Daddy's .Princess verse 1 is debatable but the first 3 or 4 lines are indicative of anxiety. Like I said all 4 verses are laced with paranoia. I don't see schizophrenia at all. Maybe the first verse but not more than anxiety and paranoia. Schizophrenia is characterized by disorganised thought. Explain how verse 4 is schizophrenia. He starts that verse in the midst of a hallucination. The listener doesn't know if drugs, something he ate , smoked, lack of sleep, or any other mental illnesses caused this hallucination. Schizophrenia is not the only thing that causes hallucinations. Schizophrenia is sometimes seen as the extreme of paranoia. But it's not. Paranoid schizophrenia is a specific type of schizophrenia. Not an extreme. The most successful people in life are paranoid. Look up Steve Jobs greatest quotes. Now the song as a whole could be seen as schizophrenic because of the happy beat and difference between the verses. It has a disorganised feel as a whole but each verse independently is whole.
This is one of the most important songs in hip-hip history. They were rapping about mental health in the early 90s: PTSD, paranoia, the stress that comes from success, depression, emotional isolation, suicide, hallucinations, schizophrenia, all spread out over four different and distinct stories. Geto Boys are all-timers for this one.

I loved the way these guys rapped, very jerky and abrupt. they were not smooth, but they were real. You could feel it in the bars. Guitar lick samples were catchy as hell, too. It was dismissed at first by the media music reviewers as a Texas NWA rip-off. But you could tell that there was a diamond in the rough. @Chief Trey lol.. true true..
Y'all should check out my remix of this song! It's on my channel. Tupac raps perfectly over this beat!
Brotha Lynch and X raided belong right up there with the geto boyz...those early-mid 90s three 6 mafia as well 👌🏻
They used to have a drag (racing) car and would see them every weekend in the late 80s racing at Eastex Dragway in HTX.
Classic track. Excellent example of the art of storytelling.

I'm not big into hip hop. But this is true hip hop. Poetry, storytelling and good old fasioned backing music that can be played with real instruments.
if you're not into hip hop why do you think you know what real hip hop is? that's like saying you're colorblind but know how green should look
+Amin Haque Go back and read the characteristics I listed in true hip hop. If you're looking to argue, don't waste your time.
+RJSAWN I'm not lookin to argue I'm just saying you kind of contradicted yourself, hip hop has evolved and is still true
+Amin Haque You're taking a commeny on the internet too literal..
+RJSAWN as much as i love hip-hop you can't really credit it for instrumentals
rip bushwick, I loved your music. Way ahead of its time
True all time classic. One of the coldest beats ever
The last verse get me every time.. shit crazy

this song is tough af man, these dudes going through some serious psychosis, hood life aint no joke
A I that happened a lot back in the early 90s cuz most was drug dealers, GDs, Crips, Bloods etc who had to look over they shoulders every minute which caused paranoia. Those were the good ol’ dayz but too dangerous at the same time
@@AmberSumerall 💔 I grew up in England so I saw a fraction of this in films, can't imagine living it in real life
@@AmberSumerall it's the same in this day and age
@@IisCloutedd Not really mate 90's, 00's was alot like that. These things may not have left us but it's more chill know
And it’s dumb that’s people that don’t know shit about it or never went through it act like they’ve seen it all, and a lot of people in the hood wanna get out of cause of the shit they go through, people get killed right in front of them, drugs break families apart, it’s sad
"I got a little boy to look after and if I die then my child will be a bastard!" Love this song.
