My husband of 48 years died this year. His ashes were scattered in the Chesapeake Bay and our celebration of his life ended at the firepit on the beach on the Rappahanock River July 4th with this song. Thank you Randy Travis.
I’m going to sing this to my boyfriend! ❤ I’m absolutely crazy over him and he sets my heart of fire 💞❤️🔥❤️ I sure hope he knows how special he is to me❣️FOREVER AMEN 🙏🏻

I lost the most beautiful woman I have ever known 25 years ago this month (November) and this was a song I always played when we were dating and even afterwards. Even now she is the first thing I think of in the morning and that last thing on my mind as I fall asleep at night. RIP, Kitten.
I get so emotional listening to this song. I had a good man and three children. God has now called my Sweetheart, both of my daughters, my Mother, my Father and all of my siblings home except one. Now it's just my son, my brother and myself left. Until we are all together again I love them all forever and ever, AMEN.

The song itself was written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz. That's not to take anything away from Randy Travis's iconic performance of it though. He was the perfect choice to perform it.
Oh so sorry about your lost lisa... i believe God has a reason for everything and may his soul rest in Heaven with our lord....I guess you must be a true fan of Randy tell me what's your favorite Randy song ?

I'm so sorry. But he's with God and every one of his loved ones right now. You'll see him again one day, but right now you need to live. We're here for a reason.
The most amazing thing I do appreciate in America is Country music such as Randy Travis and Billy Walker.Wonderful sounds that take me to the wide west.A fun from Algeria
I don’t have a sad comment to share, just want to tell the people I’m a gangster from the hood somewhere in Europe and I can tell you this is a great song man, Randy Travis is a g, on the dead drillers 💯 🔥

32 years ago my husband sang this to me on our wedding day. Beautiful song; the words are all true. We are still together, with grey hair now and still serving GOD.
I heard this song soon after my husband died. We were married 57 years and still very much in love. It’s as if I’m hearing him when I listen to this song. He loved me forever but it just wasn’t long enough. I don’t know how things work in heaven but I pray when the Lord calls me home my sweet husband will be waiting next to Jesus when I cross over and we will be together for eternity🙏🥰
Kathryn, your story touched me and I wanted to share with you my belief that families can be eternal and not just until death do you part. Thank you for sharing, I hope my upcoming marriage lasts as long as yours has😊
Oh sorry about your lost dear i believe God has a reason for everything and I pray his soul rest in heaven with our lord....I guess you must be a true / real fan of Randy...tell me what's your favorite Randy song and how long have you been is fan?
Randy, I read about your amazing recovery from health issues. As a fellow Texan with brain surgeries and other health struggles, wishing you improving health and good wishes, brother. And thanks for your beautiful music!! This one is a good’n.
This used to be my grandpas favorite song and he used to listen to it on repeat all day long, sadly the last time he played it was on his deathbed fighting liver and lung cancer in august of 2017. I’ve now took his job of listening to it and showing the family how many memories it truly holds for us and to show how much we’ve grown.
This made me cry I lost my daddy in 2009 to lung cancer for some reason which I can’t remember I was 5 when he passed this song reminds me off him and seeing your comment has brought so many memories of my father and grandfathers, I hope your okay ❤
Like another great young soul like me said, I love seeing all the stories about everyone’s marriages. I myself don’t belong in this generation & wish I could’ve been born before this one. I will one day sing this to my gf/ wife when I finally meet her.
This is my parents' song! Their first date was a Randy Travis concert in 1988 - the story goes it was supposed to be a whole group of their college friends, but one by one most of them had to back out. Finally my mom admitted to my dad she would like to go anyway, just the two of them. They'll be having their 32nd anniversary in August!
This was my grandparents song and at the request of my grandmother I performed it at my grandfather's funeral. Probably the hardest performance I ever did especially trying to maintain my composure to sing while my grandma broke down
My dad used to say when he was living , it looked like when Randy sang the words just float out of his mouth. my dad used to love to hear Randy Travis sing. He was a big fan.
My wife left me 8 days ago. And I deserved the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. Because I took her for granted and let petty things come between us. She was over and done. But I just talked to her for hours on the phone and sent her this song and we remembered our most precious memories in the last 18 years and I felt hope out of nowhere in our love and then the closest thing to pure joy short of the Holy Spirit. May God forgive and hear my prayer and restore my family. Either way.. I will love and trust in him with all my heart to direct my footsteps and walk in his grace.
To recognize the wrongs is a step in the right direction, il pray for you and your family. Stay hopefull my friend God always has something amazing for you❤
Just wake up smiling and in a state of gratitude. A good woman doesn’t want much. Just her husband’s happiness. If you never act happy, they blame themselves and start believing their role is pointless.
saw him perform this live at royal albert hall 37/38 yrs ago accapella, the most amazeing performance i've ever seen by anyone, still love him all these yrs later
Congratulations Randy, on being inducted into the Country Hall of Fame. We love you and are sorry that you are ill. We are wishing you a complete recovery and hope you will be able to make another hit record. Our prayers to you and your family.
There are just those songs every once in awhile that You replay over and over then rewind before it finishes starting it over and singing it till the jaw hurts as if You made that tune Yourself...damn We live in a world of legends past and present indeed! ❤❤❤❤
I grew up with music like this and now that I'm 15 I finally understand this song, this is what I want, like what my grandparents who showed me this song had they were married 55 years before my grandpa passed two years ago I'm writing this as my grandma is in the hospital, I'm so ashamed of the young generation I was born in, I believe that I do not belong here for this is all I want whereas my generation is all about hookups.
Randy Travis is so courageous!! He never gave up against something that could have taken his life We can all learn about the power of the human spirit. God Bless you Randy.
Some people are put on this earth gifted with specific talents with the perfectly designed pure purpose of bringing joy to others, or rather our souls. And the healing of them as well. Randy Travis, you are one of those select chosen few. Thank you for bringing me happiness into my life when I needed it and healing my soul when it was broken. And best of all, now that I found my love, I understand your words and music in a whole new way. You were blessed, and you in turn blessed us all. Thank you.
I think this song means . This is a beautiful song . This is the way it should be . His love will always be there . Even until his dying days . For Ever And Ever , Amen
This was "our song" from the time it came out. Today I tried to sing it and finally realize I can no longer sing. I was told in 2013 I could have surgery to fix by the surgeon who performed open heart surgery on me. I really want to cry but I will keep the memory of singing it so long ago. Thank you, thank you so much for this song and all the others too.
Last summer my nana (grandma on mom's side) got sick 3 days before I got home from a 2 week church camp and she died the next day and I just remembered this song a few hours ago which would always play when she listened to country music (fishing in the dark was also one of her favorites) ➕ 🙏 ♥ 🕊
As a 56 year old guy from the UK, I only came across this wonderful song a couple of months ago. Yes we have all heard of the other wonderful Country Music acts and how wonderful they are! This is a guy, who despite his difficulties in his earlier life sings such a beautiful song.
There's something about good old classic country. It's like ice tea on a hot day. It has a way of telling a story that you want to hear over and over again. It's the small things in life that make everything worth wild. A memory of a dance a memory of a loved one and even a smell will bring back a smile. To whom ever this touches in a way that brings back a smile. Cheers to my fellow rocking chair listeners.
Wow Mr Randy, in fact your voice is marvelous and there is not a single time your voice gives me this feeling. You are unique and these sounds behind your voice and that of the instruments makes you different from many artist. Greatest country singer of all times Sir and my prayer is to come across you someday and may God keep strengthening you. God bless you.
Lyrics You may think that I'm talkin' foolish You've heard that I'm wild and I'm free You may wonder how, I can promise you now This love that I feel for you always will be But you're not just time that I'm killin' I'm no longer one of those guys As sure as I live, this love that I give Is gonna be yours until the day that I die Oh, baby! I'm gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen! As long as old men sit n' talk about the weather As long as old women sit n' talk about old men If you wonder how long I'll be faithful I'll be happy to tell you again I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen! They say that time takes it's toll on a body Makes a young girl's brown hair turn gray But, honey, I don't care, I ain't in love with your hair And if it all fell out, well, I'd love you anyway They say time can play tricks on a memory Make people forget things they knew Well, it's easy to see, it's happenin' to me I've already forgotten every woman but you Oh, darlin'! I'm gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen! As long as old men sit n' talk about the weather As long as old women sit n' talk about old men If you wonder how long I'll be faithful Well, just listen to how this song ends I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen! I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever Forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen!
RIP to the greatest dad ever with my mother for 49 years until severe congestive heart failure took him last year. Thanks Randy Travis they loved this song since I was kid.
Been listening to this song a lot lately. I rediscovered it not too long ago, and it helped pull me out of depression. It helped me realize that I still have a lot of love to give in my life. A lot of love to give to everyone in life, but I definitely want to find that special girl to spend the rest of my life with. As Randy says, “Forever and ever, amen.”
I was so lucky in 1990 in Winnipeg Manitoba at Randy's concert, he got down on one knee and sang this to me, we shared an amazing moment, I'll never forget it. ❤️❤️
Nothing is better than Randy Travis singing! I have loved him for years! So sorry about his stroke! All that wonderful music! Will always love his songs!
Thanks Randy and God bless you. You not only were one of my wife and I's first concert but a big favorite. You also were a big favorite of my cousin Hermie . The last recording of his voice was singing forever and ever amen. Sadly he passed in a bad accident shortly after. But he loved country music and most of all you Mr. Travis . Thank you . Your music has touched and blessed so many.
it’s crazy how this song ties to so many peoples lives. everytime i need a good cry i listen to this song. i was 5 years old when my parents were struggling with IVF with my brother. when god blessed us with him, my dad would sing this to us every night before bed. the memories come rushing in. oh to go back when life was that simple. thank you so much randy travis ❤️
The first time my husband & I traveled together as a couple when we were dating we found ourselves in a small cafe in the middle of nowhere. The cafe had a jukebox. I went over and this song was on there. Put my money in and played this song for my then boyfriend. I sang it to him under the glare of the fluorescent lights as we drank our bad coffee. This October we're celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.
I never heard this song till my best friend unfortunately took his own life. His family put together a slideshow of him growing up with several songs and this was the last song. Now eveeytime I hear it I start to tear upt thinking of the good times we had together. R.I.P Randel
This song just makes me fall in love all over again with my husband. I love the sweetness in this song! Thanks Randy,You sure are a talented soul.Much love from Kenya
I've never been in a relationship before. Nowadays, it seems like everybody just wants to have a fun time, but I found this girl who is perfect. I can't hide my love for her. She lives far away, but my heart lives with her. I love you.
My beautiful mother passed away this Monday evening (5-6-24) and she loved this song. I’ll play this song during our slide show for her Celebration Of Life on the 21st. I’ll miss you forever and ever mom…… Amen…✨✨🥹🙏🏿
My husband Just Passed and went home to be with Jesus the evening of 05--14--2024 we loved this song and would play it and sing it together I miss him so much already
Played this song to my Dad the day before he died. Almost 4 years ago, seems like a lifetime, he loved all country music, but this is 1 that reminds me so much of him.. A few days after Dad's funeral I drove his car to the cemetery and this song came on the local radio station I was listening to.. Always in my heart 💕
Such a good song
I sang this after my husband died of cancer in 2016. I just released his ashes today. I will love him forever.
Ohhh...I'm so sorry and I can feel your pain and sadness. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your husband. May he RIP.
My husband of 48 years died this year. His ashes were scattered in the Chesapeake Bay and our celebration of his life ended at the firepit on the beach on the Rappahanock River July 4th with this song. Thank you Randy Travis.

I think this song means . This is a beautiful song . This is the way it should be . His love will always be there . Even until his dying days . For Ever And Ever , Amen
My late husband would sing this song to me.. I miss ya big guy and love ya forever and a day ❤️
This was "our song" from the time it came out.
My Dad loved this song, he passed away today 😢, love you Dad.❤
As a 56 year old guy from the UK, I only came across this wonderful song a couple of months ago. Yes we have all heard of the other wonderful Country Music acts and how wonderful they are! This is a guy, who despite his difficulties in his earlier life sings such a beautiful song.
Hello Roger....I guess you must be a true / real fan of Randy...tell me what's your favorite Randy song and how long have you been is fan?
Lyrics
You may think that I'm talkin' foolish
You've heard that I'm wild and I'm free
You may wonder how, I can promise you now
This love that I feel for you always will be
But you're not just time that I'm killin'
I'm no longer one of those guys
As sure as I live, this love that I give
Is gonna be yours until the day that I die
Oh, baby! I'm gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen!
As long as old men sit n' talk about the weather
As long as old women sit n' talk about old men
If you wonder how long I'll be faithful
I'll be happy to tell you again
I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen!
They say that time takes it's toll on a body
Makes a young girl's brown hair turn gray
But, honey, I don't care, I ain't in love with your hair
And if it all fell out, well, I'd love you anyway
They say time can play tricks on a memory
Make people forget things they knew
Well, it's easy to see, it's happenin' to me
I've already forgotten every woman but you
Oh, darlin'! I'm gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen!
As long as old men sit n' talk about the weather
As long as old women sit n' talk about old men
If you wonder how long I'll be faithful
Well, just listen to how this song ends
I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen!
I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever
Forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen!
❤
Thanks
Thank you❤

He is country. I pray for him.He grew up how we did. Randy is a music to all. It's the voice; we can never replace. Amen.
THATS JUST SO SWEET...ITS HARD 2 FIND THAT SPECIAL PERSON..
It would be lovely to know if you have found that special person
I'm still searching xx
Found mine, but I wasn't good enough, so ends that part of my life.
I was so lucky in 1990 in Winnipeg Manitoba at Randy's concert, he got down on one knee and sang this to me, we shared an amazing moment, I'll never forget it. ❤️❤️

This was my grandmas favorite song, and she passed away in 2021 and all I do is cry 😢

it’s crazy how this song ties to so many peoples lives. everytime i need a good cry i listen to this song. i was 5 years old when my parents were struggling with IVF with my brother. when god blessed us with him, my dad would sing this to us every night before bed. the memories come rushing in. oh to go back when life was that simple. thank you so much randy travis ❤️
Scorned in the vengeance of Love is a simultaneous interaction of occurrence between a agreement or tribulation that might or might not exist.
I've grown up with country and western music. Now I have my own family and it makes me smile when they sing along too.
That’s beautiful. ❤️
