A true Pan-Africanist, and one of the few respected African statesmen. There is no greater honour than a statesman who speaks his mind without fear of intimidation or rebuke by his detractors or those of an opposing view. Thabo Mbeki and RGM are two of a kind!

Thanks for posting. Mbeki is a great leader by understanding how external power with most hidden agenda can destroy more in the name of justice than and building a democratically process that takes time to achieve

No decision concerning the future of Africa should ever be taken outside the borders of our continent. They have dictated to us for a long time and we Pan-Africanists shall forever stand behind African Solutions to African Problems. #AfricanRevolution

+Lehlohonolo Leshele ....having said that... we also need the expertise of foreign intervention so implementation of justice cannot be biased or favor a few people .... paving way for more foreign investment ...

+Pholela Mapeyi and you believe that foreign interventions are not biased? aren't aware that most of local conflicts have foreign meddling including supplying arms on both sides

Pholela Mapeyi Translation: black people shouldn't be allowed to run their own country and they need the white man's supervision!

if we have to sacrifice justice for the sake of peace, then we should do just that. the African soil is soaked in too much blood; it longs for peace.

The need to provide security for all Africans is a priority that does not necessarily compromise justice. But, given the varying conceptions of "security" and "justice" and the way to achieve them in the perception of the many players on the Continent with varying and often competing cultural, economic and religious backgrounds it becomes a dauntig task to find the balance, especially as the victim, the African himself, is the last to be consulted. Peace and justice are not mutually exclusive.
Unfortunately, the African politician has little compassion for his fellow African while pursuing his political and economic goals.Generally, foreign interventions created most of the problems in the first place and they cannot be expected to solve those problems.More interventions perpertuate the current problems, create new ones and compound the issues.
Africa needs leadership COMMITTED to the African FATE.

It was most unfortunate that when Mbeki was President of South Africa, his denial of AIDS, and his blocking of proven medications for the HIV infected, allowed the epidemic in his country to grow to disastrous proportions, and contributed to the production of millions of AIDS orphans in South Africa. It's a gargantuan problem even today.

Havilahki This man never denied AIDS. He was asking deeper question about the fact that those ARVs had some side effects... And guess what, those ARVs where actually recalled after some time... and he wanted to address that... and instead of listening to what the man is say, we go with what the media is saying...

TB is a disease that killed more people than Aids bruh, that’s still true till date. 🤦🏽‍♂️ so allocated a certain budget and energy to one avenue isn’t all too wise but maybe your name calling is very wise. 👀

Mugabe committed genocide by killing 20 000 Ndebele people. What we have now is a tribal Shona dominated. It is a Shonalised and Zanuficated country all other tribes are dominated as foreigners. We Africans are too tribalistic in nature. All these wars within Africa are as a result of tribal rulership. Mugabe was a blue eyed boy of the British in the 80s and Tsvangirai was another one waiting
