This movement is the 2892 based movement that Longines uses. It's a big step up from the Powermatic 80 and usually reserves for more expensive watches. Its thinner, more expensive, winds buttery smooth. It's a HUGE value play at this price and people should be freaking out about this.
is all of those things, but they are not playing that movement up. And of course they downgrade the movements in the same way you can downgrade a jet engine. Make this as good as a tag very easily.
This ability to quick adjust is probably better than 80-90% of the bracelets out there, not a bad percentile, and at this price. I'd also mention, I like how one can adjust it smaller without hitting the two buttons. Those buttons are only needed when making it larger. My Mido gets about .5 seconds a day. Each watch/brand competes in their own way. Mido obviously sells value for the dollar. Thanks for providing the review.
Wow Teddy, you are killing it with the cinematography. The butterfly lighting is excellent, I highly recommend continuing with that style when speaking to the camera. Very elegant.
I've been wearing a Ocean Star GMT as my daily for the last year, and that on the fly adjustment is perfect for fine tuning the fit during the day, especially on warmer days.
i have the mido ocean star 200c in blue that i purchased from teddys online store, it is my favorite watch in the collection and my real go to time piece. and i have to say i actually disagree about the adjustment on the clasp which looks to be the very same as presented on this model. it is wonderful and a very welcome addition. functionally very solid and effortless and it is so nice to have that instant ability to micro adjust the bracelet in less than a second. if only all my watches had that clasp. iam very tempted by one of these new offerings. the hard part is which one. that black with the black rubber strap looks super cool and that blue to black variant is very attractive. ah the problems of being a watch enthusiast.
Thanks for this well-made review! Beautiful face on this watch and some nice changes from the Ocean Star 200C collection. Pleased to see crown is now a bit larger but wish there were crown guards. Not sure why Mido is going with an aluminum bezel insert and no changes to the bracelet from their 200C series. Disagree re the on the fly adjustment on the clasp-wish all my watches had it!
Nice new collection . All these dive watches are attractive . I am guilty, i have underestimated MIDO during 20 years . Now i have change my mind . I understand all the MIDO experience and knowledge in design and manufacture high quality watch.
I had been searching for my first automatic Swiss watch for 2 years by now (Owning many Seikos, casios and What not). Well last week I checked this out at a dealer thanks to your video. I could not resist. after it was on my wrist and experienced its elegance and well built quality I pulled the triger. I have to tell with a small wrist you dont have many choices at this price point. You have Tissot with the Powermatic, but it is thick. The Certina Ds action diver 38mm is the other one (two tone/or regular) but honestly the refined finish quality is far behind Midos. Thank you again for the review Ted!
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
This watch came out of nowhere; what specs, what design and overall package, all for 1000 green ones? Wow! BTW there is also a GMT that is slightly more expensive (dug) but retains the same overall features.
Just got the black and grey one and it looks stunning in the flesh 🔥 Plus it wears really well on my 6,5" wrist, the thickness being the big highlight!
Is it really black and grey or just black with different light angles? I think this one is the no 1 on my tobuy list :)) what about the legibility? Aren't the waves too much on direct sunlight?
@liptak15 Mine is black and grey, same as the black and blue with anthracite instead of blue. But then you also have an all black one, with black case and orange markers. The waves look nice but indeed in direct light it is not as legible as a plain black dial but at the same time, by slightly changing the angle, it changes totally and gets way more legible. In conclusion, I'm willing to make the compromise for the more interesting dial ;)
Nice looking watch and review. I read Mido is very popular in Mexico. I own an ocean star GMT with a 40.5 diameter case. It’s quite wearable. Decent value for the money.
They are! They even release a different Day of the Dead limited edition every year, exclusive to Mexico. They seem popular in most spanish/latin-speaking countries as well due to the name
I think its a great watch with a really nice look, but two things i would have liked differently: 1. Ceramic bezel insert. Ceramic bezel inserts just look SO much more quality and in my opinion would really elevate the watch. Aluminium bezels look "cheap" to me. 2. Dial coloration. To me the dial represents the ocean, and therefore the deeper water (lower dial) should be darker, the top part should be lighter. Alternatively make lower part represent the ocean, have a "horizon" in the middel, and upper part be a sky and adjust the colors accordingly. Things that positivly stand out to me on this watch: - the applied markers look great, also quality wise - the date window is very nicely facetted with that window with a real border - great case size and nice big crown
By your logic then Black bay 58 is a crap cuz it had aluminiim bezel and way more inferior movement compare to this in Mido which is repacked Longines L 888 while Tudor offered for 20 years puny 2824.
If I remember correctly you did an interview with the CEO awhile back. He didn’t bite when you asked about smaller case sizes. Guess he didn’t want to give it away.
That Batman looking one looks quite stunning. I have the seiko GMT, but that watch blows it out of the water. Looks like it's worth the extra money. And I adore my Seiko. That's a stunning dial.
That is a stunner. So nice to see all the measurements playing nice with each other. Usually one of the measurements is a weird outlier between case size, thickness, lug width, and lug to lug.
8:01 I strongly disagree with the verdict on the on-the-fly adjustment. Mido's mechanism is one of the best and most useful out there in the market, especially for those with real needs of adjusting the bracelet. It is easy to operate and it bears a far better flexibility than other adjustment mechanisms with fixed positions.
Agreed. Have the same on the fly adjustment on my Certina DS Action Diver which I picked up about 10yrs ago and it simply rocks. No need to open up the clasp to make an adjustment and/or briefly remove the watch like some other "refined" mechanisms out there. This is an ideal mechanism for extremely quick adjustments throughout the work day. It's simple, not overengineered and reliably does what it is supposed to do without any mucking about. I've bought a bunch of similar stainless clasp mechanisms for my old Tissot 100m sport diver chronos and I'm extremely happy with the functionality and ease of adjustment. Wishing that Seiko had something like this for their more entry level divers vs. the cumbersome diver extensions found on their mid tier offerings. The ratcheting mechanism on the MM300 and the GS diver bracelets is the more complex version of this.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the amzwatch, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
Teddy is the best with reviews and watches on his website. I personally know cause I have purchased two of them. The Mido GMT Ocean star captain V. Which is awesome, and now the new Certina should be getting today. Look forward to purchasing more Watches on his website.
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. amzwatch brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
Not sure what the point would be. They are both lower tier Swatch group products assembled in Switzerland from Chinese made parts and a P80 movement inside. The only differences are when it comes to design. So buy what you like because Tissot, Certina, Hamilton, Mido and Rado make (assemble) the same watch. One is not better than the other.
The defect on the N in Ocean Star was not appealing, that said, overall I like the brand's offerings, and the official Cosc chronometers at the price points can't be beat IMO. I heard they are bigger and advertised in other countries just not in the U.S.A. I know many balk at the case sizes at 42 and 43 mm, so 39 will please many who didn't decide Mido for that reason. 38-42 works for me so I never had an issue. Nice job on the feature/review and camera work as always Teddy.
Agree with the others that the sand/gold one is gorgeous. I would wear it for sure. Weird though the 12 marker looks crooked 6:52 in the yellow one, but precise in the blue one???? That would be an issue for me.
It’s a cool release from Mido, but I still prefer the new Tissot Seastar 40 mm. Although it’s nice to see that Mido is finally going smaller on their cases; can’t wait to see what’s next
Very, very similar to Certina DS Action Diver's 300m. Interesting point is that both brands had a patent on double security crown , that technology looks also similar.
Good looking watch with interesting sculpted dial, but a simple esthetic issue got by the face designers, the placement of the words, "swiss made" between minute marks. they don't quite fit between the markings. Smaller letters, different color, something could be done to balance them out.
Hey Teddy....All your contents are top notch..... Kudos to you and your team By the way, the shirts you wear are pure class❤❤❤❤ A follower from India🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
I really hate seeing this watch come out at this time. I’ve recently made the decision to move into the luxury watch category, with my first tudor purchase being kind of recent. . I have my eyes on omega, more tudor, breitling, etc. but this is a must have. That dial is amazing! I might wait and buy it second hand, after getting some of the ones i have my eye on now…but love this watch!!
Looks great. How many people who buy dive watches actually “dive”? I suspect not many. The all black looked great. I welcome not seeing the bracelet for once. Your folks make every watch look great.
Unfortunately Mido does not have official distribution in Spain. It seems to me to be a brand with excellent designs and quality. I hope the Swatch group reconsiders it...
I didn't realize that wave pattern was three-dimensional, that's gorgeous. I've always thought most wave patterns look kind of childish, but this and the Grand Seiko Lake Suwa absolutely pull it off. I also love the 39mm diameter and movement, and I've never actually had on-the-fly adjustment before, even if it's not the best at it
Ocean star 200C owner. I'm confused about the criticism of the quick adjust clasp, one of my favorite things about that watch. What are the better implementations in this price range? I also own a 62MAS, and hated that clasp / diver extension so much I bought a 3rd party bracelet.
I bought a watch from MaMaCoo lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
It would make more sense if the black and the blue were reversed. Just knit picking, really. I love my green Multifort TV big date. Mido watches are great, but I feel they need to pick up their game a little with the functionality of their bracelets.
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
That golden one looks stunning
This movement is the 2892 based movement that Longines uses. It's a big step up from the Powermatic 80 and usually reserves for more expensive watches. Its thinner, more expensive, winds buttery smooth. It's a HUGE value play at this price and people should be freaking out about this.
Yes it is but imho the "CALIBER 72" totally ruins the dial. Especially is it's a nonsense made up proprietary description of an well known movement...
Agreed! Another reason that I see Mido above Hamilton, Tissot and Certina. Just my opinion
is all of those things, but they are not playing that movement up. And of course they downgrade the movements in the same way you can downgrade a jet engine. Make this as good as a tag very easily.
@@SinnerAndSaint I was expecting when someone write that hate that sign XD. Tbh I couldn't care less about it. I don't mind it at all.
I was kinda iffy about this until I heard about the movement. Christopher Ward killer?
The black with orange dot is stunning.
This ability to quick adjust is probably better than 80-90% of the bracelets out there, not a bad percentile, and at this price. I'd also mention, I like how one can adjust it smaller without hitting the two buttons. Those buttons are only needed when making it larger.

B roll is godly.
I've been wearing a Ocean Star GMT as my daily for the last year, and that on the fly adjustment is perfect for fine tuning the fit during the day, especially on warmer days.
I usually do not like gold, but that champagne one is beautiful. That dial reminds sand dunes on the beach. :)
The MIDO Ocean Star GMT watch is currently on my radar.
i have the mido ocean star 200c in blue that i purchased from teddys online store, it is my favorite watch in the collection and my real go to time piece. and i have to say i actually disagree about the adjustment on the clasp which looks to be the very same as presented on this model. it is wonderful and a very welcome addition. functionally very solid and effortless and it is so nice to have that instant ability to micro adjust the bracelet in less than a second. if only all my watches had that clasp. iam very tempted by one of these new offerings. the hard part is which one. that black with the black rubber strap looks super cool and that blue to black variant is very attractive. ah the problems of being a watch enthusiast.

I’ve had a few Mido’s over the years and enjoyed them very much. Thanks for the brand history and achievements rundown
what a stunner! omega level refinement and what a dial
you can't be serious
I like it! Will wait for the titanium variant.
Miso is moving in the right direction with this collection. Like it very much. Thanks Teddy!
I like miso soup
good to see a 7" wrist for reference, thank you!
Mido is really impressing me with this one!
Never know what to ask for when Christmas rolls around, I am setting a reminder for thus in blue with black blue bezel. What a beautiful watch!
I had been searching for my first automatic Swiss watch for 2 years by now (Owning many Seikos, casios and What not).

I too prefer ceramic bezel inserts, however, on a more vintage inspired piece like this I can understand the choice in using an aluminum bezel insert.
Mido make quality watches. Impressed with the 1959 commander that I bought for my dad on Father’s Day
Just got the blue one! Batman and Ocean waves?! What's not to love?!
Mido is my favorite brand!
Just stunning dails.
Grand Seiko alternative.
hilarious.
That's a stunning dial.

looks cheap af
Mido in Mexico is the Swatch Group mainstream brand, this watch is insane value and I feel it’s going to sell great down here.
I really like that dial. Great video!
Purchased this watch from you today! Can't wait to get it.

It will be my next watch also!
I would like to have heard about movement accuracy.

Idea for video: Certina vs Mido small divers.

Mido all the way.
I bought my mum a Mido. Well specced, well built and has a beautiful guilloche and diamond dial.
She has a Tag and a Cartier but ONLY wears the Mido!
The defect on the N in Ocean Star was not appealing, that said, overall I like the brand's offerings, and the official Cosc chronometers at the price points can't be beat IMO. Good looking watching! Great review!
Agree with the others that the sand/gold one is gorgeous. I would wear it for sure. Weird though the 12 marker looks crooked 6:52 in the yellow one, but precise in the blue one???? That would be an issue for me.
Amazing watch and sizing, I just wish the dial wasn't so wavy!
That dial is awesome. I feel like font guy accidentally got a bit carried away and left "bold" on for all the dial text! 🤣Calm down, font guy!
It’s a cool release from Mido, but I still prefer the new Tissot Seastar 40 mm. Although it’s nice to see that Mido is finally going smaller on their cases; can’t wait to see what’s next
I rarely like divers, but the black-and-blue watch is gorgeous.
the one and only
teddy bulbasaur
one day he will evolve
Would love it if he puts a bulbasaur plush in a corner of his videos
That Batman is beautiful! If only the bezel were ceramic…. Gorgeous effect though!
Very, very similar to Certina DS Action Diver's 300m. Interesting point is that both brands had a patent on double security crown , that technology looks also similar.

Stunning watch!
Needs a ceramic bezel in my humble opinion.
Nice watch, seems like great value.
Hey Teddy....All your contents are top notch..... Kudos to you and your team

Would be interesting to compare this watch with Christopher Ward trident pro 300
Hey Teddy amazing work, as always. When you will test new spb453?
I really hate seeing this watch come out at this time. I’ve recently made the decision to move into the luxury watch category, with my first tudor purchase being kind of recent. . That's a good review 👍.
I wish they do this GMT version with 24h bezel, or 12h bezel. Sure a white version would be very wellcome
Thank you for making high quality videos!Love MaMaCoo ’s watches
Hey Teddy great video! Quick question: you mentioned other watches with better micro adjustments systems on the clasps, can you tell me which ones?
Stunning!
Looks great. How many people who buy dive watches actually “dive”? I suspect not many. The all black looked great. I welcome not seeing the bracelet for once. Your folks make every watch look great.
That dial should’ve been the dial for the omega seamaster 300m.
I like the sand colored dial, but the hands kind of disappear against it.
Beautiful watch.
Without date it would be awesome! Anyways, I like this timepiece very much!
Looks amazingly good! But a bit small on a 7 inch wrist😢
Unfortunately Mido does not have official distribution in Spain. It seems to me to be a brand with excellent designs and quality. I hope the Swatch group reconsiders it...
Some would prefer the Tribune model which has domed saphire and better bracelet.
Gorgeous. If I purchase one from your store Teddy, are you able to sell or supply extra links? I have 9.5 inch wrists.
Meh I thought that it was a GMT seeing the two tone display. The gradient should be smoother and more radial to evoke underwater depth gradient
I didn't realize that wave pattern was three-dimensional, that's gorgeous. I've always thought most wave patterns look kind of childish, but this and the Grand Seiko Lake Suwa absolutely pull it off.
I also love the 39mm diameter and movement, and I've never actually had on-the-fly adjustment before, even if it's not the best at it
God, if this dial was just a solid blue I'd fucking buy it.
Ocean star 200C owner. I'm confused about the criticism of the quick adjust clasp, one of my favorite things about that watch. What are the better implementations in this price range? I also own a 62MAS, and hated that clasp / diver extension so much I bought a 3rd party bracelet.
Mido is underrated in my opinion....
Dial is fantastic! Wish it was 40mm.
that was incredible. what a beautiful watch and what great work you did on it!AMZWATCH
Damn that is a nice dial
Super watch, but too small...i prefer 42 - 43 mm case and would buy, but dont know whether Mido thinks to made this model in other, bigger variant.
The blue dial is great, but it should have blue BGW9 lume, surely?!
I bought a watch from MaMaCoo lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
I Wonder where they might have gotten the inspiration for this. Maybe somewhere in Long Island... 🤔
Surely, the wave is casting horizontally?
Is that quick adjustment only fixed at the extreme ends or can it be adjusted anywhere along that extra piece of metal?
Extreme ends. It is for a wet suit. Unnecesaary, but a nice touch imo.
39 mm watches are so rare
An unremarkable offering. Wait for the Jomashop sale.
It would make more sense if the black and the blue were reversed. Just knit picking, really. I love my green Multifort TV big date. Mido watches are great, but I feel they need to pick up their game a little with the functionality of their bracelets.
That dial in a 41 would be an auto buy
And for the extra $100, improve the clasp extension mechanism.
Yet Seikotics where I'm from continue to praise 6R movements at exorbitant prices
Is the bezel alignment off, or am I seeing things?
no, I saw it too - on more than one watch. And once you see it ...
Got mine today. If you look at the watch straight on, it's barely off if it is at all.
I have never been disappointed since I became a customer of MaMacoo. Their watches are of exceptional quality.
All blue dial with all blue ceramic bezel. Increase the price by $100 and I'll buy it.
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Ever since I bought a watch from MaMaCoo , My question is if it's this hard to tell them apart, what is the point of owning an authentic watch?
