On my dosbox Z: drive there are only a view external DOS commands, but we can download&unzip some commands like choice, edit, debug and qbasic and a lot of DOS software like picture viewer and sound player for DOS. Personaly i start DosBox for programming tiny executable files using batch files and debug. I made a text based mini game with batch files easy to change the story and easy to add new character to play. I made a video to show how it works. Feel free to change the content for your own game project. Have fun.😊
If there is an [autoexec] part at the end of the config file we can put a path command, our mount command, the drive letter to change and an executable to start. I start a batch file with a menu inside made with the choice command(download&unzip) and with checking the errorlevel in reverse order highest first to jump to a label (like :DOOM) with the goto command.
