    Hi I have seen that the shunt is really a 200A one, does the unit limit by software to measure up to 100A ? I have an installation in which some times and for very shorti time I will have more than 100a (about 125-150A). I know that there is a 400A version, but most of the time, at low discharge rates (below 1A) I think that 100A version will be better than 400A. But this is my doubt, does the 100A version measure more than 100A ? Thanks

    • @Italjohn
      @Italjohn  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi there. I'm not sure, but think the shunt is the limiter here. It will be very hot if you pull a lot of amps over it's design value (100A)

  • @RND-USA
    @RND-USA 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hello! Thank you for creating this video! I have a question regarding its usage. Can the kl110f be used with cars or car starter batteries? If yes, do I need a larger shunt due to the spike in current caused by the car starting? I want to monitor parasitic drain current, which is under 1A. However, I'm unsure if I need a larger shunt as my car battery has 500-600 cold crank amps (Honda Element 4.2L, 4 cylinder). I've seen many people using this product in RVs, but I'm not sure if they're using it on their starter battery or on their secondary/leisure battery only. I would appreciate any thoughts you may have on this. Unfortunately, I'm unable to reach the manufacturer.

      @@Italjohn Hi, thanks for the reply! I’m hearing from some other TH-camrs that it can be used but that you need to install an additional switch for over/under current protections.
      I clicked on the link you sent. Is it for the Uni-T UT210E? If so, funny, I just got one from Amazon yesterday!! I'm just hoping to find a reliable Bluetooth solution because the car is a Honda Element camper SUV that I don’t use very often. The Element is a gem in the camper world, but I see it has one known problem: parasitic drain. For some, the drain has one source. For others, it's a more extensive deep dive. Have lost count of the batteries I’ve bought, but I am trying to keep the current one alive with an MPPT 10w solar panel in the meantime. I need to measure charges and drain under 2A currently, so assume if this coulometer is like some others I’ve researched that, it’s best to get the smallest shunt for more accurate readings. Yet, I don't want to fry the thing by cranking the car.
      Re ut210e: The strange thing is I put it in DC mode and tested it on the load live wire of my solar charger while charging an iPhone. Two USB meters running simultaneously said the current draw was 1.5A, but the Uni-T said the draw was only .600A. Did I get a bad meter? … yet another thing I’m currently researching 😅😅

      @@Italjohn I heard back from Junctek on this post asking my question about Car/Starter batteries. They say theres no problem using their shunts with cars, just need to varify which size they still recommend for measuring low Amps with a 600 CCA battery.

    I connected all, the screen works OK - BUT the Bluetooth won't work. In Android the tablet can find the device but not connect. In iOS the iPhone can't find the device at all. In Android on my tablet as well in iOS on my iPhone, I already Uninstalled the App and downloaded again but no change at all. I also tried to set a different pass code, on the screen module, to connect the Bluetooth but also that didn't work. I disconnected the main module from the power and reconnect, no change. I did a full reset on the screen module, no change. Still doesn't show up in iOS. Shows up in Android, asking for connection code, but doesn't make the connection :-( 😢 What to try or do next to make this work ??

    Italjohn, I have the KG-F Series Coulometer paired with a 100AH LIFePO battery. I cannot get the Battery Remaining Capacity (Battery remaining % image on the Display) to report Percent Capacity based on the remining voltage of the battery. I’ve tried fully charging the battery, then setting the Coulometer AH Rmn to the value on the display (Vs. setting the AH to the 100AH value on the front of the battery), but the Coulometer Percent Capacity image doesn’t move or is incorrect based on the current Volage reading on the Coulometer Display. Any idea what I am doing wrong or how to fix this? Doug F.

    • @tyrausfarrelly6257
      @tyrausfarrelly6257 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe this would be due to the fact that a LIFePO battery will maintain its voltage almost to completely flat, unlike an AGM battery where voltage drops as the battery capacity drops.

    I need to change android phones it is connected to, but the replacement phone wont connect.
    I can reload the firmware without issue on the old phone, Firmware 1.3.22. Both phones are Samsung S8s.

      To answer my own question. My problem is resolved. I used a IPAD version 1.1.12 (From the app store)to upgrade to the latest that has low temperature support and now with the other S8 loaded to 1.4.25 it works fine. I do like the low capacity alarm ( instead of using battery voltage). My intention was is to use it to switch opportunity loads, but it only gives a notification on the phone. ( Idea for some applications). Using it to energise the relay would have suited my application better. My 10 cents.
      Just a note: I used the android S8 with Ver 1.4.25 to reload firmware ( And from the IPAD),. You need to use the "After sale" icon with pass code" 8610" then "000"
      I am very impressed with this product, top marks to Junctek For Price, function, and continuing development.
