27:00 So cool to see the train racing the road traffic on M1. It's even better when I watch the video at 2x play speed, LOL! I have done many trips on that M1 highway for my trips between Dandenong and Bairnsdale, but never rode on this V-Line train. Thanks for sharing.

@@driver667 I’ve been in Victoria several items, have friends in Melbourne area. I’m hoping to get there for a lengthy stay… and that train looks like a nice trip to take! Thanks again.
I like the video. I used to visit my grandparents in Taralgon. It would be nice to see an outside shot of the trains if possible. Give some perspective.
As a local it was very interesting to see the Sky rail in Pakenham from the other side of the fence, I watched that part 1:11:00 to 1:15:00 approx. at 0.25 speed and saw lots of familiar landmarks from a new perspective. Those sleepers are hypnotic. Cheers 👍.
I noticed they are starting to build a Sky train starting @ Packenham. We have had a Sky train system in Vancouver since 1986. Ours uses third-rail for power & is driverless (operated by a central computer). Thanks for video.
Yes, they are building sky rail through Pakenham to eliminate the level crossings. They have been building quite a lot of sky rail lately. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍 😊
Excellent video. I enjoyed seeing the skyrail go in at Pakenham. Hopefully once that is complete the funds will come through to complete the duplication through to Traralgon. Ridiculous that in the 21st century it still has single track lengths.

thanks for the video, question, do the velocity trains need access to both sides for start up? Hence why the first and last trains out of Bairnsdale are N Class?
There is no agreement to stable a VLocity at Bairnsdale overnight which is why the loco is still rostered on that run. There are things on both sides that we need to check when preparing a VLocity for traffic. 👍😊
From the video it looks as if this a standard guage line but knowing there are a lot of Broad guage makes me wonder. Would appreciate your comment please.

Not gonna lie, the FULL section between Dandenong and the City…they absolutely need a third track. I saw you slowing down at so many yellows after Pakenham, and you making no stops (not even Noble Park) - the vLine needs a track that like in New York that will allow faster/express trains to shoot by the “locals”. Don’t get me wrong, the level crossing removals are great but man, Gov of Vic needed someone like Andy Byford to be like “uh uh uh, no Dan, build the bloody third track. Don’t be slack, especially if Southeast Melbourne is still growing!”
It would've been nice but there was so much political opposition to just 2 tracks in the air at the time that I think 3 tracks wide in the air would've been politically very hard with the extra compulsory buying back of people's houses. Maybe if both sides of politics were all for it at the time it may be a different story now. I guess we will never know. 🤔 👍😀

What's the point in honking 2 seconds before you hit the crossings? It's way too late and you're just making needless noise when you're that close. If anyone's in the crossing at that point you'll run through them before they hear the horn - they don't have enough time to get out of the way and you can't stop in time, so you're just sounding the horn to no one's benefit.
You might think that from sitting watching on the screen but it is a different story actually in the situation. You will notice that it is not just at the crossing but back a distance before the crossing also that it is sounded. It's one thing to see it from the lounge room but another to see it from the cab with the full perspective of being on location.
