Great video, thank you. I bought my gerber bowie back in 1994 in high school in Montana. Carried it in about 8 different countries on deployments in the Marine Corps. I still carry this with me every day that I'm in the woods here in Idaho. Along with a good bear gun. I should retire this knife, but why. Probably Probably
Back then gerber made knives that actually made good looking knives, I remember I saw it in their catalog and really wanted one(couldn’t afford something like that back then) now gerber only makes very cheap looking knives. Thanks for sharing it is a trip down the memory lane.:)
Great specimen you got there. I own various Gerber products, not older ones. I recently inherited the finest BOWIE I've ever come across. Walnut handle, brass hand guard / pommel, and blade made of 52-100 ball bearing steel. Best of all , its a true CONVEX grind, very uncommon for knives now a days. A true beauty.
These were made in Italy by a company named Fox that was a premium knife maker at the time...still may be in operating...not sure. They were under contract by Gerber to make these then imported into the U.S.

Cool vintage knives. I’m glad this one wasn’t pristine when I bought it. I would be afraid to use it

I believe all knives should be ludicrously sharp at all times...
Right. Or what’s the point lol
Super good edge. Nice job.
Thank you
That's a sick Gerber and I too suffer from the "half-drank water bottles" phenomena around my house as well...lol 🤣
Lol. They appear out of thin air 😂
Glad you got that one. I was surprised Gerber ever made such a cool bowie !
I don’t know why they stopped lol
I used to look at that Gerber all the time in the U.S. Cavalry catalog as a kid...cool stand too...
Thank you. Boredom struck lol
