- In this performance video, 2011 DMC Online Champion Unkut introduces the next step in TRAKTOR SCRATCH performance: Native Scratch Technology.
All scratch products by Native Instruments now contain Native Scratch technology - delivering tight, accurate performance via MK2 timecode for fully authentic vinyl feel.
Unkut employs advanced scratching and drumming techniques using TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2 with X1 and MASCHINE controllers, combining the best of turntablism and controllerism. He adds TRAKTOR effects like Flanger and Gater, using the Gater similarly to the classic "transform" scratch.

The first Native Instruments video I watched 10yrs ago, as I got my first dj controller for Christmas
in 2023 u are still in the best
Wow........ Just wow, pure skill
sooo many memories : ddddd still fire : o
I DJ in empty swimming pools sometimes too
HAAAAAA HA!!!
The best scratch dj i've seen so far today.
who else is here 2019 almost 2020
2020
08/2020
12/2020
2021*
2024😂😂😂
Still classic after all these years
He's got skills!
This makes me think of people who complain that electronic music artists "dont have any real skill because its not a real instrument" or "all they do is push a button, how hard is that". SO much talent!
even if you play the piano just press keys ...
MIND=BLOW
Aside from this being absolutely dope, I love the amount of production they put into these videos. Top notch on all fronts
Why he has the extra weight screwed on the back of the right tonearm?
Soft or hard scratch...
+Elpidio Granatello good question???
I think the greatness of this performance comes from being able to produce and construct 2 or 3 solid beats on one track and loop them; then on the second track have solid sounds, samples and scratch tracks. Put them together, scratch and add effects and you are set.
Did anyone notice he's in an empty swimming pool?
Goin deep
Yes, everyone
so absurd!
no
ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR !
Sure he's good, but he always empties the fucking pool.
Terrible for pool parties.
had this video saved as an mp3 file for years.
good stuff.
I wish I had a lot of time on my hands so I could learn to do this ....oh wait.....
haha
D Wilson i don't get it
Now's the time!
that was true class man....no doubt he is one of the best djs....
Scratching belongs in old school hip hop, not electric music. This is still crazy though
I don't think scratching belongs to any genre. It just belongs to djs. But then again djing with a electronic sound did kinda start from hip hop
i'm amazed at how far dvs have come. look at how tight those hits are!
Anyone else realize hes in an empty pool
haha no.. but it makes a great effect!
0:45 look how he plays with cross fader and volume faders with same hand.. *beyond Sick!*
Why are u in a swimming pool?
definitely like the gater effect and how chopped up he gets it. Fresh!
He is really good and talented, but it got quite annoying after a minute.
loooooooool,
This is the only video of a peformance by unkut, and its inspiring, im getting turntables just to replicate this routine, DJ UNKUT IS A BEAST
Never gets old!
Simply awsome !
@TwistableTurn (Contd..)
3 He is using crossfader to give another sound effect (more noticeable towards the end if you look carefully and concentrate for sound).
4 He uses the two volume controls to add silence effects (two verticle knobs one for each channel above the cross fader)
5 He uses effect rack to give sound effects like bouncing the mix, etc. You can use any like reverb, flanging or others depending on what your rack has.
6. Sampler provides pre-sampled sounds to make mix unique
i watch this every day
I could listen to it the hole DAY!
That was an amazing video, this guy clearly grew up in the vinyl era, like me. His scratch skills are insane!!! Everyone that is flippin' him off are tools who only listen to dubstep and have no clue what other music sounds like. This is a great performance! Anyone who doesn't realize that is a tool.
You represent the top 2% of skilled Mix artist. Thank you for this video, and much love from New Orleans.....
this video should have at least 10,000,000 views
@TwistableTurn The gear (irrespective of make) is two vinyl players + mixer, one effects rack, one sampler, and a DAW or DJ soft running on laptop that is mixing all the inputs into one comprehensive track.
What he is doing:
1 The Disc on his right is providing the basic beat to the mix while the one on left is providing vocals.
2 He is scratching the CD on left to repeat and loop vocals (the vocal effect) plus giving vocals to the mix.
3 (Contd..)
WOW that was awesome!!!
Thats cool. its amzing what we can do with tracks like those
Beautiful decks.
i' ve never seen somebody who is so fucking perfectly in time, while scratching and using traktor.. I thik he will be DMC Champion for the next Decade!
always love these kind of videos
The turntable is THE turntable of the DJ scene: Technics 1210. Only avalaible on eBay and Amazon since Technics are not producing them anymore. But still the best and most-reliable ones! (And the Mixer is the Traktor Kontrol Z2!). Have fun, matey.
miss those times ;)
omg i love unkut's style
Literally the coolest scratch routine. So rhythmic.... O.O
No way around it; this is fuckin' mad perfection.
Back to the old skool cool
crazy location, awesome skills.
heavy props to vinyl djs

He's skilled af.
the SOUNDwaves on the wall is sweet
I'll agree I'm not into the euro trend that dj's are headed but I can say unkut does some creative work with it...much props.
and also sick beat and music
Exceptional performance. Respect.
I don't think hes even aware how awesome he is.
FANTASTIC
so fresh! mind blowing talent
What a beast!
1 of the best ive herd
The coolest thing about this video is the fact that he mixes in a swimming pool.
It's sad to say but while his performance implies a lot of skill and is an impressive achievement, it feels like it would sound better if he just let the song play...
Tats just showin every dj up!
thanks you foryour music~
To jest ZAJEBISTE !!!!!!
I just keep watching this
Then by all means show us your amazing dj skills sir.
Great work
if he didnt have a macbook pro, the song would freeze after about 6.2 seconds. The pure processing power. Thank the lord for Steve.
finally i found it! great!
did anyone else notice this video was made in an empty underground pool ?
good stuff bro, wish i could do that.
well said... I know exactly what you are talking about! Just cuz another DJ did it doesn't mean you have to do it too just to make you "look" like a DJ
As a Redditor who has achieved 100% completion on DJ Hero 2 on my PC, I can look at this video with more expertise than most. This man's scratching is sub-par at best. I would love to duel him in DJ Hero 2 and see who the true MC is.
.... I'm fucking speechless.... If I ever get close enough to what you do I'll be the happiest guy alive :)
Mind is blown now
Bombooo!! now dat is Performance!
Nice and clean! Tumbs up bro!
So good!
this is so good
well played, sir
AWESOME !
just appreciate what people have to offer, haters always got say something. Show casing their talent, just fucking let it be and enjoy.
@MusicToTheShores Guys, unkut did not use a song, this set is produced by MSD, Le Jad and Unkut himself.
Wow....just wow
