She got a paid trip with one extra person to a luxurious stay in Jamaica. I say she deserves it ❤. Wonderful girl with a good heart. Jamaica would not have won that gold medal if she had not been so kind.

The money that Mr. Parchment returned to her was 10,000 yen, which is about $100 in US dollars. In other words, we can assume that the money she lent him was also the same amount. From this video, it seems that she did not know who Mr. Parchment was, where he came from, what kind of sport he played, or how strong he was. The reason why she lent him $100 even though there was a possibility that he would not return it was probably because she did not want him to come to the Tokyo Olympics and regret losing before he had a chance to show his skills.
In Japan, we teach our children that kindness is not something you do for others, but something you do for yourself. It is as if you save your kindness in the society, just like you save your money in the bank, and believe that one day it will come back to you and your children many times over.
