Seeing this comment in 2024 is wild and melancholy. Reminded me of all of the times I’ve had people harass me for wearing a mask. (It hurts my soul that so many people died due to complications from catching Covid. So having had, and still having, complete strangers accosting me for MY CHOICE to wear a mask is absolutely disgusting and inhuman in my eyes. To me it’s akin to like trying to shame someone for covering a cough, or recycling, or wearing deodorant… it’s something we choose to do that also happens to sometimes benefit others. Just because you throw trash out of your car window and don’t cover your coughs, doesn’t mean I’m weird for not littering and covering my coughs to be considerate of others dude.) Sorry for the rant, apparently I needed to get that one out. 😅
Do you mean that the other way around? I love TLM, but it came out in 1989, and LSoH came out as a movie in 1986, and wikipedia says the musical came out in 1982, and it already had this song. Hah, but I just read more and see that LSoH was written by… Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, exactly the same duo that wrote the music for TLM. So, as far as I'm concerned, they were certainly in their rights to steal from their own music however they wanted! I'm just glad they didn't steal from someone else.

I'm not crying, it's seasonal allergies. This is phenomenal... on point in every single possible way. This song, character and show have been favorites for 30 years... always bummed I'd never play Audrey. His performance gives me life... the longing, self doubt and hope ripped through me... it was the performance I'd created I'd give in my mind... only major difference is- he can sing, whereas me... not so much. 😒 Simply stunning performance.... I'm so very GRATEFUL to have found it and that it was created. THANK YOU. 💓
