    I echo your observations between the two razors Jon. It’s the weight that’s the magic it seems for sure!

    Would you still consider your BB Ti still your GOAT? Do you have the polished or satin version? I’m thinking about getting the Ti version and like the look of the polished but afraid it will show scratches easier than the satin.

    Nice review Jon ! Yet to try the BB but I really have been smitten by the Overlander SS. 5 months of daily use and it's killed off any RAD... At least for now.. 😜

      Thanks Xerxes, and glad to hear you’re enjoying that SS Overlander!!

    To keep track of shaves per blade I bought some dice and keep one next to the razor to flip over each time I shave.

    Glad I was able to grab this razor at a killer deal! I know why its been your GOAT 2 years running! And I think I'm going to go team lightweight razor now, its just more forgiving when you forget and apply too much pressure, which I think is much more important w/ these high blade feel razors. Definitely would classify the blackbird as high blade feel... I think the Karve D/E is mid. And glad you enjoy Siam! Great video as always

      Thanks Ben for the Siam recommendation and glad you are on board the Blackbird train ;)

    Interesting comparison. The Blackbird Ti is amazing. Haven't used the SS version. Siam also a nice scent!

    I found the BB to provide the closest shave of all the razors I've tried (using Kia blades). I bought the Ti after using the SS and will keep the Ti instead of the SS. To me the lower weight makes a big difference.

      My experience is pretty much the same, glad you're enjoying the TiBird!

    Nice one Jon! I have the SS. I may need to try the Ti one day.

    Have you had the chance to use the Blackbird Lite base plate? If so, how does it compare to the regular plate?

    • @RaktajinoNX-74205
      @RaktajinoNX-74205 ปีที่แล้ว

      He made a video on it: th-cam.com/video/1FtLOzsLtno/w-d-xo.html

    • @Latherhog
      @Latherhog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I have a separate video for it if you're curious! The Lite has less blade feel and efficiency compared to the original plate.

    Great video, glad to know that there was so many similarities between the two. What do you think of the Blackbird compared to the Tatara Muramasa, I'm not sure if you've ever done of review of the Muramasa or had the chance to try it.

    Have you ever been able to try either of the Lambda razors? There are other posters comparing it to the Blackbird.

    • @Latherhog
      @Latherhog  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't tried any razors from Lambda, do you know which one was said to be similar to the Blackbird?

    I've been using the Ti, and was worried about the handle being slippery (shower shaver), but somehow it gets more grippy when wet!

    How would the Blackbird titanium shave one or two weeks of growth?

    • @Latherhog
      @Latherhog  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will really depend on the beard growth of the person, but for me, it'll shave one weeks growth with ease. I've never really gone without a shave for two weeks, so I can't speak to that.

    So theres an error on the label ? I hope it is because if its vegan it can't contain beef tallow

    • @Latherhog
      @Latherhog  ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s no error on the label, Siam is in the VR1 Vegan base.

    • @JulioRodriguez-vs1qp
      @JulioRodriguez-vs1qp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Latherhog it says beef tallow in the ingredients it cant be vegan. Im guessing he is recycling the label but it's definitely misleading for vegetarians and vegans alike.

    No more DE purchases for me at this point in my life. However those are both beauties. Siam does sound like a killer scent.

    I have the Blackbird Lite and I think to buy only the "Original" plate Ti.
    Handle and top cap SS and only base plate Ti. Do you used this combination?
    How is the shave?

    • @Latherhog
      @Latherhog  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think mixing the metals would miss the whole benefit of the Ti version, which is the change in weight from the SS.
