Hahaha me too! It’s hard to vocalize how much I disliked that film though. This one started off great and had some awesome elements, but fell off very oddly. 🤷♀️
Hey Crystal! I went to a Catholic middle school with nuns in the 80's so i of course love religious horror! I have low expectations for this one but will watch it anyways cause i'm addicted to horror!! Always love to see your face😊
That’s wild! How was it? Nuns always freak me out a bit. Not scare, just think they are usually “off.” 🤷♀️ going in with low expectations will be best. And you can totally wait until streaming, unless you have some sort of an unlimited movie subscription. If you do see it, let me know what you think! Great until the third act for sure.
My psychiatrist in the 1980s was a Jesuit priest who personally knew the priest who worked the actual exorcism that The Exorcist was based on. I found that his viewpoint on this (he was also an MD) unsettling. Thanks for your reviews!
I heard that Friedkin also said he believed in something after filming because of all the weird stuff that happened on-set. I would love to hear more and something in-depth from the original exorcism that it’s based on. Is there a documentary?
I loved it! Russell is so animated in it! It feels like they were going for him to be a Joker/Riddler type. With the laughs and the green and purple the colored suits. Which are awesome. Hahaha I kinda wish he had brought some of this crazy to The Exorcism.
@@GothicCottage And one thinks that, since the formula is so basic, most would get it right. But, more often than not the ratio is: most awful, few are just OK and a couple are actually good. What I liked about The Exorcism of God is that it started strong and continued that way through out. And the ending, that deal with the title, was so brilliant that people didn´t think of the idea before. Please, review it when you can. ;)
“Better than Believer” was the FIRST thing I thought haha.

@@GothicCottage Exactly! I loved the IDEA of it, and there were some good shots here and there. I liked the gritty vibe, but it just fell so flat!

looks interesting, I might have to check this out. thanks!
You can totally wait for streaming, but worth a watch if you like exorcism films Chad!
Getting myself trapped in my trouser zip is better than the exorcist believer
Hahahaha that’s probably true.
@@GothicCottage tried it yesterday...it's not 😳
I've been revisiting LA Confidential and Russell Crowe really shows a lot of Humphrey Bogart flare in that one.
Okay super glad to hear that haha
Hahaha well, I really disliked The Exorcist: Believer though. But this is really quite great for a large portion of the film.
I loved him in virtuosity!! It's so never talked about!
Uh oh, I’ve never seen that. I’m going to have to change that. I just looked it up and Denzel Washington too! I bet it’s fabulous! Great suggestion.
@@GothicCottage it's a sci Fi, action, horror. It's super great cheese!
@Jimmy_Horror It looks amazing. I’m going to try and watch it tonight!

Russell Crowe is awesome, but I'm not sure if I'm ready for another so-so exorcist movie. It would be difficult to be worse than Believer
That is true, it would be difficult to be worse that Believer. Haha definitely best to wait for streaming for this one anyway.
@@GothicCottage Thanks
Seeing it today. I know the reviews aren’t great. But, I would watch Russell Crowe stand completely still and read the dictionary. 🤣
I love the shirt
Did you see THE EXORCISM OF GOD? This is a very, very good exorcism movie.
I did and I enjoyed it very much! I do tend to really like exorcism films though.
