Maybe I will go there some time again in the future. Chile and Norway have a history. We have a lot of Chileans here. One of my friends is actually married to one.
If you want to appreciate the Chilean Prussian ceremonies you have to visit Chile from September 16 to 19, there are military parades in almost every town and the greatest parade is in O'Higgins Park on the Day of the Glories of the Army. You could also visit the La Moneda palace at 10 am, there you can see the changing of the guard that takes place every other day. Greetings from Santiago!

Not funny really as we have a big German immigrant population since the late 1880s and they brought the German imperial military doctrine. That’s why the Chilean military have german helmets during parades and also german military parade songs. If you go to the south of Chile you have entire towns with german/chilean population and even the streets have german names. They are very proud of their german heritage and loads of germans visit as tourists.

The Prussians trained Chilean Army after we defeated all our enemies and take control of their cities in the pacific war, we have never been defeated. The great military parade celebrates the glories of the army and takes place precisely on that day.
You have completely misunderstood what discipline is . In this particular case it is Not a political ideology. It is a way of behaving according to certain rules . If some are offended because it reminds them to the Nazi era , one must bear in mind that this Prussian /German discipline was implemented in Chile at the end of the eighteenth century , nothing to do with Nazi crimes nor Nazi ideology . They are very proud of their german heritage and loads of germans visit as tourists.
They were trained by Prussian officers in the 1800’s, so the modern Chilean army kept up the Prussian traditions which is beautiful.
