      Does this mean we are going to get wide toe box shoes for other sports too? Like soccer cleats?

    Yessss. This dude has helped me so much. Had elbow pain for a long time. Worked a lot on external rotation and lat flexibility, while stil trying to gradually get stronger. Now it's feeling much better!

      Do you happen to low bar squat? I've had elbow pain from low bar squatting and it's become a nuisance. Could you give me some exercises you've done to help with your elbow pain?

      @@songsforpantstowearl try doing a few sets of scapular pullups, then do squatU's shoulder mobilization (he's got a few videos). I've found that unlocks my lats and pecs progressively over the past few months. Takes less and less to get under the bar for squat or OHP.

    Great foot information that hit close to home. Working from home more than average over the last 2 years and being barefoot increased my shoe size by a whole size. I am super conscious of shoe choice now.

    I’m almost 400 lbs. I started watching Mark Wildman and Squat University a couple years ago. I was having horrible problems with planter fasciitis and Mark said that if you start doing kettlebell exercises barefoot and keep your feet pointing straight it would fix it. Sure enough a few months of doing that and no more feet pain. At the same time I started wearing zero drop shoes. All the the Dr visits, injections, orthopedic inserts did nothing but those two things made a world of difference.

    I’m convinced barefoot/minimalist has HEALED my knee/neck/back/shoulder pain I use to be in constantly.
    my legs would be on fire after a bartending shifts 15-17 hours. Now I can do those shifts in a breeze and my legs do not fatigue in the same way.

    I tend to prefer Xero's over vivos for training
    I have vivo for more 'formal' type settings, pair of Gobi II's
    But find Xero's a bit more flexible than vivos / more ground feel

    The barbell back squat is definitely not a normal human movement, not that it’s bad, but loading the weight right behind your neck is not natural. Again, not against it for powerlifting, but for functionality there are better ways to squat.

    • @hamadalmehrizi6078
      @hamadalmehrizi6078 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like using a front loaded landlmine ?

    • @phil5037
      @phil5037 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hamadalmehrizi6078 Possibly, but I believe-- and Mark covered this in a podcast about a month or two ago-- that the most optimal way to load it is the Squat Max free weight belt squat because the load is at your center of mass where your waist is. Almost no one has that though so I think the Rogue safety bar squat is great for putting more force on the legs than the lower back.

    Where do you find these dudes that just like listening to their own voice and make the podcast last 2.5 hours? This guy provided no actionable info whatsoever, not even when Andrew asked him a specific question about his back issue and doing sissy squats. No info whatsoever. Another one of these was that Graham kid, shot his mouth for 2 hours but at least gave us some actionable info for the feet. Mark, Nsima and Andrew, when you ask a question, hold your guest accountable if he/she doesn't answer the actual question you asked but rather goes off on a hero tirade - "I do this and that and all of this", but can't answer a simple question. What a waste of 2.5 hours.
