  • Quick rundown of the menu system. Only had about an hour of time with it out of the box. So far, I'm really impressed. Going to do some daylight shooting this weekend.

    Too bad you don’t actually explain anything in the menus. Anyone can simply go down the menu and read the titles.

    And while you are recording I can touch the screen to give some type of adjustment without making some noise such as a (beep) that damages the recording in audio?

    thanks for the informative video, one area I've been researching and can't seem to get a solid answer is on recording capacities of SD cards. Additionally, I read that the max card size it will recognize is 128gb. Im planning on getting 2 128gb San Disc Pro Extremes (10, U3) and just want to be sure that will give me reliable results. And what recording lengths can I expect on the cards shooting in either FHD @ 100mbss or their 4K Cinema mode (at the highest mbs it allows) any insight or advise would be greatly appreciated. I'm purchasing 2 cameras this week to finally upgrade my (tape based) Cannon XH-A1's which have served me well for 10 years. (i need long seamless recordings as we film many plays and recitals)
    thanks,
    Anthony

      Anthony Francese 128gb should serve you well. Do you plan on shooting exclusively in 4k? Keep in mind your files will be huge for editing. Class 10 U3 is definitely what you want. I think you're going to love this camera. I've been very happy with my purchase.

    Respected SIr will you please explain the numbers setting for this camera , Eg . Gain , IRIs , etc ) .

    • @illdaddyrod
      @illdaddyrod  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Satheesh Padmanabhan In my opinion you can safely go up to 18db of gain and not worry about any noise issues. Iris just like gain is situation dependent. Many factors to consider. What specific settings are you curious about?

    HI do you have a problem with a loud audio problem?. Because i bought the UX-180 and it was my third return to the BH. Problem was i took the UX-180 camera and shoots birthday party and when the DJ play loud music i have a problem with the audio. So today i when back and got the HC-X1 camera and test the audio by play loud music in my car and recording it. The resulted i was not happy and loud music. I try the external MIC is a little better but not happy. So did you try to shoots a job with it?

    • @illdaddyrod
      @illdaddyrod  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      chi lon I haven't tried it at an event yet but I always use a shotgun mic. I never use internal microphone. What happens to the audio? Does it get distorted? Are your levels hitting the red?

    • @chi12366
      @chi12366 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey yeah its distorted and also some time i can hear a pop sound nose. I tried my external Mic and set it to -40 db its a little better but not as happy as my Panasonic AC130a. I think they do have problem on loud audio. I was try to looking for to see any one who have the same problem. Check your you can go in your car and play the music all the way then put the camera in front of speaker see if you have that problem or take it to your event and try it out. i feel uncomfortable to use it.

      Frank Dion That's what I use and it works fine when I film in 4k. Not sure why your card is giving you issues. As far as format, cinema should always be filmed in 24p. We're lucky with this camera that it is true 4k (4096x2160 24p). I'd film in the highest bitrate you can. I'm not sure if it's mp4 or mov at that codec without having my camera in front of me.

    hi,
    are there any scene files to download for this camcorder. thanks in advance

    • @illdaddyrod
      @illdaddyrod  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gordon Otabil I checked about 6 months ago and there wasn't. Technically any for the UX180 would work. They are the same camera minus a few connections. I'd have to look. There are some scene files built in.

    Make sure that you ONLY format the SD card using the camera's format and not your PC or it may not work properly in camera. "Formatting Media" page 42
