    I believe the Book of James is for the scattered Jews all over the world. Our Apostle Paul told us how to pray. 1 Corinthians 7:4-6 and Philippians 4:5-7 Authorised (King James) Version (AKJV)-5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
    Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
    Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
    1 Corinthians 14:14-17 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
    14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? 17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
    Matthew 23:13-15 for Jews and Also Matthew 6:5-6(King James Bible)
    5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prays, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which teeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
    May God Almighty God hear our prayers (Amen).

    When we believed in the Gospel all our sins are have been for given ,, Colossians 2:13 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
    13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
    Romans 1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
    1 Thessalonians 5:17Pray without ceasing.
    1 Timothy 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
    2 Timothy 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;
    1 Corinthians 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

      “having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.” Colossians 2:12
      You have to quote the entire verse to get the full meaning, not just the part that supports your opinion.

      Yes, you are right. We should quote in full context Colossians 2:12-14 really.
      Thank God we are on the page - ( one Lord, one faith, one baptism,) the One Baptism and NOT Acts 2:38 for the Jews. The Church Baptism is 1 Corinthians12:13. Amen

    Is fasting required for Christians? We Christendom are not under the Law and prophesy program Jewish people or the Nation of Israel ok. We are under Grace and the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Now works require for Christians today in the dispensation of the Mystery program given to Our Apostle Paul. Our Sound Doctrine is from Romans to Philemon (13 Epistles To the Churches) the Body Of Christ.
    No. God required the Israelites to fast on Atonement Day, but he eliminated that observance after Jesus permanently atoned for the sins of repentant people. (Hebrews 9:24-26; 1 Peter 3:18) Christians are not under the Mosaic Law, of which Atonement Day was a part. (Romans 10:4; Colossians 2:13, 14) Therefore, each Christian may decide for himself whether to fast.-Romans 14:1-4.
    Christians recognize that fasting is not the focus of their worship. The Bible never associates fasting with happiness. In contrast, true Christian worship is marked by joy, reflecting the personality of Jehovah, “the happy God.”-1 Timothy 1:11; Ecclesiastes 3:12, 13; Galatians 5:22.
    Please be careful what we put on the TH-cam for the Public to read. Some people never open their Bible b4 and depend on Pastors . The Bible is written to us BUT not all to us. Some to the Jews and some to the Gentiles and some to both Jews and Gentiles. Today all are Gentiles in the Church program. The Jews program will resumes after the Rapture of the Church. Starting from Hebrews to Revelation ( Ages to Come)
    Ephesians 2:7-that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
    Pray is still necessary but not fasting in the Church program.
    1 Thessalonians 5:17 ------ Pray without ceasing.Amen
