Also during the Main Road scene. The Tyrannosaurus wasn't supposed to go down as far as it did, which caused it to break the glass, and lose a tooth...the screams from Lex (Ariana Richards) and Tim (Joe Mazzello) were from genuine fear, and confusion.
This movie was one of my first obsessions as a baby, I still love Jurassic Park, it'll always be one of my favorite movies of all time, and the T-Rex was always my favorite dinosaur!
The most shocking and interesting part for me was sound designer Gary Rydstrom's part in all this. This movie left an impression in my mind as to how dinosaurs sound. I can only imagine how he must feel knowing the impact he left on the world forever. It's amazing knowing those sounds came from living creatures we're familiar with today.
Some of the scenes were filmed on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Unfortunately, on September 11, 1992, Hurricane Iniki came by and wiped out Kauai, and not only it destroyed all the buildings, houses, telephone poles and trees, but also the Jurassic Park sets (Like Ray Arnold's death scene set). But luckily, Spielberg and the cast and crew remained safe in a hotel and helped clear away the debris afterwards. Also, Spielberg's home footage of Hurricane Iniki battering the Kaua'i coastal walls was included in the movie as part for the tropical storm's appearance.
There's a Netflix special about Jurassic park and the special effects guy didn't want computer graphics at all actually. Some guy on staff did it anyways and set it up so important people would see it on a loop when they went in for a different viewing. Very interesting.
I heard that Tim’s actor Joseph Mazello auditioned for the role of jack in hook but didn’t get the part and Stephen Spielberg liked his audition and told him he could be in his next film which was Jurassic park
I remember to this very day when I was the only one at school who missed out seeing the movie, I asked my classmates who seen it to tell me the ending and their response was an intoduction about warning about spoilers.
Fun fact that he never mentioned in the video. Samuel L Jackson was supposed to get a chase and death scene but the set they were supposed to work on got blown away by a real life hurricane
The archaeological scene of Dr Grant using geophysics to detect a buried raptor skeleton is all wrong as well. They use a shotgun shell as their energy source to produce a radar image. The shell is a seismic energy, while radar is a form of light energy. It’s like using a drum to record a photograph.
I still don't understand how they didn't see a huge frickin T-rex in the room. It's huge how can you not see it or hear it? And how did it even get in?
4:27 & 5:06 And yet, another plot hole never fully explained. 4:27 Loud, 'redwood-falling' foot steps of the T-Rex vs. 5:06.Ballerina and ninja-like stealth footsteps ...of the same exact creature. ... Huh?
I hate the fact that Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs 2 was plagarized from this one. Honestly it's just sad that such a great movie can become a sad knock off
This is fake news... comercial knowledge, ILM did not want to create 3D dinos, Murray even requested his artist not to show any development...but... they had something called "balls" and they did it any way, so they make their PC screens to run the walk cycle of a gallimimus when Spielberg went to ILM and figured out a way to "show it" to him, against Murray orders, Spielberg and Kenedy were surprised to see this and decided to kill the stop motion and go for CGI... the T-rex walk and galli chace, came way latter wen they already had decided to do CGI dinos.
One of the greatest movie franchises 🙌
I never knew that they used animal sounds for the dinosaur noises. That's really cool.
Ya, pretty neat huh?
Oh yea, they used a dolphin and a walrus for the raptor scream I believe.
Also during the Main Road scene. The Tyrannosaurus wasn't supposed to go down as far as it did, which caused it to break the glass, and lose a tooth...the screams from Lex (Ariana Richards) and Tim (Joe Mazzello) were from genuine fear, and confusion.
The Rex bursting through the glass roof was in the storyboard. It was planned.
It was the best!
@paulsophocleous2544 yes, but not at that speed

You know the noise of the Dilophosaurus was actually created by a certain type of bird chirping
Swans, Baby Ostrich, Egret, and Hawk. The only 2 non bird sounds used were, Howler Monkey's and Rattlesnakes.

2:59 When Spielberg was in his car playing "Earth Wind & Fire", i wonder if he was listening to "Shining Star" or "September"?
Learned more facts about my favorite movie. Top notch video.
I knew most of them but not the one about the religious connotations with the main theme

I think Stephen's decision to bring Rexy back in the end was a great call. I couldn't imagine any other ending.
I remember to this very day when I was the only one at school who missed out seeing the movie, I asked my classmates who seen it to tell me the ending and their response was an intoduction about warning about spoilers.

Completely different sort of fact....: 0:51, that's Adam Jones, guitarist to the band Tool. The more you know :-p
1993? so according to my math, which isn't great, this movie is about 28 years old? that's crazy man!
I still don't understand how they didn't see a huge frickin T-rex in the room. It's huge how can you not see it or hear it? And how did it even get in?
Always felt the same way makes no sense
Can you do christmas story please🎅

How did the T-rex get into the museum? The doors weren't big enough to fit through.
4:27 & 5:06 And yet, another plot hole never fully explained.
4:27 Loud, 'redwood-falling' foot steps of the T-Rex vs. 5:06.Ballerina and ninja-like stealth footsteps ...of the same exact creature. ... Huh?
Good observation but I mean, that’s a movie for ya. I thought the same about how they didn’t notice the brachiosaurus in a convertible jeep
I hate the fact that Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs 2 was plagarized from this one. Honestly it's just sad that such a great movie can become a sad knock off
Do the prequel star wars movies
Pleeeezzzzz
Why doesn't the sound work?
Jurassic Park is frightenig in the dark all the Dinosaurs are running wild
When the t rex try to eat the kids, the window on top of the car broke which should nt have happen in the script
And even to this day I've still not forgiven my brother for deliberately making sure I didn't get to the cinema to watch this
Why did he do that?
F
i never want dinos to be real. if they were real i would get hurt!

The main theme sounds JUST like "Frosty The Snowman."
Change my mind
The original is the best. These sequels, especially Jurassic World are trash.
Not the Lost World that one is my favorite
