    Bob gives a great review, stays on track, hits all the major points.

    I don't know if Bob has been a racer but I like his skiing too. The best skiers that I see clearly understand that racers show the rest of us how to turn our skis.

    I love the long format. Comparisons from ski essentials! I've watched every one Since two thousand nineteen at least three or four times😂😂😂
    It's in these videos That they directly compare the products to each other.

      Totally! It's just hard for my brain to track all of them in one go, so I usually have to skip around on the ones I know or want to know about

    Bob competed in moguls... not sure the level but they mention it in reviews from time to time. Jeff raced for a bit when he was younger, and then switched to park competitions, again, not sure what level he got to. The people they video skiing are sometimes random people on staff and not the reviewer, but every video is different.
    Anyway, I like watching your take on skis. Really curious what you think of Ripstick / Ripstick black edition from Elan because they are such a different ski. They probably won't be your cup of tea, but a lot of people really enjoy them because they are metal free and they don't beat you up on a long day.

      Thanks for the suggestion! I see a lot of people on the chairlift with them, and they all rave about the Ripsticks. So they are top of my list to demo this coming winter. I'm interested to see how the designated left and right skis act. Thanks for the nice comment and for watching!

      I always thought of competitive mogul skiers as technically inferior to gate bangers but Bob has solid technique.

    Have you tried the new 2023 refresh? I was shocked at how relatively easy the 23’s (and 24’s now) are to throw sideways when you need/want to. Especially with how solid and stable they still are. A little lighter and a bit more tail rocker I think than the 2020-2022’s.
    I’d say still an advanced/expert ski, but I think an advancing intermediate could get along with these new MB’s much better than like a Mantra. I just think the graphic on the MB is lame…

      I agree about the graphic, I reviewed the 23' model. At least the graphic is better than the Reckoner.

    I think Bob's review is of the 2022 model? I think they got rid of the power wall in to '23 (which is what you demo'd).

      @@RicketySkiReviews The 2023 line has a sort of yellow camo graphic, vs the video is showing the black topsheet of 2022. Topic I'm hyper aware of because I bought the 2023 model because of the changes they made vs the 2022- (softened that tail up and made the ski a lot less harsh when slushing out of a turn).

    I like their long format ski videos, and I usually pick to the brands i like. I ski out in utah and colorado and prefer off groomer skiing (mostly ski my bent 100s) thinking of getting something closer to 90mm underfoot for harder snow days for all mountain. thinking mindbender 89ti or J skis FastFoward. had some rustler 9s but didnt like them too much.

      Oh interesting, that sounds like a really good combo between the mindbenders and the Bents

    MB 99 is a tank, carves better than it should and sort of playful in soft snow, but its still a tank!

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Totally agree, I was pleasantly surprised!

    • @scottpratico1315
      @scottpratico1315 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I bought both the 21/22 and 22/23 MB 99ti. The new model is more forgiving, easier to scrub at speed and feels faster in transition. That said, when the cordorouy is good and hill is empty, the older model year is clearly more powerfull as a carving ski. They watered it down a bit by adding rocker but that improves the ski in soft snow. Bob and Jeff obviously move a lot of K2 product and dedicated a lot of time to dissecting the construction changes. But like you said, thats kind of secondary to the change in feel created by the tweaks to shape.

    Seems the changed the rocker and turn radius for 2024 in the review I saw by SE. I like both the 2021 99 and 108 ti Mindbenders. I had a heavy pair of demo bindings on my 99 Ti it really killed the performance of them.

    • @RicketySkiReviews
      @RicketySkiReviews 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh dang what make bindings? I've had that happen with some skis in the past too
