They were still eating breakfast, but father Momotaro and Gentaro were in their favorite spot, which was hard to see.
July 7 was a special day.
I could not attend the Supporters' Day at the end of last month. (due to hospitalization).
And today (July 7), there is a Tanabata event and those who win the lottery will have their wishes fulfilled.
I was given a slot in the Tanabata event, which is very valuable.
I will be able to go to the second floor where visitors are not allowed to go up, as I did on the Supporters' Day.
I can only express my gratitude.
Before 11:00 a.m., I was given an ice candy as a snack.

We could also see the sub-grounds from above.
Although it is not shown in the video, there was a happening in Kintaro. The fire hose connecting the protective net to the ceiling came off, and we thought he might have fallen, but he managed to stay safely on the ground with his amazing physical ability. However, Kintaro himself seemed quite surprised and stopped coming up for a while.
We were also able to see Kintaro from the inside of a window in a high place, where he usually comes to look in on the inside of the house.
Momotaro and his friends came back inside a little later because of the Tanabata event.
Just when we thought things were going to be the same as usual, there was a small dispute between Momotaro and Gentaro's father.I think that when we walk out to the ground, father Momotaro is more angry than usual.
I think I can somehow understand the level of the struggle when I see it in person. Maybe the video doesn't convey it?

He came to the Kyoto City Zoo in 2010.
Genki (mother) was born on June 24, 1986.
I was born in Kyoto and came back to Kyoto.

I’ve been thinking the same thing, Momotaro became a father at the age of twelve, the age Gentaro is at now, it’s hard to believe.
@@kittykat1985i think he was eleven. But he did look more like a full grown silverback than Gentaro does now. Maybe because he grew up without a silverback around.

Thanks for video, like others I think it’s time for Gentaro to leave before someone gets hurt. Now I’m worried that Kintaro or Genki can be hurt trying to stop the big guys. I don’t know if there’s a place for Gentaro can go yet. But they need to start the separation process for Kintaro 😢

I feel so sad for Gentaro. He looks like he's about to cry, or he has been crying. He needs his own female and babies. I hope that the zoo is attempting to find him a new home. Bless his cotton socks. 💖

Did Gentero and Dad get into it again ? Who started it ? Is that Gentero I see sitting alone on the second floor ? He looks like he's nursing his shoulder. Can't really tell what's going on. Gentero looks magnificent 👌
They all look great. And to me, It looks like it might be play fighting.
It is pretty impressive the restraint Momo has, he just disciplined Gentaro when he could of continued and it be a big bloody battle to finish it once and for all. Gentaro needs to be moved now before that happens, he is such a beautiful gorilla that deserves to go on to the next part of life. Can he and Annie not be placed somewhere? Is there not a billionaire somewhere in Japan that can build a home for them in some zoo in Japan or take on the issue of the gorilla problem there. Surely there is someone there in the millions of people that can do something?
There are so many world wide fans of Japanese gorillas that we could probably chip in for the new facility. Surely there are some under employed primatologists who would love the opportunity to oversee a new gorillas facility?
@@shawna6683 did you ever watch Lope, crazy young gorilla from twycross zoo? He started really young challenging dad and causing chaos so he is now at a zoo in France. He is only 11 and there is a huge silverback incharge and a black back there. Lope for the past month has been posturing and charging past the silverback and making him mad. Boy he is some aggressive gorilla like his dad

I couldn't believe my eyes. I had to put your video in slow motion. Gentaro lunging at his father. Kintaro 3:18 hiding from the beating his brother got from the father. 0:50 Genki eating and probably thinking let them do their thing more food for me while they are whooping up on each other.
What are they waiting for to move Gentaro please!!! These episodes will get worse and worse because Gentaro is no longer afraid of Dad and it will be a confrontation where one or both of them will get very hurt.😞
Sadly, there's no where for Gentaro to go. Twelve years, and not one zoo in Japan created a space to house beautiful Gentaro. So, he stays in Kyoto. Komomo and Momoka will continue on birth control to avoid a pregnancy by father Haoko. Annie will likely begin mating with her father Shabani, as there's nowhere for her to go either. Japan should stop breeding gorillas. 😢

They had 12 + years to come up for a solution for Gentaro,Annie, Kiyo, and the 2 females that are Momo's sisters and up and coming Rickie and Kintaro and I feel Kintaro should be an early move he never obeys dad. Just so irresponsible. They had all those years to raise money for a solution. Just wrong and stupid sorry to say
If they don't have room in Japan then he needs to be exported to another zoo with Annie on loan.. What is The Problem. They have enough fans. If they need money then they need to start a go fund me to collect money for an expansion or move. It's not fair for them to live this way.
I like how Genki just casually strolls after them right after the scuffle. I think she's glad Momo corrects Gentaro these days.😋

Wow, one of these days Daddio isn’t gonna win these little spats, Gentaro is growing into his prime, he is becoming a pure BEAST! The day will come when Daddio won’t discipline Gentaro anymore especially when Gentaro shows him his strength when fighting back and wins!

Momo is very tolerant with gentaro despite continuous provocation from gentaro but now things are getting out of hand finally momo took stand put gentaro in his place that how it should be done.
Es ist nicht ganz klar, wie plötzlich dieser kleine Kampf zwischen Momotaro und Gentaro entstand. Kurz zuvor sucht Gentaro in der Glasbox nach den letzten Leckereien und plötzlich eskaliert die Sache zwischen den beiden. 🤔
Gentaro hat Respekt vor seinem Vater, aber er lässt sich nichts mehr gefallen, er ist kein Kind mehr. Momotaro hat mehr Kraft als Gentaro und lange Eckzähne, aber wenn nötig, wird Gentaro um sein Leben kämpfen. Allerdings entkommt er der Situation stets, indem er wegläuft, bevor sie wirklich eskaliert. Das ist sehr clever. 😌
Ich hoffe sehr, dass die Verantwortlichen es nicht so weit kommen lassen und endlich eine Lösung für Gentaro finden. Was ist mit der zweiten Ebene? Das hätte schon vor Wochen fertig sein sollen! Gentaro könnte problemlos dorthin versetzt werden. Worauf wartet der Zoo!? Das verstehe ich nicht. 🤷🙎
Momo entro corriendo y Gentaro lo atacó. Luego entro detras del padre nuevamente al mismo recinto. Si no fuese que Gentaro no tiene los colmillos desarrollados aun hubiese sido una pelea de igual a igual por el mando porque cada vez le tiene menos miedo o respeto a Momotaro.

The big homie Gentaro gave his old man that flying elbow into the wall.
Gentaro got a little too cheeky, and his father had to put him back in his place. Gentaro gas gotten bigger over the last year, but he is still not in Momotaro's class. Momotaro has been quite tolerant, and patient with Gentaro's growing pains, but still has to perform his duty as Silverback/dominant male, and keep things safe and livable for the rest of the family. He gave Gentaro a couple of strikes, and chased him outside. It was evident that Gentaro still has the fear and respect if his father's strength, by the feces that was leaking out of his backside, when they reentered the indoor section.
I do hope they can figure out what to do with Gentaro soon. The behavior he is exhibiting, is normal for a male gorilla who is transitioning from young male, to adult. Things could get ugly in the near future. It's just inevitable.
And he pooped his pants during the aftermath!😂
Two very interesting things captured. I loved seeing the view from the second floor. And it is interesting, although sad, to see when the fights break out. Good job!😊
If he was in the wild he may or may not have left or withdrawn from a troop. But in captivity, this is far from the worst situation Gentaro could be in. He has some tousles with dad, but dads authority seems to be holding up. The only female does not have the hormones to attract either of them so they will not fight over that. It is just food dominance tussles and Gentaro would have that where ever he went other than alone. Male gorillas are designed to fight each other. People should relax.

Kiyo, Komomo and Momoka are first cousins. Their fathers Haoko and Shabani are brothers.
