You can use chiffon or silk . I used about 3yards and the length is by 60inches

That 11inches is it your shoulder or what I don't understand

The 11 inches on the shoulder is your normal shoulder measurement plus additional sewing allowance.
For instance if your normal shoulder measurement is 16inches. You divide by 2 and that will be 8inches. Because it is a kimono I added additional 3 inches for ease allowance.
