I think most music lovers who aren't chronically online like us might never understand the profound impact vaporwave and it's nearly endless parade of sub genres has had on the lives of internet-goers.
It's a genre of music that started in cyberspace and feels most at home here, and I doubt it will ever make as big a splash in the mainstream as other genres that are more suited to live performance have.

Recently, many of my evenings and nights have been a combination of getting a high from delta 8 gummies + heavy kava tea, followed by a cool shower with the lights off in my bathroom. The only trace of light is the illumination from my TV in my adjacent bedroom, the flickering yellow-green-gold of this cover. The only sounds are the tap-tap-taps of water from the showerhead, and Virtual Dream Plaza 4. Sitting upright in the bathtub, back rested against the wall; sliding glass shower doors opened just slightly to let a breeze in and out. Pure nothingness, but a moment completely in my control that becomes everything I need to set aside the day-to-day and the past. Thanks for listening.

The first song would have been nice to listen to when I was walking around NYC twice recently after midnight. For some reason buses will go all night around the city but not out of the city. So my bus wasn't until 6:30am. Instead of spending at least $175 on a hotel for 6 hours of sleep, I just walked around. I listened to some other vaporwave like 18 Carat Affair, and music that inspired almost all synth music Tangerine Dream, but I forgot to listen to Virtual Dream Plaza.
I used to listen to these albums while smoking and playing games. The first song of this though would have been great to listen to though because NYC from 3am - 5am is really quiet and sort of lonely. When the Moynihan Train Hall eventually opened at 5am, I walked around and went from the new area to the old post office the James A Farley Building which is part of the train hall now. It was just a long post office with old safety deposit boxes and lighting. A lot of the counters still there. I was looking for a place to sit but I was also exploring. So I walked up this stair case since nobody was around to stop me. It just went up to a door that was locked, and 2 elevators that had been covered with cylinder bricks. I sat there for about 20 minutes since by then it was already almost 6am.
If you go to NYC even with a group and they are all at the hotel sleeping, take a walk outside for a half hour and see how quiet it can get. I just had to because I didn't want to pay $115 for a train ticket which usually costs about $33 if purchased a month earlier. That would leave at 2:40am anyways so it's not even a midnight train. So I saw the bus a few hours later cost $30. So I listened to vaporwave on headphones and looked at buildings. It is weird seeing Broadway around 4am because almost nobody is around and it looks like "Escape from New York" sort of. Like a bunch of billboards left behind. Then it makes you think of all the movies and stories set in NYC and it's enough to make time feel like it goes by quicker as you wait for the morning bus.

the first song (I feeling of love) I tend to envision from the perspective of analytic math, as a vector space with a function that keeps transforming its basis vectors and the drum samples are scalars that extend the vectors. Each musical instrument that was created probably in Fl Studio (or sthg of that sort) represents a separate vector, but all are in configuration space not necessarily spatial. And they are all going thru rotations in configuration space, which why we hear a recurrence. I must say they chose the perfect attractive model in black to symbolize the theme.
Not many genres of music makes me feel the way Track 2 does.
