He should of said "After voting liberal you should be arrested by Anti Terrorist Police and accused of stalking the deputy premier after posting investigative journalism on youtube" ;) Shout out to Kristo and Jordies
I think such a reference would have been a bit to obscure. Most of the people in the audience would not have know what he was talking about and thus would not have gotten the joke.
Pretty comprehensive, well done Tom, but I think you could have gone a bit harder. Try to fit in some references to their relentless criminality and self interest driven duplicity next time.
@@LateNightRewrites Also, don't forget the appeal to our basest instincts, dog-whistled division based on fear of the other, fear of losing wealth, fear of non-whites and fear of the First Nations people speaking truth to power, fear of fully-socialised public healthand education leading to a levelling effect and exposing the lie that is the merit argument.
I came here via the ABC News reply Tom wrote that I read while watching his turn on Spicks and Specks. On the ABC. My cognitive dissonance could not be more complete! 😂 (PS. Great set.)

@Tom Ballard in one of your shows you asked me if I could see the screen OK, and then if I was single (a standard line I'm sure), and of course I would date you in a heartbeat, but like everyone else who asks me this question the truth eventually comes out... they're attached, they're in love, etc. etc. Despite this traumatic experience - and admitting through gritted teeth that I'm happy to hear you've met your acrobat Aboriginal love of your life - I seriously did love your show, great piece of work, as is this small segment of it. You're a fantastic talent and I look forward to seeing you again.
This is so sad. Clapter isn't laughter, it's a weak comedian's poor excuse for comedy. There's nothing "dangerous" about it, the only danger would be if the roles were reversed and he dared to hate on leftists from a conservative perspective. The day Australians vote for a truly right-wing government I will very probably die laughing. Meanwhile I'll remember how "comedians" like Ballard kissed the boots of the fascist government that locked them down.
I've never heard of this guy before, but reading through the comments I'm guessing he's a homosexual. That would explain why we're told he's a funny comedian. The "diversity hire" of comedy.
This routine is very funny and outrageous - I love it. Moreso, I absolutely love Tom's response to Holly Lawford-Smith's claim this routine was hate speech. His response is long but so articulate and intelligent. Thanks Tom! Came to the via your piece in the age. I have no words to say how great this is. Thanks Tom Ballard!
