YES! A personal fave John Collier story. I also watched the Perkins TV play, and u were being kind in ur opinion. I actually laughed thru the entire thing.. not one creepy moment, just creepy singing 🤯 I have no clue why it was even made 🤔
It's been years, but I recall giving up on the movie after about 15 minutes. It's a shame, too, because it really is a frightening story. I haven't a clue as to why it was made into a musical, either.
Yeah, there was a Zone episode based on this story, and even a movie was made in the early 60's. Don't bother looking up the film - it was produced as a musical!
The musical version with Anthony Perkins and Charmain Carr was actually a made-for-television special (ABC Stage 67) and not a movie. The music and lyrics were by Stephen Sondheim, one of the great composers for the Broadway theater with such credits as "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum", "A Little Night Music", "Follies", "Company" and many others. Norman Bates and Liesl. And a musical by Sondheim.
Who on earth thought that was a good idea?
@@OofusTwillip So far, nobody!
Sounds like the Twilight Zone ep with Ann Francis? Or maybe not?
