Eat all those leg kicks and you won’t be bouncing around bobbing and weaving, feinting, and sprawling. Everything gets weaker and slower for the opponent the more they eat those leg jabs like this.

Thankyou I’ve been tired of people asking me how to calf kick. I always tell them watch kickboxing and Muay Thai. That stuff don’t work like that there.
exactly. it only works in mma because mma fighters arent good at striking or defense. its literally the most low skilled and high risk move out there. winning off a calf kick in mma is about as big as a fluke win you can go for.
Finally, someone bringing this out, another hint is to never kick with 100% strength without an early setup, and that's something you can apply to everything actually, surprise makes any strike hit harder

He straight punches you on your second "ankle-kick". I'd recommend avoiding this kick entirely. Calf kicks work against guys who play boxer in mma by sitting way too bladed so they can't check your kick for their life. Better avoid this entirely for the safety of your shins and ankles.
Tbh turning your kick over like a traditional thai kick for a calf kick is the first mistake. Kick with the ball of your ankle. Very little rep. If they try and defend.

You like those stats better?
Junior one beast brah.
Bro can you make a video on how to regulate breathing when doing combinations like whem to inhale and whem to exhale? I get tired so easily after combinations what to do.
Exhale on the strike. Inhale on set up.
Throwing a flurry, make the sssss sound. Known as SA in Yoga. Lends power to the strikes. Cardio cardio cardio
Brutal mode engaged
💯 agree
Finally, someone bringing this out, another hint is to never kick with 100% strength without an early setup, and that's something you can apply to everything actually, surprise makes any strike hit harder
or just learn how to properly jab. you cant snap your arm while jabbing. theres a reason why thais dont calf kick and dont snap their legs in half.
Title should be: "An excuse to touch a friend's muscle leg" ;)
Appreciate the info was looking for this!!
Hurt my foot in sparring yesterday please listen to this man lol
You hit him with the wrong part of your leg. The shin has to hit at it's strongest part, #research , why shoud I tell you what the video should have.
I’m acutely aware 😂 I went for speed instead of technique shit happens cry me a river
Thank you very much here's a sub and like 🎉
Was sparring with a buddy a few years ago he kept throwing them high leg kicks which pissed me off and the next one he threw I shifted to southpaw and checked the kick broke his foot. This is really good advice 👏
I always kick to the inside. Bc you can turn your leg or bend it in to check and outside kick to the calf but it’s harder to check an inside kick and having to turn your leg outwards
Thanks a lot
I think sweeping the enemy is more effective than calf kicking
We getting paralyzed with this one💀🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hey Kajan can you do a video of how to have strong legs when doing arm bar from the mount to the side amd not losing position?
Yes I can definitely do that
Love the ending - WHACK!
😂
Shin conditioning is very important after 3 years of pain i can Kick hard steel and concrete, is very important i had end a few fights with one or 2 leg kicks 💯 nice vid respect bro
Unbreakable titanium shinbone
I think Bas Rutten said to kick at a downward angle to prevent potential leg break scenarios. Maybe I'm misremembering but I'm 90% sure that's what he said.
its not just bas rutten. the thais preach the same exact thing. mma fighters didnt create the calf kick. its been around for a long time and its a very low skilled and high risk move. you notice theres barely anyone snapping their legs in half in thailand unless its a foreigner?
calf kicks are effective in mma because mma fighters just arent that good in striking. plain and simple.
@@eddyray-yb6igyou are yapping and said nothing of real substance sir.
@@Cornchip445 keep calf kicking. its good for you.
@@eddyray-yb6ig ufc fighter legit base their game plan around the calf kick. You can’t say they are just bad strikers bc the best strikers of just about every form fight or have fought for them. Over 300 paper view events and only two legs have snapped from a calf kick as well. Anderson Silva being the first. Like I just don’t see how you can insist that the calf kick isn’t effective. Too add on we have Thai fighters come fight all the time and they legit throw calf kicks. I just don’t see how you even came upon this opinion.
@@Cornchip445 yes they are bad strikers. the greatest striker of all time got his ass beat by a youtuber in boxing.
show me thais throwing calf kicks. since they do it all the time it shouldnt be hard to find. and theres been way more than 2 leg snaps in the ufc let alone mma. stop it.
Best advice I've seen so far from a youtube short today. Thank you ❤

Genuine question: is the knee joint safe to target with a low kick?
I’d use something linear so I don’t end up like Anderson Silva
@@tristargymwestcoast more like Jon Jones oblique kick to the knee?
@@prememp6438 yes exactly
@AshaBalerionConor looked like he landed His leg kick below Dustin's hip
I just front kick it
Some guy broke his foot on my knee trying to kick higher up with the lower part of his leg
I've done that a bunch of times without even breaking my foot and it hurt so bad I stopped leg kicking entirely for a while. Had to seriously tweak my technique to reliably hit the thigh every time and not the knee.
Yea ik when Someone lies 😂😂😂😂😂
@@pawgpounder699 ok lol

Excellent advice !!! Please more of this fighting tips fighter
Lesson: don't kick leg or get kicked on leg
Can you use your instep to kick his calf?
He straight punches you on your second "ankle-kick". I'd recommend avoiding this kick entirely.
Calf kicks work against guys who play boxer in mma by sitting way too bladed so they can't check your kick for their life.
Better avoid this entirely for the safety of your shins and ankles.
Disagree. Also, my head is off the line for counters
It is a hate crime to kick someone like that 😂
"Then he puts his weight on that leg."

Tbh turning your kick over like a traditional thai kick for a calf kick is the first mistake. Kick with the ball of your ankle. Very little rep. If they try and defend.

You might be proved wrong someday.
instructions unclear, oblique kicks only.
Chris Weidleg, Conor McSnappet, Snaperson Silva
This guy knows more than Anderson Silva , sure bud 👍
I have learned from his mistakes. This is the evolution of martial arts
@@tristargymwestcoast Good answer Kajan.
Anderson was a better competitor by a looooong mile, but even he had some suspect technique issues in his prime. Specifically, his takedown defense. It’s genuinely rubbish.
Thanks dude I guess I been throwing kicks horribly
Love that! I met Kajan Johnson at Unified MMA in Edmonton a couple weeks back and I gotta say he is the most humble and awesome chill fighter I met. He gave us some good advice to on injuries and being strong enough to pull outta a fight if you're injured because my cousin got reinjured in his fight that night. Cheers Kajan!
Cheers brotha, great meeting you!
Kajan Johnson! I didn't recognise him! Remember him from the Ultimate Fighter Nation!
Those leg injuries are hilarious 😂😂😂😂
You wouldn't be laughing if it was you

Even with conditioned shins this is my nightmare to have my leg turn into Gumby.
As a kickboxing trainer I have to give this man his probs. This is one of the most important advice about lowkicks. A lot of fighters on the highest level of UFC do this simple thing wrong. Many of them😂. And also, its very important to check lowkicks. A few checks or one good check and he wont kick anymore believe me. So great advice my friend♥️
"We both suffer, or just he suffers."
Or just you suffer. 😂
is aiming above the knee better??
People kick the calf cos there is so little muscle there for the swelling to occur that it gets damaged much easier
What the other guy said, there's also less time to respond, and there's the possibility for a sweep.
It's the more traditional target when kicking the legs, but it's much easier to check since you can just lift your leg up and slightly out. It's best to mix up calf kicks and traditional leg kicks from the inside and out to keep your opponent from guessing
your thighs can take a lot more punishment than your calf muscles.
