I'd be curious who the hell puts a thumbs down to commercial with the production quality of a Hollywood movie. I don't even like coffee, and I want to drink it due to BRCC.
When the fishermen rappelled in on fishing poles I lost it. I was laughing so hard. The children dogs were honestly terrifying though. I don't know how you pulled this off and got a store to agree to this but bravo man, you hit the nail on the head with this one. This is going to go viral. I would give anything to see the executives of those companies initial reaction to this skit.

A lot of customers turned in their credit cards because bAssPro was changing its gun regulations (you could no longer even look down the barrel). Of course they backed up on that after several more thousand people who were on the fence of turning in their cc's turned them in and told them to stuff it. But it was well known that in a crisis you could bet they would fold on their gun regulations against the customers rights. All because 1 customer did something bad in 50 states.
We had about 125 employees at our Cabelas. In less than one year, maybe 7 months, bAssPro fired 90% of our management in one day. They were very experienced help. Our store dropped customer count HUGE that month. All the friends and families of those 10 of so employees quit coming by. Word spread from there.
They totally lied when it came to new Cabelas products being developed. Cabelas products started vanishing quick and mostly bAssPro junky clothes fills the store. They did away with the guarantee. Now you pay at least an extra 25% additional cost of the product for a guarantee that's not a long time guarantee. Who couldn't afford to give away an extra free item every 4 customers if you have far less quality product? You're now paying for it.
In 3 years less than 8% of the crew had less than 1 years experience. A lot of employees left. I think we had 2 managers with more than 1 years experience.
We dropped 15% in sales 2017, when they bought us. I think they lost another 20% the next in 2018 and 2019 wasn't any better. Black Fri went from crazy busy 5am to noon and steady busy to 8pm to very slightly busy the first hour and barely busy the rest of the day. 30 million in sales to less than 19 million in 3 years. We had no help. Couldn't keep up when it did get busy.
Benefits completely changed. Not a little.... completely. In a bad way. The leadership from bAssPro treated us like we were ignorant when they came to train us "their style" and often made comments like "you Cabelas people". They made accusations in their emails, gave us faulty info in their emails and acted like we were at fault. Their credit card new bank people were rude and it was a quick transition. No new good news coming and lots more bad news on the way.
Basically they killed their own people. We had more stores than they did and now 50% of their new base heated them and more were looking for employment elsewhere. If not for the election crisis and gun/ammo shortages this local Cabelas would be under.
I remember asking all the elders "Do you this this week be a good change? How can it get any better than this?" They all said yes. Every single one of them was gone in less than one year. I guess they were wrong.
Sad. I really loved Cabelas.

I work at a sporting goods store and we used to have these conversations. If you want to make the bass pro your post apocalyptic base, you will have to dislodge its employees who are already there. We have a plan to hit the Lowe’s on the next plaza for materials to make pill boxes on the roof. We are going to fortify the doors, drop the riot gates, and post shooters on the roof and upper windows.

SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) - Bass Pro Shops intends to close its Cabela’s distribution center in Sidney, cutting more jobs from the western Nebraska city. Bass Pro Shops said Thursday that the closure “is being taken as a result of an extensive review of all Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s operations, including independent analysis by global logistics experts and shipping companies.” The analysis showed the 77-year-old Sidney facility handled less volume than all of its other distribution centers. The Cabela’s merchandise return center in Oshkosh also is being closed. Closing the Sidney center will result in the loss of 121 jobs, while 41 jobs will be eliminated at the Oshkosh facility. Cabela’s once employed around 2,000 people in Sidney before it was bought by Bass Pro Shops, which is based in Springfield, Missouri. The deal was completed in September 2017.
