    Amazing work, was surprised to see Helton works in photoshop and ends up with fixed raster images.

    Very interesting work. Are all scientific illustrations down digitally now?

      Definitely not all! It mostly comes down to the illustrator's preferred media in most cases, I'd say. I know of artists making really beautiful illustrations in gouache, watercolor, ink, and so on. I've even started doing more with colored pencil and ink myself lately just because I think it's good practice to do lots of different things with art anyway. Digital is a lot more flexible (in my opinion, and in how I use it), but not the only way to go!
