To be fair, I understand that, given his origins as a one-man band in his mother's Peruvian pub, he probably always had those things, but I feel that in his vocally mature years that he's become a real "maestro," somewhat in the way Pavarotti once was.

We heard these two at the Salzburg Festival last year, it was totally unique, we have heard many Liederabende by different famous singers over the decades, but we have never experienced anything comparable to this concert, Florez is so special, not just in his vocal mastery, but his musicality and expression and Scalera is also such an amazing accompanist and pianist. Thanks for uploading, I wish I also heard that one live!
