My boyfriend broke up with me yesterday, we wrote a lot and finally we realized that we had to move on, but when I woke up today he had written a long text that he wanted to try again and then he had written that I would listen to "Half a man" by Dean Lewis because that's how he felt, and now I understand.
For all you kings in this situation, it gets better. Even if you don’t get back together you will grow from the experience. Don’t get me wrong, it’s going to be one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. But you can do it! I was suicidal after my long term relationship ended. But I grew and am in a much better place mentally and physically, you have to push through! It took me a year and a half to move on, and although there’s no one serious in my life right now. I’m so excited for the future. If I can do it, anyone can. Keep your heads up!

This reminds of my ex. He asked me to let him go because he was lost. I understood his situation, let go with heavy heart. I cried my heart out as I loved him but I had to let him go, so he could find what he wanted. 9 months later, he contacted me back. Called me, cried his heart out, regreted his decision for doing that to me, still feel bad about it, told me that he misses me all the time. I smiled and said thank you. I missed him too, but that was in past. I grew after he left. After that heartbreaking short phone call, he keeps reminding me that he’s always there for me. But my feeling has faded and I only love him as a friend now. I just hope he loves himself now, as much as I loved him before.

As someone in the same mindset of your ex I wanna tell you my view of this all. It really is hard to give someone your all when you dont have much to give in the first place. In my current relationship, I try my best to love but eventually I feel like I am just dragging her down. So every little failure just feels like the worst feeling in the world and just piles back up into that already existing feeling of inadequacy. No matter how much you want to love that other person, you just know that it isn't enough. I feel like I'd rather have everyone abandon ship rather than say "Were fine, just stay where you are"

There's this aching pit in your chest that craves the comfort and companionship of another beating heart, yet you can't love another person without tearing them apart because all you've ever known was destruction. It's like driving on a donut. You want it to get you where you're going so badly, but it doesn't fit. And eventually it's going to give out from the pressure.
If the artist could put these thoughts into lyrics to "fatten" up the piece, this song would graduate from a good song to an extraordinary song... Consult your. Muse!

This song is so relatable, but there's just that one person that says he loves you and it all melts away, his voice makes you fall into his arms, and his eyes are full of love and true concern for you. Then his soft lips touch your cheek, and he whispers "I love you" barely noticeable, but it's still there and you just fall in love all over again
Listening to this at 41 hits way different than it would have at 21. Back then these words where literally my life and I actually feel that I’m much more complete based on how I relate to the song today versus then. Life sucks when you have trouble putting all of the pieces together. Hang in there young folks, life will chew you up and spit you out if you let it. Just hang in there it gets better over time.
