If you want something that will always have the value of a dollar, just get actual dollars. Tether is extremely untransparent with their liquidity and solvency, which should be a huge red flag given the position they're supposed to hold. They're not an investment by nature, they're just a medium for exchanging money for crypto and vice versa and a shady medium at that.
So what should we use when selling our btc? Usdt or there is better stable coin?

I am trying to trade USDT from trust wallet to kucoin. The default fee is 30$ roughly 60gwei’s and I was wondering if I can make that lower manually. I see the option but what are the risks of it? How low can I make it go down? What’s the best time where the fees are low?

In my opinion, USDT is a currency that is suitable for storing funds, since USDT is pegged to the dollar, the risks are minimal. But it's better to invest in other currencies.

Tks for the breakdown. Going to watch the DAI one next. When the bull run happens and before it ends need to swap into stable coins for reentry and buying dips. Going with USDC at the moment but going to look into DAI. Tether is a hell no for me.

@@jj4028 DAI and USDC are good. Only con with USDC they can whitelist your wallet. They have kept people from moving funds if they feel its laundering or illegal. I prefer DAI at the time being. Each USDC is backed by a dollar.

The difference often comes down to fees for network transactions. With a Tron-based asset, like USDT on Tron, you have a certain number of free transactions you can make per day, and you can freeze some Tron to make even more transactions for free with your Tron-based asset. With Ethereum-based assets you pay network fees no matter what.

As for reliability, that's tough to say. There is no real evidence I can point to indicating one is more reliable over the other.

How can we know if the USDT we're buying on an exchange is the ERC-20 or the Omni version?
Also, is it possible to buy USDT on an exchange, transfer it into our Exodus wallet, then trade it for other coins from there?

@@mcmerry2846 I have since asking this question tried it... it does work, but... the exchange being used has minimum transaction requirements on many tokens and these seem to range for the most part between 400-500 USDT. I'm not sure if that is due to Exodus, the USDT exchange or the individual tokens exchanges.

What is the advantage of transferring a crypto to a stablecoin such as tether to retain asset gains, versus just outright selling your crypto for fiat if you are taxed the same either way?
I believe you can’t sell your crypto for fiat currency without somehow a transaction happens on a stable coin like usdt

This is an excellent question, Bouchra! We technically can't give out any tax advice since tax laws differ across the world. That being said, you can transfer your funds out of Exodus anytime, since you have full custody of your assets.
You may have to pay taxes based on when your government commands you to do so. Despite this, you should be able to move crypto from Exodus to another wallet.

@@exodus I am in USA . I have never used Exodus before.. The tax I supposed to pay is on my assets on ( platform investment (tether app) ) and it need to be paid only in 72 hours . I paid 10% to have extension of 48 hours . The late payment result on 5% of fees on each late day.. So I am looking for any possibility to make a transfer of these assets and get the funds so I can be able to use it to pay all the tax

Of course! It's what we do 😎. I'm not sure I would say "better," but there are pros and cons to each. USDT has the highest market cap out of all stablecoins. Nearly all DeFi protocols use USDT, but it is heavily centralized and backed by physical cash reserves, which has become a controversial topic in the crypto community. Alternatively, there are other stablecoins like Dai that are more decentralized and governed by smart contracts. I hope this helps!

hold your stable coin in USDC, USDT is now only backed by about 4% cash now! they print money more than the current Fed dollar. Tether will collapse when it comes to regulation season next year.

Tether is a trading tool, but certainly not a bomb that will crash the crypto industry.
USDT seems to be the most convenient, accessible and understandable coin for a beginner.
Tether might offer easier liquidity but it seems like a bad investment since it's tied to the US Dollar while the dollar is constantly losing value over time and it's very possible that hyperinflation is around the corner.
Finally someone sane, exactly only fucken stupid traders use it, use only fiat to crypto and crypto to fiat exchanges without scamcoins, cuz it can crash on purpose one day and then everything collapses because it's used as a trojan horse for masses imho. If tehter crash so will Bitcoin, we should never allow stablecoins exist in the first place.
@@cryptogymbro If you don't understand how it works, then you shouldn't say so loudly. USDT and other popular stable coins are fine and it is unlikely that anything will happen to them. Stable coins, in my opinion, are a way to lose less money during transactions, and I did not see a reason why they should not exist.

Fair question. Many stablecoins like USDT can be used on DeFi protocols like Compound.Finance to grow at some hefty percentage yields. While this is not investing advice, I encourage you to check out the Compound app in Exodus as one example of how you can put your stablecoins to work for you. Usdt isn't meant as a medium. It's meant as an in-between of Fiat and crypto.

Hi Jim 👋 I can definitely help. The main difference between trc20 and erc20 is that the former is a token that lives on the Tron blockchain. ERC20 assets or tokens live on the Ethereum blockchain. Thanks, I wish you'd make a video explaining how one can earn passive interest by lending USDT on crypto lending platforms. Some of them pay up to 13% interest rate like Hodlnaut and Celsius.
Don't use USDT, it's shady. Use other stable coins like BUSD, USDC, DAI, TerraUSD. USDT is gonna come down at some point and you're gonna lose all the loney that was invested in it.

Certainly, I'm more comfortable holding USDC or Dai (or a gold-backed crypto like PAXG). However, there are some exchanges..... exchanges which don't require KYC..... that require one to have USDT in order to exchange to another crypto.
