Another option is using a water bucket. Flip the bucket upside down and place it on your left side, put your left hand on the bucket to hold yourself up. Make sure when doing these drills that you are still focusing on the basics and keeping your knees over your toes, you don't want to rely on the bucket too much, just enough to help you get on the outside edge.

Sorry for the delay, we didn't notice your comment.
The fundamentals of skating apply to everyone, no matter your height or weight. Strengthening major muscle groups and stabilizing muscles will help you maintain a good skating position.

During a single leg glide you want to be on your flats. Knee over toes, pressure going directly down into the ice.

I just double checked and there are 3 of our videos that aren't available on my iPhone platform. This is because we used third party songs in the videos and every third party can set their own guidelines on copyright issues. So in the case of those videos they are unfortunately not viewable on certain platforms.

Make sure your non-gliding leg is not acting like a rudder behind. Your core stability is also important in helping you stay square.

If you have a partner you can have them glide beside and hold you up by your right hand, allowing you to lean just enough to work on the outside edge.

that fun outside drill, is quite helpful, my problem is getting on my left side edge and leaning. Any tips for getting over the fear of doing cross overs?

perfect! thanks! one major obstacle that is in the way for me i believe is my weight (im 222lbs) and the gut acts like a sand bag, sometimes, and i think it has hindered a lot But i have heard that one can still do those drills, be able to get on the outside edge and lean enough. what do you think?

Of course not. You have two legs so you should try to use them both equally.
