Great vlog as always Nat. It is always quite sentimental to go back to where your roots are. Before I came to Thailand some 13 years ago now, I decided to visit the town and area I grew up in. 60 years had elapsed and sadly much had changed although the house where I was born was still there, the fields and farms that surrounded it have long gone and been replaced with housing. The big oak tree in the back garden was still there, but the air raid shelter that I used to play in had gone. The house is now lived in by an Indian gentleman and his wife and he was happy to show me around his house and garden. I showed him where the air raid shelter had been and was now just a slight dip in the grass and the coal shed outside the back door which is now just for storage. I was even able to show him where I broke my leg when I was 2 years old and the bedroom where I spent a lot of time recovering from polio after being in an isolation hospital for months. It still had my old toy cupboard in it. He found it all fascinating. Anyway, I don't think that your village has changed much, nor will it probably for the next 30 years. You and Camila and the girls are now celebrities! Amazing how quickly the news of your arrival got around! Nice to catch up with you all again, I have missed you. God bless you and all your extended family and keep you safe. 😀❤🙏
I live a couple kilometers from a small village in Isaan and it has been interesting to learn about this traditional life. The farmers mostly live together in the villages, sometimes three generations living in the family home ,(some wooden homes over 150 years old; others torn down with a new concrete block modern house built in its place). As you know, the outdoor kitchen area is outside, usually separate from the house. Most villagers are still using broken twigs and branches or locally made charcoal for fuel to cook with. The trees usually are not planted for their flowers but for its fruit or leaves for cooking. The locals are mostly self-sufficient having fishponds on their farm, growing their own rice and some vegetables to eat and having chickens wandering around for a future feast. They also have the knowledge to scavenge in the local community forest for mushrooms, edible roots, ant eggs, and certain leaves used in soups. They're definitely a special group that can survive without a "Big C" or 7-Eleven. I look at the children in these villages running around freely with their friends riding bicycles, going fishing, playing football barefooted and I think how fortunate they are and the whole community looks after them. But when I start looking at the teenagers, especially when they are 17...18 years old, there is very little opportunity for them (except to get into trouble with their peers). The young adults in my area no longer want to farm like their fathers and grandfathers did. I can't say the local education system prepares them for the 21st century to be completive in the modern work force. During the Covid lock-down there were quite a few Isaan folks that had been working in Bangkok or resort towns that returned to their home villages with some savings and decided to stay and never return to the hectic life of the big cities. I can’t blame them. Thanks for sharing your village with us. It looks very peaceful and full of fond memories for you.
Appreciate you sharing your village home with us. It reminds me of my ex husband family village in rural Jamaica. I loved meeting all his relatives and seeing how everyone came together and was happy even though it was humble beginnings it was amazing to see where it all began for his mum and her family. They were all warm and welcoming. I remember another time we found a beautiful river and swam there in the middle of the beautiful countryside it just took my breath away. Now I live in UK and miss that so much. But also looking forward to my next trip to Thailand. 😊
I just came across this today and I'm so glad I did. What a wonderful and memorable visit back to your "home" and especially for your wife and your girls. This is a good time to start teaching them about what really maters in life 💞💕
That was a smashing vlog Nat and Camilla I really enjoyed your village and your story of returning to your roots with a young family and seeing the villagers you grew up with.........so cool.
People remembering you must be a wonderful feeling of belonging, no matter how long or far you've been away. 🌍 Also, welcome back! 🎉 Too bad the visa issue is such a barrier. 🛂
The best of the videos you have made You are far more natural than you have ever been while living in the canary cage in BKK Your lovely wife and children enjoyed the day as well. You need to return to the farm to live your life in Thailand You said this is me very true What an excellent video

Hi there! Great to see you all. What a beautiful village & such friendly people. You must be so proud of your roots & now you are learning your children the Thai values. A much better place for you all to be. Take Care & enjoy every moment. ❤💕💕💕💕
What's great is that usually the narrator on travel vlogs is an outsider looking in... you being native brings another dimension, a human element to the community. ❤
Absolutely wonderful to see you and your family again. Seeing your home village and your extended family and friends was an absolute delight. Your daughters are as wonderful as ever. Thank you
Gotta love the countryside in Thailand 🇹🇭 ❤ I always have fond memories of being in the village my grandma lived in! Thanks for sharing your day with us! Always love seeing you, Camilla and the girls! Love hearing Mallory’s adorable voice ❤ Glad to see you back:)
Hi. So happy to see you and your family visiting your own birth place. Village life is simple but the people are happy and friendly. Where is this. What is the name of your village? What province s this? How old were you when you went to live England? So happy that you never forgot where you came from. Be proud of where you you were born.
It felt the same overwhelming feeling when I arrived in my wife’s village. I can watch your content for hours Bro. My daughter Mia gets a ride with grandpa every morning on the sidecar to catch the school bus 🚌
Looks like most villages in Issan. Ours is near Ban Phai. The main difference is out store is the main meeting place for village seniors. Always a lot of people just hanging out. Hope all is going well with you and your family mate.
Wow, village life looks so relaxing and so simple way of life. I like how the villagers came out to see you all. Your cute adorable children took it in their stride. Very nice to see indeed. 🤍🌟🩷🥰
I love this video it me going back to my home town I was like you so little when we left Thailand then go back home they all want to see you and they all remain ❤ good on you it a beautiful And it great to show the kids.
Loved this ,what a nice way of life the people are all happy and content. Hope your all doing well wishing you all lots of happiness and nice to see you back
Great video 👏👏 So happy for you all to be back in your village Nat, surreal for sure. Lovely seeing Nana and relatives, and Mallory, Kaya and Camila, yourself immersing yourselves in it all with neighbours. All the people are lovely people, sawadee ka 🙏🏼🙂 I truly enjoyed the visit tour, beautiful, maybe? that’s where you’re meant to be living perhaps, would be great for the girls very serene too, thank you 🙂🙏🏼
Great video guys.. this is one you will look back on for years to come with it being the first visit for the girls.. just seeing the relaxed way of life reminds me of our village in sisaket and spurs me on to be there sooner rather than later.. as for the raw video style Nat I think it works very well..
The channel has been dead, im surprised your back, keep doing what you think is best. TH-cam is saturated with this same content. Its hard to follow sometimes
Not far from where I live. I hope you managed to get a Thai ID before you left as it could be a problem, I'm sure you will be OK though. However, a foreign wife will have to do a 90 day report.
Does it happen in Thailand rural? For example, a stranger is traveling along the road through a village. He is cold and wet from the rain. He has no food. Will a villager invite him in to dry, sleep for the night and some foods to eat? It would be very rare for this to happen in America.
My partner is Thai and he hears the Thai people in your village. Keep asking you guys when you’re gonna teach your kids Thai. The easiest way to do that is for you to only speak Thai to the children and your wife to only speak English to them that way they can learn both languages as they are in prime time to learn language
They will learn both languages, they have plenty of time. We're just adjusting to life in Thailand ourselves without forcing the language on all of us. We'll all be fluent in both eventually. We do teach the kids a bit of both already 😊

Why! And how did you end up moving to the uk! Because it’s not easy for Thais to relocate! Especially from rural communities!
