    I remember how popular the cures disintegration album and depeche modes 101 album were back then...you couldn't miss it! The good old days

      Oh yeah. 101 was broadcasted in its entirely that year (Radio Concierto, Chile). Disintegration had a great hype too, especially with "Lovesong".

      Well it was an actual music channel.. i mean i assume i wasnt born there but last time i was on mtv there was nothing but pregnant 16 year olds and ridiculousness playing over and over and over and over

    Man I'm getting old now. I remember when they took the QU2. Remember this promo on MTV and remember the big promotion for this QE2 trip on KROQ 106.7 here in LA. It was pushed many times a day. Now all these years have passed.

    Good memories - one of the outdoor shows was in Toronto. We queued overnight for the tickets and got great floor seats. Remember that show so well at the end of August 1989. Love and Rockets was awesome as well.

    Anyone have an idea what 'Lovesong' - or is it 'Love Song' is particularly doing on the Disintegration album? I understand the idea behind it (wedding gift) and am very glad it exists, of course. But why that particular album? Most of the rest of the album is so depressing and negative. Just wondering what others' opinions are. Thanks a lot.

    • @Diffusion8
      @Diffusion8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lovesong and Lullaby were to purposefully lighten the mood of Disintegration (RS says this in other interviews).

      If you really think all these excellent songs, to name a few, are "crap", then I have a hard time to believe that you enjoy KissMe and TheHeadOnTheDoor. Are you certain you would have liked those 2 albums if they had been released after Disintegration ?
      Anyways, it's highly subjective and often altered by one's own expectations.
      I don't like all recent stuff, but part of it I like as much as the pre-90 stuff.
