Video from the Saugus 7on7 Passing Tournament in the summer of 2006. Jimmy Clausen was the No. 1 prospect overall in the class of 2007 Rivals100.
He put on a passing clinic at this event.
Jimmy was that dude
With golden tate Charlie Weis lmao
Clausen was literally a 20 year old senior. That's why he was so good
He was actually a 20 year old true freshman. I believe his parents purposefully started him a year later in kindergarten; but yes, he should have been in the class of 06 instead of 07.
I remember entering jv football in school and read of this guys stats as a high school player back in 07 in a magazine and was like this guy will go places. Proud at the fact that he went so far ,but now I just think to my self ? What happend in the nfl. Did he not understand the level of competition or was it the teams he landed in?
Some athletes just peak early. Happens to the best.
They already had plans for Newton so they likely paid jimmy good under the table to tank so they could get him.
@@masterblackmon lol
@@masterblackmon did they? Wasn't Newtons first season at Auburn that year and before that he was a junior college player?
He was born on September 21 1987, and he graduated a semester early in 2007. I'll let you do the math.
His parents started him in school a year later than normal. He also repeated the 6th grade so he was 2 years older than older than the kids in his own class by the time he got to high school. That paired with playing with about 20 future D1 football players in high school is why he put up such ridiculous numbers in high school. Had a nice college career, but did not do much in the pros.
Time flies i remember his brother at Tennessee also
The ball looks so large in his hands
So talented but the one thing everybody loved about him killed him.. his mechanics lol
That’s them Jeff Tedford style mechanics. I’ve never liked. Way too rigid for a pro QB
The way he holds that ball is atrocious.
His stance is awful. That’s a Tebow stance
That’s what allows him to have a quick release. It’s not a bad idea
Golden domer during charlie weis era@@bretclaar1663
His deep ball doesn't have a nice spiral
Lmao time flies
Anyone remember him at 2001 sec championship game wearing a lsu hat and Tennessee jersey lmao
Too bad he couldn't even QB an American Flag Football League game these days. 😂😂😂 Mike Vick threw for 8 TDs 1int against him in the first official game
@@acejackson7928 how many did clausen
Lmfao well, he doesn't play defense
I don't understand how he was the #1 prospect in the 2007 class. First of all he was born in 1987, while most kids in the 2007 class were born in '88 or '89. Second of all, he was playing on a team STACKED with talent. He even had five star running back Marc Tyler to his disposal. Rivals made an afwul mistake by making him the #1 prospect. Looking back at the 2007 class. Not a lot of five stars were ever succesful.
He was intentionally held back in school to get bigger & develop his football skills before he went to college. Yeah, kinda creepy & weird on his parents’ behalf.
@@abysmal The family is a football family. Families like that do that all the time to find an edge. Yeah, I find it weird.
He was literally 20 years old in high school
I won't dwell but damn
Chris Leak was better in HS
MUCH better
