But also the shooting down of Bluebird, who later comes back as Blackbird and many more. It's a sort of 'middle finger' to the EBU and a message they can't get him down. He will rise again. They shot his old air balloon but has gotten a new one.
This trauma mentioned at the end is because of him losing his parents as a teenager. The big (angels) white male and female figures he floats towards at the very end above the city must be a referral to his parents. And read into it what you might, IMHO it is a F...Y.. to the EBU/ESC too, and it is sort of a time to move on song as well...
