Take a trip. Live there for a week. Don’t do vacation stuff, do normal life stuff to see what it would be like there. Try the grocery store, the gym, the salons, the car repair shops, the gas stations, the thrifts (obvi), and all the places. Make sure it’s livable.
I’m in the same boat- want to move to a different part of my state. I just took a trip & checked out areas to live in / what life would be like there. 😊 LOVED the black sweater with floral embroidery oh my gosh! So cute
one of the best parts of being a reseller is you can constantly keep upgrading your closet. I take a few items out every time I keep a few too many things. I just make sure im constantly curating and upgrading. you can't keep everything, but being picky helps. ahahah.
yes! my problem is that I am too picky sometimes so I never have enough on my shop! 🙃 There are depop sellers that have over 2,000 items listed. I always have around 100 😭
@@JulyHampton hahahh omg I know I can rarely get past 300 things listed but honestly it's cuz things sell so quickly which is still pretty awesome! ahaha
houston is great for thrifting and there's great grocery stores too lol for prices: thrift prices are similar specially for jeans but you can still find good deals and sometimes something rly cute will be like 99 cents so it does vary a lot give it a try take a trip and see for urself! i grew up here and still find new thrift stores and even the consignment stores can be good too
Duuuude yes the Texas thrift changes are so weird! I thought it was just mine. The cashiers still scan everything even though they are self checkouts😂 I’m pretty biased but I love San Antonio
Yes! A lady was scanning all the items for me and she accidentally charged me twice 😭 I didn’t realize until yesterday when I looked at my bank! San Antonio could be another great option! It is closer to me as well 🤔
I feel you bc I went to Texas thrift on Black Friday, their 50% off prices were similar to goodwills normal prices. There were also workers helping but more watching you at the “self checkout” 😭
Yes!! A lady was scanning all the items for me lol and they actually accidentally charged me twice 😭 I didn’t realize until yesterday when I looked at my bank 😭
I recommend buying at Goodwill, although sometimes they have very high prices, you can always find bargains. I recently bought a dress that had an original price of 150, and I bought it for 12 with the new tag.
I live in houston. The thrift stores are good. Our Texas thrift changed as well and went up on prices which i hate b/c i would find a lot of my depop designer bags there.
Thrift store chains are the same everywhere lol, but like you said there are a lot more stores so you have more places to hit & try to find good deals. Value village and family thrift both have loyalty programs to you can earn discounts, and occasionally they'll have random 50% off days for members only . Family thrift outlet is where a lot of people go bc their prices never exceed $2.25, but its very competitive. TBH the vintage scene in houston is stacked, lots of sellers live there so you will to deal with other girls going after the same stuff you want. But overall Houston is a great place to live in my opinion if you dont live in the city itself, find a suburb. The heights, woodlands, katy etc are all good areas
Yes! They have so many outlets and bins! I’ve never been to these before ! but that is a good point that I forgot about , more resellers. I’m like one of the very few here where I live which is an advantage 🤔
Jw how much u make a month on depop ? If ur comfortable answering 😅 i want to try cuz i have sooo much GOOD brand name clothes and no other sites have been working for me to sell them :(
more than my 9-5 and its up to you how much you want to make . The more work , the more money . That’s what I love about being self employed is that the income is up to you! 🫶
Goodwill is also discontinuing military discounts and they’re only doing discounts for reward members. I also noticed other reselling apps charge the buyers a percentage now not just Depop.. so much is changing unfortunately
@ Yes it may be only certain locations currently but they announced it in the store and I was also confused about the members but I’m hoping it means for those who have their phone number with them
Lol $10 is cheap! I'm in Portland and goodwill has gotten so taxed! I was just talking to a friend about how I should open an actual thrift store with prices that are not redic. I bet it would do well cause everyone would be appreciative of reasonable prices. Lol
hii, I would definitely consider moving, More options and sourcing of goods!. I think two second-hand shops are not many, you could sell more time searching and earn more! :) greetings from Poland
weird question, but not hate, can you show the tags when youre at the thrift? i would like to know prices so i can take it into consideration when i shop with you!! thank u love u
I purposely don’t show the prices because i know people that don’t understand the way business works will be in my comments and some even in my DMs as it has happened before 😂 so to avoid the negativity, i avoid it . I obviously am trying to buy for the least I can to make profit and keep my business going 💖😇
Imagine asking walmart how much they pay for their stock so you can see their profits... they take advantage of 3rd world countries and child labor so pick your poison.
I love watching American thrift store videos. Living in Sweden you can expect to pay like 20$ per item. And the stuff is not even half as good as in America. Only old lady clothes :,(
the thrift is so cheap here! my depop is so much better since i started posting more consistently, 10/10 recommended htown for thrift can’t beat it! 🫶🏻✨

yes! so far goodwill is my go to! I get military discount and colored tag discounts!
You should take a trip to the spi thrift stores I’ve found pretty good items
really!? Do you remember the store names?🫶
Have you ever tried going to the goodwill bins??
I don’t have any where I live 😭😭
If the bodice of your mannequin is fabric, try sticking a thumb tack in the arm for the purse to hang on. Or something similar
Oooo another great idea! Thank you!😇💗
Maybe you could add a little piece of velcro with a hook on it to Bella's shoulder so the purse can hang on the hook, but the hook is removable
Never thought about this! Thanks for the idea 🥰💗
As someone who lives in Houston it is getting bad over here as well not to mention how high crime has been 😭😭
I do think about the crime and I forgot to mention that 😭😭
where did you get your mannequin at?
On Amazon! the exact one I got is in my amazon storefront. It is linked in my video description 💗
I live in houston. The thrift stores are good. Our Texas thrift changed as well and went up on prices which i hate b/c i would find a lot of my depop designer bags there.
I NEVER find designer where i live😭 Houston sounds like a thrifting dream 😇
@ you definitely should visit!

Right!😇

Wait what!?!? No way!! Reward members? What does this mean?
@ Yes it may be only certain locations currently but they announced it in the store and I was also confused about the members but I’m hoping it means for those who have their phone number with them
I put a little sewing pin in the shoulder of the mannequin so the bags don't slide off 🙃
thank you for this! I put a push pin and it worked!!🫶
$10 per item is so normal for my area (Oregon)
NOOooooo 😭 that ain’t right
@ it’s pricey out here lol
Lol $10 is cheap! I'm in Portland and goodwill has gotten so taxed! I was just talking to a friend about how I should open an actual thrift store with prices that are not redic. I bet it would do well cause everyone would be appreciative of reasonable prices. Lol

Noted! 🤭💗
You can always move back
Right! 🤗
weird question, but not hate, can you show the tags when youre at the thrift? i would like to know prices so i can take it into consideration when i shop with you!! thank u love u
But why tho lol that’s crazy
Where I live in Texas the most I’ve seen $8.99 for a clothing item
she tryba earn a living for a reason everyone does this, if u dont like it, dont buy from people who resell? lol
I purposely don’t show the prices because i know people that don’t understand the way business works will be in my comments and some even in my DMs as it has happened before 😂 so to avoid the negativity, i avoid it .
