waiting to put the weight on the buffallo chicken . We tried some last night and it was great.
