      The way I did it, the beads were locked in before I put the first screw in. The other thing to consider is that not everyone has the right size nut & bolt to do it that way ether? • @rcwreck-creation
      @rcwreck-creation 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! Really? That’s crazy!?... now is it being “ripped” or cut? There is a difference.... If it’s being ripped, well that involves a lot of force that you shouldn’t have to apply? But if it’s being cut, then that means the thickness of the rubber may be to much for those wheels? So the space that locks the bead is to small for the thickness of the tire and the sharp edges of the inner ring is just slicing into the rubber when it’s tightened down? I can’t say for sure without seeing myself, but that’s all I can com up with from what your asking me?

    • @rcwreck-creation
      @rcwreck-creation 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it is being cut, see if you can find a thinner (by like a millimetre or 2) inner-ring for the wheels? Or try a tire that’s a thinner gage of rubber?..... wish I could offer more help then that bud.

      Personally I’m happy with how well the cooking spray worked. So “would petroleum jelly work better?” I can’t really answer that.
      I can’t see any reason petroleum jelly wouldn’t work (if used properly).
      Another thing I’m thinking is: Once the tire is on? The petroleum jelly is going to stay longer while the cooking spray will most likely dissipate & rinse off more quickly? I could also be wrong about that too? So the most honest answer I can give is I’m not very familiar with petroleum jelly.
      Thanks so much for the good question. I hope the video was enjoyable, & helped you, even to think of an even better way to do it?
      Thanks again.

      Sounds like the tire rubber is to thin to be caught in the inner ring? Wish I could help ya better than that man?..

    Use rubbing alcohol. It lubes then evaporates

      @@rcwreck-creation Im not good looking enough to make a video or be in front of a camera. Trust me.
      Anyway, no matter what I have done to my Rally rc4wd beadlocks, the bead still slips out of lock. Personally, I think it's just a bad design. And I used the same tire rim combo they were advertising with those rims. They show them on a yellow Blazer.

      @@sagnhill Sorry to hear that man! That was one of the problems I had too! I’d get to the point where I thought everything was good & lined up properly & by the time I had tightened up all the screws, sure enough part of the bead of the tire would slip out. So I totally get what you’re saying & I do talk a little about that in the video too.
      I now have 3 sets of these RC4WD deep dish wheels, did the same process from this video to all of them & not one bead-slip-out yet (knock on wood). I can’t guarantee it’ll work for everyone, but it’s worked every time with 3different sets of tires for me so far. Not to mention I’ve taken two sets completely apart to change foams too, & didn’t have any issues assembling again with this method.

      @@rcwreck-creation Im going to try one last time on my rc4wd Blazer. I did exactly like you did with your rims and tires. Even using PAM. She was willing too. Bad joke I know. Im 60 years old getting back into the RC hobby after 40 years of work and family. So far I have built the Tamiya reissue of the RN36 Bruiser, and a TT-02 NSX with the YeahRacing converstion kit. Plus I have a proboat a SCX10II and a wraith spawn. All with hopups. I cant leave em stock. I just bought a sand scorcher. I had one back in the day. I have a list of about 40-50 RCs I want to build and RTRs I want to buy. Retirement has its perks. I just wish they had youtube back in the 70s and 80s. Sure would have made life easier.
