    So I have a 2021 model three standard range plus this actually happened to me same notification at about 35 or 40,000 miles. I took it in because it was a standard range. They upgraded to me to the LFP batteries and because those were a little bit heavier, they had to replace my whole suspension for free. So now I can charge my car to 100% all the time and it’s been awesome.

    Tesla warranty is actually pretty good. Be humble and speak respectfully, and the advisors will do what they can within guidelines.
    I had a brake rotor vibration issue and bought it in. Service tech agreed after test drive and replaced all 4 brake rotors and pads. (This happened at 24,000 miles. )
    I’m no one special.

    If you're out of warranty, there are a few shops that can diagnose your battery to find out if its a bad cell and replace said bad cell. Looking at a few grand instead of $12-15k for an entire battery placement.

    My wife's Model X had a battery die under warranty. She got the free battery replacement, and a free loaner car for a week or so. She had to get a tow to the nearest Tesla service center when it happened. The nice surprise was that Tesla reimbursed her for the tow to the service center.

    Hey Nico, bought my 2021 last year in July with 50K miles on it. Have 52K miles now and same thing happened to me. They replaced my battery free of charge and had a loaner so did not have much of a disruption in my life. No clue why the battery died as I charge at home 100% and not sure how the previous owner used it. The service rep was super nice dude and had a nice chat with him. Told me when charging at home to turn down the amps on the app to about 20 to limit the flow of energy into the battery. Not sure if this will make a difference, but have seen a few other Tesla owners post about doing this as well, so jut putting it out there. My Tes is still the best car I have ever owned!

    That’s why warranties exist. Tesla’s 8 years/120k warranty is great. A typical ICE warranty for a powertrain is 5 years/60k miles. So, you have a piece mind for extra 3 years or 60k miles.
    Engines fail too, likely at the rates lower than EV batteries (I’m sure this could be argued by either side of the isle). Given recent hike in labor and parts cost, i can hardly see the engine replacement being done for less than $8-10k.

      At 113k and only a "refurbished" battery...which questionable and never last as long Iong as the original, look at all the hybrid refurbished or rebuilt batteries, they are not the same quality. At the end of the day with how much the intial cost of the tesla, the charging stations in which you have to pay and aquire, and all the issues, with access to charging stations and issues is weather, the technology is not quite there, doesn't matter if everyone wants to be on the ev bandwagon because it just what is the latest and greatest, not to mention they are a fire Hazzard, and most fire departs are not properly equipped to facilitate them when they catch on fire. Nobody wants to talk about the elephant in the room..the Socal fires in which alot of tesla are owned by the rich and normal people in socal, Adding to the fire issue, as they are very difficulr to put out and multiply the many owners in that/those upscale neighbors will have at least a good amountof ev owners compounding the already devestateing fire in it self.

    • @mikel7296
      @mikel7296 4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @anad44 ....let start with Benz in 1885 as the very 1st vehicle, up to the point where Ford was the only one who had a gas tank located as a crumble zone , smack dab in the middle of the the trunk in the center where all others are placed inboard, using the area as a spare tire compartment using a steel rim which doubles as a barrier for rear end collision to minimize and extend the crumble zone, the bad designs were in the infamous pinto and mustangs of that period...which during most rear end collision resulted in fires..which deemed a very bad design flaw and deadly. No fast forward to modern day today with you assumption that evs are safer, since you are soo intelligent go down to your local fire department and asked them just how prepared they are with current ev car fires,. They are Grossly not prepared to successfully extinguish ev fires and have the proper equipment to do so. They currently need a 5k-8k smoldering blanket to choke out the fire. It will not extinguish completely with the equipment they currently have, and they have to pull the vehicle, and that's if they can get to it and pull it out of the house 1st and if they have the blanket and equipment to deal with that type of fire, hence most fire department just let it burn and so goes along the house it in or near. Have you ever see and delt with ev batteries or any batteries of current date. They are very dangerous, ie, samsung tried to push the battery technology too fast and paid the price with exploding , fire causing cell phones while plugged in at home. Same with the Chinese and their scooters which is a big problem in alot.of structure fires. The ev cars are no different, when they burn its similar to thermite, burns at an intensity where traditional fire equipment is not up to par. Just lQQk at the Socal fires and you know alot of the rich and even normal person has at least a good amount teslas or evs and in that vast and large numbers and the enormous fire, and given the nature of how difficult to extinguish,.it partially is a contribution to being able to contain the fire. In a gas vehicle at least if the fuel is burnt up thatn is it, a ev fire Will continue to burn and burn. Ne intelligent and research ev fire and how different for you local fire department to handle.
      So,.since Benz up until now, altho fuel is voitile, it is manageable and proven safe. LQQK at tou commercial airline,.the whole wingspan is full.of fuel, and since the beginning of aviation is safe. Ev has its place but is not quite there and still just a fad, until it gets proven and it's technology is to the point where it is actually proven over a long period of sustained use,.and the risk most of the masses do not know or understand,.or manufactures are only out to make money and don't inform you the Hazzards. Imagine getting into a ev vehicle accident and a fire started and you got so complacent you did it learn how to get out a locked ev that relies on its batteries to unlock the door and your locked in and no way out, and your hurt or unconscious and the fire department can't extinguish the fire with you in the car. So, what were you saying about fosil fuel vehicles???

      nmc capable of doing that
      con
      lfp if you didn't charge opten like once a week it it cause some issue that it will forgot how many % if left so sometime you have 20% left but accually it was5-10% and it will hiccup and will likely cause you a panic mode lol ( but i heard that tesla have less chance it happen but chiness ev lfp this is common issue)
      nmc is when it full and you don't drive it will cause battery degradation but i think just turn on sentry mode it will drain that 100% easily so no need to worry about it i mean if it degradation just let it degrade because it has 8 years waranty anyway so they just replace it for you no cost unless you drive it a lot like use it for living(job stuff) then you might follow his tip like charge 80% only or chage often if it lfp

When car gets older doesn't mean need to replace the engine, it gives less mileage, we still run the car but in the EV car ( just like cell phone battery) batter will completely drain when car gets older. Why didn't you ask service center about the Modules for the battery and replace just the modules which cost cheaper than replace the battery pack

    • @travisphotography
      @travisphotography 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      They dont service the modules. Basically to open the batt seals and glue, etc taking them apart is done at Teslas dedicated battery refurb facilities. A few third parties in SoCal are now offering the module service but still in the 5k+ cost as far as I know.

      I know someone who does rideshare and had to replace their battery at 61k miles. He says he will go back to a hybrid toyota before the warranty runs out as he simply cannot risk another battery failure after that. His Tesla's trade in value has rapidly depreciated as well and told me he wished he had never gotten a Tesla.

      @jeschr3462 most customers in my area trade in around 7 years before the warranty expires or they lease. I tell those that transition to EV to save the money they would spend on gas or expensive annual maintenance so they can pay for things out of warranty if they chose to keep them past 4 years. Tesla pretty much covers everything except wear and tear for the first 4 years. 8 years for battery and drive units. HV batteries are not cheap with any manufacturer.

      @jeschr3462 I think those that see the most savings are European luxury car owners. If you have a Japanese car you really don't spend much on repairs or maintenance plus they are easier to fix. I've fixed gas, diesel, and now electric. They all fail and are enjoyable to fix.

    I lease my model 3 and will get a new car in a few months which I will also lease. Hence I don't need to be worried about battery issues, or the hassle of resale,etc, less than $300 per month and I always have the latest tech.

    Seems like a lot of stress and unnecessary procedures to own one of these limited range vehicles added costs for doing what I take for granted in my ICE 4x4 but if you enjoy replacing these parts and have money if not under warranty after only 8 years then go for it and enjoy will be interested to see overall costs after 25 plus years like my landcruiser 1996 80SERIES if
    That ever lasts that long .but will probably traded in to become some other persons financial problem or will be scrapped as it may be worthless by then Time will tell .

    I just want to share this with you so that you can be encouraged and know that God has a plan and a purpose for you. God is so good that even when we reject him and don’t even want him, he still has a plan for us and he still blesses us.
    I hope that one day you sincerely choose him.
