What is gravel? What kinds are there?

Grades of gravel are related to origin and size. By the end of the video, you should be able to answer which kind of gravel is the easiest to rake or shovel, or which kind causes the least injury if used for a playground or sidewalk.

what is the difference between asphalt and concrete?

Greg Dahlen Good one. Asphalt = a.k.a Bitumen is the crude oil destillate, the sludge leftover after the liquids of a barrel of crude are separated. Roads are coated with 70% asphalt mixed with 30% crushed rock. Concrete = cement + water + aggregate (sand, gravel)

Why gravel should be washed? Is it for better adhesion in concrete?

+hooperwille Correct. Gravel is never smooth, always textured a bit. Cement paste could stick to it or it will stick to the dirt covering it. Of course the concrete is nowhere near as strong this way.
