    Hi everyone, I wanted to provide a high level insight into the non-tech side of things at Google, even though this tends to be my general focus, I thought an overview video would be helpful, thanks for watching and please comment below!

    Hey Jeff, thanks for sharing your knowledge over those videos. I was getting ready for GCA and Googlyness and watched a lot of your videos... learnt about CFAS etc. but that just didn't help ... I tried to bring some structure to the call like you do but I was cut down almost immidiatelly to do assumptions. I think the best is to have the structure in head but actully be self on those calls. I mean let's face the fact if someone has experience and its not a chancer that person will have tones of situations to talk about while answering to those questions. Maybe the structured CFAS etc. works on a high level interviews but certainly not on mine. It was more of a finding what is the way you think, how you approach the issue etc. rather than follow clear structure and say what Google wants to hear. Be yourself on those interviews is my advise.

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ixodides, CFAS has only one goal, to bring structure to your answer, but any and all interview advice is terrible if we do not adapt to our interviewer. I would have still clarified and brought in a framework, but removed the questioning and treated it as thought process to quickly get to the assumptions. Good luck!

    I have a 2nd round Growth Marketing Specialist interview coming up with the hiring manager. Could you aid in what to expect and tips to succeed in the interview?

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spero, what is most important to remember with the hiring manager interview at Google is that anything is possible. So be ready for both behavioral and hypothetical questions, although, I will say for Specialist roles, behavioral questions are a little more common. Also remember to ask your hiring manager questions about them at the end of the interview. What do you love about the company, your job, the team, etc. Asking questions about them at the end of the interview will have them feeling more positive about you, good luck! • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DimeNRhoads8204, there could be some technical security questions, but yes, this would likely fall in the non-tech bucket, good luck with the transition!

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @wt9837, yes, all the info in this video should still be relevant. For a policy role you could have as few as 3 interviews, but it likely will not exceed 4. RRK, GCA, and G&L interviews. Good luck!!

    I would consider support job and research job as technical job

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dipsy Genius, I think it really depends, an Administrative Business Partner role is a support job and is definitely not a technical role, while a Technical Support Specialist would be technical. A Senior UX Researcher, Google Maps would not be technical where as a Research Engineer would be very technical. So I think it just depends!!

    Hi Jeff, thank you for all the informative videos and they really helped me a lot when preparing for non tech interview! I haven't received any feedback long time after my onsite interview (total of 4 interviews and 1 informal coffee chat), so my referrer asked my recruiter about the progress and she told him that she is trying to find another team for me. I was a little confused because it sounds a team match for non tech, and I supposed that the hiring manager round should have decided whether you are a good match, or, if you are not the chosen one, they could have directly rejected you after the final onsite. So do you have any idea of what that means and maybe I should move on because the possibility is really small? Thank you!

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ningyue, definitely do not move on, but the Recruiter should be communicating with you directly about what is happening, you should not have to find out this data from your referrer. I recommend trying to have a phone conversation with the Recruiter if possible, good luck!

      @@jeffhsipepi Hi Jeff, thanks for your reply. Per your suggestion I had a phone call with the recruiter. She said he hiring team thought I may not be a great fit to the position so it finally didn't work out. However, my recruiter told me given the previous positive feedback, she is trying to internally find other positions for me if possible. Does it often happen and is it meaning I can have another try next time (with no cool down period)? or I'll be appreciate if you could give me any advice.
