Gonna take a lot longer than 70 years haha, 18 Quintillion is a lot of planets to explore. Even with 1 million people playing everyday and exploring the normal amount of planets which I would say is 4 - 5 a day which would be 5 Million new planets found a day it would still take thousands upon thousands of years. 18,000,000,000,000,000,000 = 18 Quintillion

I disagree with you. I'm a man, I opened my wallet for it. I'm enjoying what I got. If you only played 'Three Minutes' you must be a liar. You know why? Oh yeah i forgot how they stone cold lied to us about the multiplayer part. Shit it was even tagged as "Massively Multiplayer". on steam for a while. yeah they said it wasnt multiplayer like 1 day before it WAS FUCKING RELEASED.
Summarizing: This game is perfect if you like space and exploration and have a vivid imagination. The game is slow at first and things can get annoying at first, but a few hours in youll get the hang of it. The storage system is very small and cramped and doesnt leave much space for your materials. It has a very beautiful art style, being very colorful and sometimes breathtaking. The game does have a few bugs with hyperdrive jumping and planet loading but those may be fixed with later updates. If you feel discouraged right now, just wait. The game will have future updates and the devs have said there will be many updates, content adds, and bug fixes. Now do be warned this is NOT multiplayer game, and this game is NOT for everyone.
I saw in a devnote that the day 1 patch is gonna boost your inventory capacity as well as make some nice changes to weather and add in the ability to feed animals or something like that
eventually you getmore than enough space foryour inventory. you can upgrade your suit to have up to 36 slots possibly more. You start with 16. and your ship can have up to 64 slots or more not sure exactly how much.
For all of those doubting the current content of the game, check out Sean Murray's Twitter and the No Man's Sky website. There are massive updates planned in the future. You can always buy it later if it starts to look more like what you're into. If you don't like it just don't buy it instead of leaving toxic comments.
+Vasto Lorde The game is basically what I expected. I assume they'll add more content later on down the road but so far I am not bored at all. I spent hours on the first planet and system. This game is definitely not for everyone though. It has the whole "Me against the world" feel that I find awesome. I can for sure pass some serious amount of time without even noticing. especially if I am focusing on a goal like mining for units to get a new ship, scanning the planets surface for pack upgrades or merchant hunting for the next upgrade etc. Lots to do and so many ways to go about it.

yeah, can't argue with more content too. i've been enjoying the game so far. more storage space would be great. and i wish i can some how discover the most abundant elements in a certain planet. or maybe give me some information on the percentage of elements in this planet be scanning it from space. it would be great if you are searching for a certain element. and the base building would be great but it will be inaccessible because of the vast space. wish they introduce some kind bases in large starships. where you can access it by pressing some kind of button when you are in your ship. :D will see. but i am enjoying so far. so won't worry about it.
I bought NMS 2 days ago, only ever watched one trailer. I started playing and lost track of time, so far i have put about 20 hours into it, and i am enjoying the exploration.
Game absolutely met my expectations. I didn't have absolutely absurd expectations from this game unlike others. I think this is just the right game for me.
as per your opinion, his may be different. you never know. personally i got bored of elite dangerous and will probably happen to me with this game as well, but to be honest i don't mind supporting the accomplishments of a very small indie company with a very ambitious idea, and i like the idea of a complete universe to explore and catalog. idk man as the guy in the video said, its not a game for everyone and people are definitely going to have differing opinions on the game, as well as thinking that it is similar to elite dangerous, which it is, but at the same time it is different in its own way. all in all i think they did a decent job on this, but the over hype definitely disappointing a lot of people, i didn't have ridiculous expectations as well and it easily met them and i am currently enjoying my experience.
yeah i have, and eventually got bored of it. and idk it just feels like a completely different experience to me playing this. im currently enjoying it and have no regrets buying it so far. im sure its a completely different experience for everyone. but im pretty happy with what this game is as of now, it just needs a couple updates to improve performance and ill be a little bit happier :P.
I agree completely with you ultimate, I think for an indie game it really couldn't be much better. it's a great game. I could care less what everyone else thinks about it. a lot of people these days are expecting something they will never get. it just goes to show you can't please some people...

I don't know, this game seems a lot like the space stage in the current spore game, with a few tweaks and whatnot, which that stage is ultimately the best in the entire game.
18 quintillion empty, characterless planets you'd sooner leave for the next one just to get things over with. That's kind of the problem with open world sandboxes - all that space ain't worth shit if there's nothing interesting to compel you to return to it. You get there, take what you need and leave. Throw-away planets in a throw-away system in a throw-away universe in a throw-away game.
Not really. It just amazes me how the whole hype around this game revolves in a number too big for anybody to realistically be able to enjoy. It's like that concept of using big smart-sounding words to impress gullible women, in this case it was the promise of an entire universe with nothing to do in it but scan spore animals, fire your lasers at stuff, try not to run out of stuff, rinse repeat.
i actually feel satisfied with it, the more you get to the core of the galaxy, the more interesting it gets, with a ton of really interesting creatures to discover, really diverse and some beautiful planets, great soundtracks, it eve has black holes!!!!. and i personally enjoy the dogfights in space, it has what i was hoping for, and it didnt disapoint me at all :)
I went through a black hole not knowing it would teleport me 1.2 million fucking light years away from My current position, and am mildly pissed as I want to Keep Tabs on the things I find so I can return to them later and keep Exploring

Shaun explained that the servers would merge as you would go near another player thus allowing to see them. He has responded to the twitch streamer situation and said that this was just an issue mostly caused by the large influx of players crowding the game severs.

This game will disappear into the vast universe, only to leave behind a few individuals, whose screams you can hear coming from the corners of the forums saying: "Hey, anyone still playing?" Seriously, though. A game without an actual goal is just a failure. Once the goal is unclear or is gone, there is just no point. That's just it. The turning point. Without a goal there is no reason to do anything. In life, we all strive for something, and we keep working so that we can achieve that goal. Imagine if we had no goals. Nothing we wanted to achieve. We'd just either be doing completely nothing (or entertain ourselves all the time) or slaving away at work all day, not realizing or clarifying in our own minds why are we doing this. (the last part would apply to most people with a weaker thought process) Not to hate on most people playing this, but just ask yourself: Why? Why gather those materials to keep finding new planets? Ultimately, you'll do the same thing: You'll land down, gather materials, upgrade your ship? (until you have maxed it out, cause upgrades run out, they're not infinite) How much is there to achieve? It's a repetitive process. And, ultimately, the planets will start to repeat themselves. Even if they are randomly generated, some aspects are still recycled. You'll start seeing much of the same as you explore more. What then? They can spout these major numbers of how many planets and things can appear and be generated, but in the end you'll start seeing similar planets. Sooner or later. In the end, there's really not much too it. And to those saying: "Oh, give it more time. It's only initial release, they'll add more stuff." What do you think they could add, anyway? I'm actually quite curious as to what your thoughts are. For one thing, there should be a way to co-op from the start with friends. That would make it much more appealing, at least to me, rather than being alone in pretty much singleplayer all the time. Being by yourself in this game seems to just be a huge minus in my eyes. A massive problem. And really...? 60$? Are you actually kidding me? Charge that much for a game like this. WITCHER 3 IS FUCKING CHEAPER, HOLY SHIT. Minecraft doesn't have a goal but it is very successful. No Man's Sky actually does have a goal when you think about it. You have to get to the center of the galaxy

This is the kind of game that I'm really interested in but not brave enough to go for it at full price. I'm that guy that plays and enjoys games half a year late at half price when nobody is talking about them lol
I personally enjoy No Mans Sky, I preordered the game on PS4 and didn't follow much of the hype, I just knew what to expect. It is a survival game at heart but also an exploration game, it gave me the same emotion as playing other indie games such as Flower or Journey on PS4, it's a complete chill game with epic scale, no much of a story(if you can call it that) but just fascination on an epic scale, and mining to survive and carry exploring. If you like Sci-fi and fancy a fairly simple game to kick back relax and explore the universe, then it is a game for you. That's my personal opinion.
I think you're missing the point of these videos... This series is about just giving you unbiased info so you can make up your own mind. It doesn't review the game. It just tells you what you need to know so you can make an informed decision. If you want a numerical score you should search for review videos. You have plenty of those.. .
I was super hyped about this game for years. YEARS. Pre-Ordered it, played it for days, and I loved it. But after a while I realized that I had only fully searched like 2 or 3 planets and all my gear sucked. I loved finding new species and naming them but I soon found out that if I actually wanted to upgrade my things to jump forward to get closer to the core, I had to stop exploring endlessly. Kind of a bummer. I wanted to explore everything but that's like being on tutorial island for a week straight. Then once I started upgrading my things and started getting further in the universe, I found myself doing pretty much nothing and anytime I did almost anything, the damn Guardian robots would start shooting at me. When a planet's hostility is super high and the weather there sucks, I see no reason to explore that planet at all. Kind of a waste of space if you ask me. And before the game launched I thought you'd be able to build a shelter or something similar to Minecraft where you can deposit your items into a chest or something but that's not the case. They did update the game a while back where you could build a shelter but after building for an hour I was instantly bored. It took an hour to build a simple shelter because the hallways wouldn't connect and it'd look like a child made the damn place. Overall, the game is fun to look at but not so fun to play.
This game had so much potential but flew right past it all. Here's to hoping for a glorious era of updates and additions to make this game somewhat worth it's money.
me. I wish I watched it before pre ordering. the game has a fantastic premise, but feel unfinished, like my playing the 'just out of alpha' beta version of the game rather than the finished product.
The game met up to my expectations in terms of the size and scope of the Galaxy, and the vivid environments of each planet. The part where it failed is that there are only 4 things to do on EACH planet, the space battles where you are incapable of being able to defend yourself from space pirates, and the lackluster overall feeling of the game. The planets are beautiful, but all look the same. I've only encountered 4 planets that genuinely look great. I was impressed by the size, disappointed in the variety of gameplay.
One thing I learned about space combat today, after a few passes with the enemy ships, it's always wise to go into your ship's inventory and recharge your shields. Of course, that's only if you don't wanna get blown up.
Do you happen to know the required specs for the PC? I'm trying to decide between getting it on PS4 or my semi-powerful computer that might or might not be able to run it.
the creator says its not primarily a multiplayer game so don't expect much. plus it could be different servers, different in game time, different in game days, etc.

This game is kind of relaxing, you know you are alone, there's no time limit or and objective that you have to do in a specified amount of time, you can do what you wanna do at your own pace, bad planets make discovering a few really nice planets feel a lot rewarding, travelling from planet to planet and just flying around in the space feels good, the game does has its cons but I really love this game. It's the game I play when I don't feel like playing a storyline based game. It's a really good game.
ive played for about 25 hours and tbh its a great game and theres a ton of stuff to discover but i do feel like it needs more events and random encounters aside from that its a really good game. also i have to note that this is more on the casual side of games. this is a game you play to relax and chill.
Yeah, it seems they expected tons of hidden features, secret bits they weren't being shown, just waiting to be unearthed. It irritates me. If anything, trailers are meant to be overly expressive to stun audiences with the big possibilities. More shouldn't be expected, and if there's more then it's a pleasant surprise. I just want to get lost in NMS's massive universe and enjoy it, not rage on the internet about lack of multiplayer party systems and base building, because I was never promised any of that in the trailers.
From what I gathered, it's just "Flying around in Space the game" & all the other stuff is just to make your flying easier. You collect resources to craft &/or upgrade equipment to make flying through space easier. You earn units & interact with NPCs to make flying through space easier. You make new discover things & name them after dicks to show that you flown through space. All that would be fine & dandy if the game wasn't asking for 60 bucks. I'm not saying it's a bad game, but for me the game isn't worth it's price, especially when the only fun part about the game is flying through space. Maybe in the future once they add more content to the game, I'll buy it. Of course, that's if they plan to add more content.

the problem is, the flying mechanic actually truly sux. It's almost on auto pilot. You cant even look around your ship very well. The flyign mechanics in Star Wars X-Wing and tie Figheter that came out in 1993, had better flying mechanics. The original Air Combat on Playstation 1 had better flying mechanics.

sunk many hours into it and was really getting into this game. I then landed on a very hostile planet, next to a large rock. I am now stuck to the rock. every time I try to take off it kills me and wrecks my ship. Game breaking bug. too far in to delete and start again, stuck on this planet. 49 quid and the game is over. real shame.

completely agree. Taking it slow and chilling out is the most fun way to play. I'm also in love with the lore at play, involving the Atlas. Dialogue/Soliloquy in this game is written brilliantly.
THEDXFAN28 so far I have travelled as far out as an atlas station but i'm thinking of going back to my original planet because I saw a ship I want at the trading post, it was massive and had 32 slots. cost 6mil units though. jjst taking my time, no need to get to the centre so soon or the game will become literally just an exploration sim then. you gotta make your own objectives.
yeah, i don't get the hate for the game, they're only hating on usual tropes for survival sandbox exploration games, and not something unique to the game, you just gotta play it the same way you would something like minecraft, make your own objectives, try to roleplay and what not, then the game will be much more enjoyable, and the grinding will feel more worthwhile

This game has been worked on for 4 years it is worth, it is fun and it's getting updated day to day by the end of September it will be so rare to find a bug. Also they said they would work more on it so for those that want alien civilitaon and more character do not worry they will add that and more. And there is a possible chance they will add structure crafting and if your dispointed because they lied about multiplayer so what I know it's sad you can't be a space-pirate with your friend but still it's a beatifiul game. (I have already put more than 24 hours into this game still not boring lol)

I mean sure, they made this nearly infinite expanse....but considering no one is going to see it all and you're just doing the same things every time....it's a grindfest. I'm sure people would've been just as happy with only 1,000 planets if each planet had its own thriving populace and/or wildlife. The variety would be much more powerful then, and you could include multiple interaction options. How could would it be to actually be a wanted fugitive on like 8 different planets? Even better if there were ship classes and an actual multiplayer system. This game might not be that game, but believe me they have shown what procedural generation can do. Someone is going to use it for that end now.

Imagine how cool it would be to make an alliance with many other players, buid on planets and make them our own, attack other planets, deciding which "workclass" you want to be (Worker, Farmer, Soldier, Explorer, Bounty Hunter with bounty on some players,....) Well, simply imagine this game as a Star Wars Game with all the fractions, it would be soooooo cool!

My worst moment in NMS was when I decided to fix a crashed ship, but didn't have the resources. The planet I was on didn't either, so I walked for over an hour on a barren planet looking for a trading post

To be fair the developers did say it wouldn't be a game for everyone. I do appreciate the fact that they delivered on what they promised , " a supposedly infinite space simulator for you to explore". Every planet is different and along the way you will encounter some truly awesome ones. I have been playing for a few days and yea the grind is hard but I kinda like it, getting those glowing orbs of light are sometimes challenging but so worth it !

I disagree with you. I'm a man, I opened my wallet for it. I'm enjoying what I got. If you only played 'Three Minutes' you must be a liar. You know why? Summarizing: This game is perfect if you like space and exploration and have a vivid imagination. The game is slow at first and things can get annoying at first, but a few hours in youll get the hang of it. The storage system is very small and cramped and doesnt leave much space for your materials. It has a very beautiful art style, being very colorful and sometimes breathtaking. The game does have a few bugs with hyperdrive jumping and planet loading but those may be fixed with later updates. If you feel discouraged right now, just wait. The game will have future updates and the devs have said there will be many updates, content adds, and bug fixes. Now do be warned this is NOT multiplayer game, and this game is NOT for everyone.

I saw in a devnote that the day 1 patch is gonna boost your inventory capacity as well as make some nice changes to weather and add in the ability to feed animals or something like that

This IS a multiplayer game, the connection between players is not perfect yet. So relax.
eventually you getmore than enough space foryour inventory. you can upgrade your suit to have up to 36 slots possibly more. You start with 16. and your ship can have up to 64 slots or more not sure exactly how much.
For all of those doubting the current content of the game, check out Sean Murray's Twitter and the No Man's Sky website. There are massive updates planned in the future. You can always buy it later if it starts to look more like what you're into. If you don't like it just don't buy it instead of leaving toxic comments.

+Vasto Lorde The game is basically what I expected. I assume they'll add more content later on down the road but so far I am not bored at all. I spent hours on the first planet and system. This game is definitely not for everyone though. It has the whole "Me against the world" feel that I find awesome. I can for sure pass some serious amount of time without even noticing. especially if I am focusing on a goal like mining for units to get a new ship, scanning the planets surface for pack upgrades or merchant hunting for the next upgrade etc. Lots to do and so many ways to go about it.

personally i got bored of elite dangerous and will probably happen to me with this game as well, but to be honest i don't mind supporting the accomplishments of a very small indie company with a very ambitious idea, and i like the idea of a complete universe to explore and catalog. idk man as the guy in the video said, its not a game for everyone and people are definitely going to have differing opinions on the game, as well as thinking that it is similar to elite dangerous, which it is, but at the same time it is different in its own way. all in all i think they did a decent job on this, but the over hype definitely disappointing a lot of people, i didn't have ridiculous expectations as well and it easily met them and i am currently enjoying my experience.

Besides a few bugs I love the game. People have to understand that it's a "chill out" kind of game. It's not your typical fucking Call of Duty.

Not really. It just amazes me how the whole hype around this game revolves in a number too big for anybody to realistically be able to enjoy. It's like that concept of using big smart-sounding words to impress gullible women, in this case it was the promise of an entire universe with nothing to do in it but scan spore animals, fire your lasers at stuff, try not to run out of stuff, rinse repeat.

i actually feel satisfied with it, the more you get to the core of the galaxy, the more interesting it gets, with a ton of really interesting creatures to discover, really diverse and some beautiful planets, great soundtracks, it eve has black holes!!!!. and i personally enjoy the dogfights in space, it has what i was hoping for, and it didnt disapoint me at all :)

Shaun explained that the servers would merge as you would go near another player thus allowing to see them. He has responded to the twitch streamer situation and said that this was just an issue mostly caused by the large influx of players crowding the game severs.

You remember how they kept hyping up the center of the galaxy? Remember how there was supposed to be some cool thing that would happen when you got there? Well, you wanna know what happens when you get there? IT RESETS YOUR FUCKING GAME. THAT'S IT. You spend HOURS traveling there and you get the biggest slap in the face the videogame industry has EVER laid upon the consumerbase.
Don't buy this game. At least, not for full price. I wanted to believe in it but the developers fucked up and every given chance and now I am completely disillusioned. I refunded it after less than an hour of laggy, crashing playtime.

Seriously, though. A game without an actual goal is just a failure. Once the goal is unclear or is gone, there is just no point. That's just it. The turning point. Without a goal there is no reason to do anything. In life, we all strive for something, and we keep working so that we can achieve that goal. Imagine if we had no goals. Nothing we wanted to achieve. We'd just either be doing completely nothing (or entertain ourselves all the time) or slaving away at work all day, not realizing or clarifying in our own minds why are we doing this. (the last part would apply to most people with a weaker thought process)
Not to hate on most people playing this, but just ask yourself: Why? Why gather those materials to keep finding new planets? Ultimately, you'll do the same thing: You'll land down, gather materials, upgrade your ship? (until you have maxed it out, cause upgrades run out, they're not infinite) How much is there to achieve? It's a repetitive process. And, ultimately, the planets will start to repeat themselves. Even if they are randomly generated, some aspects are still recycled. You'll start seeing much of the same as you explore more. What then? They can spout these major numbers of how many planets and things can appear and be generated, but in the end you'll start seeing similar planets. Sooner or later.
In the end, there's really not much too it. And to those saying: "Oh, give it more time. It's only initial release, they'll add more stuff." What do you think they could add, anyway? I'm actually quite curious as to what your thoughts are. For one thing, there should be a way to co-op from the start with friends. That would make it much more appealing, at least to me, rather than being alone in pretty much singleplayer all the time. Being by yourself in this game seems to just be a huge minus in my eyes. A massive problem. And really...? 60$? Are you actually kidding me? Charge that much for a game like this. WITCHER 3 IS FUCKING CHEAPER, HOLY SHIT. (and that's a game that 100% deserves that price and the reputation it has gotten). They charge triple A for this, oh my god. It's ridiculous. Love the people going "Stunning graphics, vast universe!" Really? Have you actually seen the graphics of any other game than Minecraft? (no pun intended)

I personally enjoy No Mans Sky, I preordered the game on PS4 and didn't follow much of the hype, I just knew what to expect. It is a survival game at heart but also an exploration game, it gave me the same emotion as playing other indie games such as Flower or Journey on PS4, it's a complete chill game with epic scale, no much of a story(if you can call it that) but just fascination on an epic scale, and mining to survive and carry exploring. If you like Sci-fi and fancy a fairly simple game to kick back relax and explore the universe, then it is a game for you. That's my personal opinion.

I was super hyped about this game for years. YEARS. Pre-Ordered it, played it for days, and I loved it. But after a while I realized that I had only fully searched like 2 or 3 planets and all my gear sucked. I loved finding new species and naming them but I soon found out that if I actually wanted to upgrade my things to jump forward to get closer to the core, I had to stop exploring endlessly. Kind of a bummer. I wanted to explore everything but that's like being on tutorial island for a week straight. Then once I started upgrading my things and started getting further in the universe, I found myself doing pretty much nothing and anytime I did almost anything, the damn Guardian robots would start shooting at me. When a planet's hostility is super high and the weather there sucks, I see no reason to explore that planet at all. Kind of a waste of space if you ask me. And before the game launched I thought you'd be able to build a shelter or something similar to Minecraft where you can deposit your items into a chest or something but that's not the case. They did update the game a while back where you could build a shelter but after building for an hour I was instantly bored. It took an hour to build a simple shelter because the hallways wouldn't connect and it'd look like a child made the damn place. Overall, the game is fun to look at but not so fun to play.

The game met up to my expectations in terms of the size and scope of the Galaxy, and the vivid environments of each planet. The part where it failed is that there are only 4 things to do on EACH planet, the space battles where you are incapable of being able to defend yourself from space pirates, and the lackluster overall feeling of the game. The planets are beautiful, but all look the same. I've only encountered 4 planets that genuinely look great. I was impressed by the size, disappointed in the variety of gameplay.

you can easily defend yourself from space pirates of you have half a brain and know how to fly and shoot... I have not died from any pirate raids
One thing I learned about space combat today, after a few passes with the enemy ships, it's always wise to go into your ship's inventory and recharge your shields. Of course, that's only if you don't wanna get blown up.

This game is kind of relaxing, you know you are alone, there's no time limit or and objective that you have to do in a specified amount of time, you can do what you wanna do at your own pace, bad planets make discovering a few really nice planets feel a lot rewarding, travelling from planet to planet and just flying around in the space feels good, the game does has its cons but I really love this game. It's the game I play when I don't feel like playing a storyline based game. It's a really good game.
I actually flew into a discovered Planet System and saw that one planet wasn't discovered yet so I named it DickButt

ive played for about 25 hours and tbh its a great game and theres a ton of stuff to discover but i do feel like it needs more events and random encounters aside from that its a really good game. also i have to note that this is more on the casual side of games. this is a game you play to relax and chill.

Yeah, it seems they expected tons of hidden features, secret bits they weren't being shown, just waiting to be unearthed. It irritates me. If anything, trailers are meant to be overly expressive to stun audiences with the big possibilities. More shouldn't be expected, and if there's more then it's a pleasant surprise. I just want to get lost in NMS's massive universe and enjoy it, not rage on the internet about lack of multiplayer party systems and base building, because I was never promised any of that in the trailers.

From what I gathered, it's just "Flying around in Space the game" & all the other stuff is just to make your flying easier. You collect resources to craft &/or upgrade equipment to make flying through space easier. You earn units & interact with NPCs to make flying through space easier. You make new discover things & name them after dicks to show that you flown through space. All that would be fine & dandy if the game wasn't asking for 60 bucks. I'm not saying it's a bad game, but for me the game isn't worth it's price, especially when the only fun part about the game is flying through space.
Maybe in the future once they add more content to the game, I'll buy it. Of course, that's if they plan to add more content.

the problem is, the flying mechanic actually truly sux. It's almost on auto pilot. You cant even look around your ship very well. The flyign mechanics in Star Wars X-Wing and tie Figheter that came out in 1993, had better flying mechanics. The original Air Combat on Playstation 1 had better flying mechanics.

sunk many hours into it and was really getting into this game. I then landed on a very hostile planet, next to a large rock. I am now stuck to the rock. every time I try to take off it kills me and wrecks my ship. Game breaking bug. too far in to delete and start again, stuck on this planet. 49 quid and the game is over. real shame.
You can revert back to a previous save, up to three saves back I think.

completely agree. Taking it slow and chilling out is the most fun way to play. I'm also in love with the lore at play, involving the Atlas. Dialogue/Soliloquy in this game is written brilliantly.

so far I have travelled as far out as an atlas station but i'm thinking of going back to my original planet because I saw a ship I want at the trading post, it was massive and had 32 slots. cost 6mil units though.

yeah, i don't get the hate for the game, they're only hating on usual tropes for survival sandbox exploration games, and not something unique to the game, you just gotta play it the same way you would something like minecraft, make your own objectives, try to roleplay and what not, then the game will be much more enjoyable, and the grinding will feel more worthwhile

This game has been worked on for 4 years it is worth, it is fun and it's getting updated day to day by the end of September it will be so rare to find a bug.
Also they said they would work more on it so for those that want alien civilitaon and more character do not worry they will add that and more.
And there is a possible chance they will add structure crafting and if your dispointed because they lied about multiplayer so what I know it's sad you can't be a space-pirate with your friend but still it's a beatifiul game.

Anyways, I duno if this game is worth 60$ either in the grand scheme of things. I was expected a game with a bit more dynamics going on. I mean sure, they made this nearly infinite expanse....but considering no one is going to see it all and you're just doing the same things every time....it's a grindfest.
I'm sure people would've been just as happy with only 1,000 planets if each planet had its own thriving populace and/or wildlife. The variety would be much more powerful then, and you could include multiple interaction options. How could would it be to actually be a wanted fugitive on like 8 different planets? Even better if there were ship classes and an actual multiplayer system.
This game might not be that game, but believe me they have shown what procedural generation can do. Someone is going to use it for that end now.

Every planet is different and along the way you will encounter some truly awesome ones. I have been playing for a few days and yea the grind is hard but I kinda like it, getting those glowing orbs of light are sometimes challenging but so worth it !
