      @Torgueuere 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I think that every single tennis fan knows that 90% of murray's matches picked for this video are crap compared to other matches in the same year. So, either the editor is an englishman or don't know shit about tennis, or maybe due to a series of unknown reasons, for which I don't really care about, he or she only watched tennis matches involving Murray, and he or she did it for a decade...which would be a very sad and tragic situation.
      So cut the Murray bullshit. He is not worth the fuss. Everybody knows that the big three are in another league compared to Murray. If Federer, Djokovic and Nadal were Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, Murray would be Ballotelli in the best case scenario.

    • @jacobschmidt2709
      @jacobschmidt2709 4 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      I believe people vastly underrate Murray. His abilities, endurance, stamina and skill were pretty similar to the big 3. However, he was not tough enough mentally in the big moments, which proved to be his detriment when facing Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. Take Djokovic out of the equation and he'd easily be a double digit slam winner. Furthermore, he had to undergo back surgery shortly after he peaked. This greatly cut the time he would have had playing his best tennis. The hip replacement did not help either. In short, Murray was the only consistent true challenger to the big 3 and even hit number 1 and won the WTF during their reign. He also beat peak Nadal and Nole in slams. That has to count for something.

    In 2017 I'd put Djokovic vs Murray at Doha. I usually hate matches between this two, but that match was unbelievable. Alognside the obvious Shanghai 2012, the best match they've ever played (in the ATP tour).

      Not in the last 2 years - that's for sure. But, with his ultra-aggressive style he's talking all the risk. You live by sword, you die by the sword. Djokovic can just sit back and wait for an error or a bad approach shot...

    Thiem played the highest level of his life there, only just beating Novak, and Novak was playing at a high level too. Just shows you the level it takes to go past Novak on his good days, and even then Novak can win it if you dont hold your nerves :)

    • @jondavwal13

      I think Djokovic looked a little weak that day and was trying to will himself to victory, which he almost did. Thiem played the best match of his life and I don't think he will ever play better. That's his limit.

    2010: Same
    2011: Nadal/Djokovic Miami, although the Rome SF is a close second
    2012: Same
    2013: Either Nadal/Del Potro Indian Wells or Nadal/Djokovic Montreal
    2014: Same, but Federer/Wawrinka ATP Finals is a close second
    2015: Same (not many good matches to choose from)
    2016: Nadal/Zverev Miami (was gonna say Nadal/Del Potro, but I forgot that the Olympics is not an ATP event)
    2017: Same
    2018: Federer/Del Potro Indian Wells
    2019: Nadal/Medvedev ATP Finals

    Instead of making fun of or insult people who just do not know better, why not simply explain?
    It is quite easy: Grand Slams are organised by ITF (International Tennis Federation), and therefore Grand Slam matches have no spot in the Best ATP Matches / Best WTA Matches.
