    This was a fun metal detection and bottle dump-digging adventure. The coin Jim found is a rare and collectible one, unfortunately, the details on the front and back are disappointing at best. I hope you like the video!

    I love all of your vids, Chigg! This is fun, an old private racetrack and it's treasures! You and Jim are the real treasures actually. Great start early in the day, it looks like ! You make such a positive contribution to so many lives, in many different ways. A better legacy than coins or gold !

He met my mom (also from the Midwest) in 1949 in Eugene Oregon, when they both escaped the extreme weather back there. They soon moved to Portland, where I was born.     When I used to hunt in my younger days. I found a old place where during the prohibition’s people set up a makeshift bar and people used to party. I would find old cough medicine bottles. Father johns medicine bottles . And now that I’m into metal detecting I’m gonna go back one of these days and metal detect the spot ,it’s way out in the middle of the woods on public land. I think it’s gonna be a really fun hunt one day

    Hey Chig, that "Bar" is from either a Rim Lock or Inset Lock it's the "Lock Bolt", you know, for a house door. Age 80-140 years old,. It could go with the key part you found.

    Don’t worry about the glove people. When you work with your hands long enough, you get immune to cuts. However good old country sites are one thing, Metro areas are a different story.

    you should come to this old dump from 1850 1875. it’s along a major river in the upstate SC. pulled some wild stuff from there and over the years.

    My grandpa always would eat his meals out of pie plates growing up... the tin pie plates were maybe used to bring meals to the fields so that if they were dropped you weren't breaking your glass plates maybe???

    Sycamore trees have helicopter seeds. I think the tree by the river was a silver birch. It might be a UK / US thing.

      I didn't know that. Kinda like our (US) "buzzards" being the large black carrion eaters and you calling your hawks "buzzards". Our hawks (birds of prey) are never called buzzards. That caused me A LOT of confusion over there in the U.K. until I figured out what was going on.
