0:13 Ef ranking is not based on location and there is no reason why California can't have an ef5 I personally like food coloring in oil on top green is grate
Your 100% right as there is no reason California can not have a EF5. But between 1950 to 2013 California had 403 tornados with 265 of them being EF0, 113 tornados at EF1, 23 tornados at EF2 and 2 tornados at EF3. No tornados at EF4 or EF5. The strongest two tornados in California were EF3's.
That's good info I did not know but I hate it when people say it can't happen somewhere tornadoes have happened in every state in the US and on every Continent except Antarctica
Good Morning Rovian J., No I don't believe its a gas production. When you spin the water in the jar, it creates a vortex in the center. As the water spins, centripetal force causes the water to spin around that vortex making a mini tornado. thanks Ken
@@KidsFunScience thanks for the explanation. The reason I asked was because I’m trying to find experiments on gas production and mostly formation of precipitation
@@officialroviij yw and here is one I did that shows precipitation. Let me know if this is what you were looking for? th-cam.com/video/SmoGafggV2E/w-d-xo.html This experiment demonstrates the heat of the sun turning the water in the tub/bowl to vapor (evaporation). The vapor turning back to water droplets on the plastic wrap (condensation), drops getting too heavy and falling back down (precipitation) to the water in the glass which represents land (collection).
Hi I would like to say that's a whirlpool not a tornado To make a tornado, get a cardboard box,a good desktop fan, scissors, dry ice, or any type of smoke.First, cut a hole in the top of the cardboard box, then put the fan on that box, after that put the dry ice in a bowl of hot water and place it in the box (if not using dry ice just put the smoke or whatever in the box)under the fan and turn the fan on 👍
that’s still not a tornado, that’s a dust devil, the only current way to visualize a tornado is to: go storm chasing or use a super computer to simulate a supercell (and then a tornado)
Good Morning Lenny, Great question. I have never tried, but maybe if you continue to spin the jar. Other wise I don't know. If you find out a way please let me know. thanks Ken
Hi AzwaadGD, That is cool you can do this in your school. I bring it to Science night to 5 of my local elementary schools. Good to know it works with a water bottle. thanks Ken

You dont nessacarily need hand sanitizer for this. This is a whirpool which i make at school all the time all you need is a plastic or glass cup / container/ jar , with no straw, solid, no holes and a lid. Your welcome!
Good Morning Man Juan, Sorry its not working. Lets see if I can help get it to work. What brand of dish soap? How much are you putting in? Have you tried using hand sanitizer? thanks Ken
It worked for me but when I did it and when I started shaking it I kinda saw the tornado 🌪 but it was like blurry like yeah edit: by the way I used a like small smuckers jar
Morning 9Z1v1, I'm glad it worked and very creative using a small smuckers jar. Sometimes you need to change amount of of dish soap or hand sanitizer to get the right look. Too much and it can be blurry. Thanks Ken
Good Morning sheldon, yes you can do it with clear water. Adding hand sanitizer just makes it easier to see. I like that you were able to figure out that it works with clear water. Very smart. Thanks Ken
I'll do it for my grandson Misael. He loves to see tornadoes on TH-cam.
