I absolutely adored Granny Rose stepping in like that and even just telling Copper that Cash is basically nothing but hot air. The fact that she was voiced by Vicki Lawrence from the Carol Burnett Show makes her even better. Side note, I felt like Cash's redemption at the end came out of nowhere. Sure, he tells Dixie he missed her and that he loved her but no apologies for not being sensitive to her feelings, for kicking her out of the band? No apologies to Copper and the rest of the band for pushing them hard and caring more about the Grand Ol' Opry than how fun music should be? I'm sorry but I have to call some major BS on that. Even Dixie's redemption was believable because she knew that she messed up and admitted to being a bit of a diva and even apologized to Copper for getting him fired.
*Note: This is my opinion. Don't bash me for it.* I never really liked Cash. Even as a kid, I was annoyed by him. Fox and the Hound 2 was my least favorite Disney sequel back in the day which is pretty shocking cuz I was the type of kid who saw shows such as Johnny Test and Pac Man and the Ghostly Adventures growing up and thought they were cool! This scene always made me angry mostly because of Cash. I get that he probably wants his band to practice more because some big talent scout is coming to see them at the carnival, but still! He didn't have to keep his friends awake all night and snap at poor Copper all because he was chasing some cricket. Like, get a grip, dog! He's just a pup! Let the kid have some fun.
Thank god I found other people who agreed with me I hated Cash too but I loved everything else about the sequel, 4th grade me was so annoyed by him 😅😅😅 I was like, “He barely even learned his lesson and didn’t even say sorry!” 🤣🤣🤣
@@arikatheprincessofhearts2043 No its not a bad thing. I like most Disney sequels, I just hated Cash's character. That doesn't mean I still like the film now, does it?
I think this scene can be explained easily. In the Butt-shaking song with Dixie, her song's all about how lonely fame actually was, and all she really wanted was Cash. But Cash is more focused on fame and success, and I think this has to do with the fact they're strays. Cash wants lots of fame to substitute being abandoned when he was younger. So someone "messing up" is a major failure in his eyes.
When I was a kid, this was sorta like my first introduction to The Fox & The Hound before knowing that the first one existed when I looked it up when I was a teenager lol. I do felt bad for Copper when that Cash jerk snapped at him tho' as I'm also happy Granny Rose also backed him up too. If I was a talking dog in the Disney universe like Copper but as a bulldog? I'd totally kick that Cash jerk's butt😆
I kinda of like Granny sticking up for copper and someone acting like a mother figure I also wish we know where exactly Amos Slade found copper from since he just showed him to Chief as a pup without saying where he got them from copper probably doesn't even remember his parents.
Cash doesn't have to be mean to copper was born like this dude you need to control your anger is out of control with himself right now at night time right now he's just a baby dog in his own life because he was born differently than you are nothing like him

Maybe with a Fox and the Hound lll, they could do a flashback and show where Copper actually came from.
