Gotta love Doc and his shenanigans. It’s always so fun to see what he comes up with, from the extremely precise anvil cannon to monopolizing the logging industry to sell it for sand just for it to sit inside an hourglass. I don’t mean it rude when I say his pettiness is unparalleled. It’s honestly one of his best traits 😂
Yeah, but not so much for those who want it! Skizz needs to have a secret separate supply that he doesn't reveal to his viewers, and that all Hermits know about except Doc!
I liked the pipe idea, but hearing your big a/c idea sounds pretty good too. It totally makes sense to me for a factory that manufactures gunpowder products to need industrial cooling. Especially since Iskall can then use the a/c as an excuse when he eventually isn’t able to get online right away to answer the alarms. 😆 I can hear his voice now, “Whew!!! GOOD thing I installed that industrial cooling system! It it wasn’t for that, the whole server would be gone. Everything just blown up. Yup. No more server.” 🤣
Iskall, I love your build! It is visually chaotic and that’s a GOOD thing! It’s exciting! Even if you don’t have lore in mind, the build itself allows room for the viewer to interpret their own story about why there are so many styles mosh mashed onto one place. They’re different enough for it be puzzling, but they’re all so well built and thoughtfully textured in a consistent style that it’s still believable that they come together to form one unit. That’s a tough thing to do and I think you nailed it.
13:58 is possibly one of my favorite Iskall moments ever. It describes him so much. People being doubtful of his build and him coming up with great ideas is the exact same. It even shows in his development of Vault Hunters. The community doesn’t like something he decides, but he knows what he is doing, and he will improve the game in ways we did not expect.
I've said it before but you should pull a prank where you build a building specifically for the purpose of blowing it up. Hook it up to the alarm, and have it blow when Stress/Ren are online. Make them think that your build is legitimately at risk of exploding if they don't warn you when the alarm goes off
I said it before. I like the energy from you this season, it feels like "we're playing Minecraft" rather than me watching someone else play for me. I like it here.
This is very much my feeling too. Instant grand builds and time-lapses just don't do it for me - Iskall feels a lot more like I'm playing MC through/with him
I really like your build. It gives post apocalyptic. It looks like a building that's been added to for a different use. An old abandoned factory turned into something else.
(first ever comment on your videos, i don't usually do comments in general) Your buildings this season have inspired me to pick up the game again after getting so immensely burnt out on it and trying something new by trying my hand at gradients (which i've noticed to be your Maxed Out Skill of Doom, like how terraforming is for Scar, or armor stands is for Zombiecleo) You are an amazing builder, don't let the haters worm their way in and tell you otherwise. I've been watching Hermitcraft (from various creators) since the middle of season seven, and i don't quite remember how i started watching your videos specifically, but it was with your Omega Tree Of Doom *TM* i think. Your accent i think was what hooked me in back then. I watched on and off throughout you and the No Wings Club with you and Etho sharing a base, then i remember smiling and shouting "Well Deserved!!" (positively) when you announced going on a break for the first time ever. I never watched season nine (life yk? and then i was bored of the "BIG BIG MASSIVE BASE AND LOREEE" formula all the other hermits i watched had) However, i did get hooked on your Vault hunters series' (single player, multiplayer server, and hermit crossover series) and tried my hardest to catch every stream i could. I'll never have the mental bandwidth to handle playing the Vault Hunters modpack myself, but ill happily enjoy watching you Kiwi & Greed your way through vaults! I love your humor and nowadays i find myself every morning getting up early so i can watch something of yours before others in my living space wake up as i make and have breakfast, be it a Vodskall on TH-cam or Twitch i missed or a new Episode on your main. (its like my "Saturday morning Cartoons" XD) The more "uncut" and behind the scenes content is like a bubble of air at the bottom of a sea of Picture Perfect Storyline Cuts. Have fun Creating, be it a minecraft mod, builds, videos, anything, it will show and shine through in whatever you make. i hope you have an amazing year and continue to have fun, ill be sticking around no matter the direction you decide to take in your videos. #NeverEverLeaving
Ren's comment about your build being about Borderlands is so underrated. The chaotic use of colors, the breaking of all the rules of building and the anarchy are the definition of Borderlands. You being yourself and doing what you want is fitting so well, too. You worry about lore? You got lore right there, you're fricking Vault Hunter!
What you are doing is showing people the process of a creative mind. Many other builders hide that part and is just showing a timelaps of building the result. As an artist I recognize how you try out colors and shapes, testing and seeing what works. The lore for your build is the process. Great success!!!
I'm not normally a commenter (on anything really) but your videos have helped me tremendous amounts with building. I used to see this amazing builds and I was just so convinced that in order to have anything good everything needed to be planned. It stopped being fun! But watching you I've realized building isn't just about the final product, it's about having fun and winging it IS fun. Some people just want you to fit into the mold left by others but in reality part of the reason why so many people love your videos is because you mess up, you wing it, and you show us these parts!! Keep up doing whatever you want or feel like and there will be people (like myself) who will continue to watch, enjoy, take inspiration, and learn from you!
Honestly Iskall, I've been adoring this season and your builds. Seeing your very impromptu use of color and gradients has been very inspiring. I feel as though I'm learning along with you and it's making me a better minecrafter. So, thank you!
I personally love this build and how it's coming together, it's an assortment of shapes of colors sure, but it all works very well, and it's one of my favorite builds this season, it's GOATed
I am loving this build. I honestly don’t understand why anyone would say it‘s not good. I‘m a builder and an artist outside of Minecraft and I‘d say I have a pretty good eye for composition and color theory (being able to execute it is a different story lol). I think you‘re doing really well with this build. I like your emotional approach, it looks almost like an abstract painting. But you can still tell what the overall structures are supposed to be. I don‘t think it looks funny, I genuinely think it’s a beautiful build.
I personally really like what you’re doing with the cylinder and the other buildings. The different colors and styles work really well. Keep up the great work and make what you wanna make ❤
Last episode, I was also thinking about a pipe coming out of the cyan building from where the windows are instead. You can even keep the "leak" look on the same spot.
I love the aesthetic. It feels like a factory that started small and grew, but never quite made enough money to relocate or rebuild or even keep up on maintenance. Places like this are always so interesting IRL. Most are maze inside with hidden areas that only the old workers remember. Keep it up! Im loving this season!
The first time i have seen you is in one of the grian's video in season 7 and he showed me your omega tree and i was like damn this guy builds are like out of the world, then i went to check your videos and was like damn not only this guy is talented,he is also hilarious and was hooked up to your videos ever since and last season you didnt play much (except when u just logged in just to contribute to covering doc's perimeter lmao) i was kinda sad but seeing you this season made me much happy not to mention you interacting with other hermits and messing with them and trying out different things its very nice,if i had the chance to choose omega build iskall or this iskall i would choose this iskall in a heartbeat. So,keep having fun cuz i am already having fun.
I think you're one of the most genuine hermits, and that's something I really admire about you. You stay true to yourself, no matter what. This season especially. The people who don't like your style are loud, but a minority. Honestly, I really love the buildings, they look great. Trust the process, guys. Never ever leaving
I have to say that your build this season is one of my favourites of Hermitcraft history. It's really colourful aswell as dark and grimy in a very cool way. Anyone saying you can't build is completely out cycling (non-swedes; don't worry about it).
Very exited for the green one also I don’t think skizz is gonna be able to stock mangrove I think the permit office is gonna need to get involved if the server wants a reliable supply of mangrove.
Iskall, the amount of detail on your buildings is great as it is. Is has become normal to put details in every block, but that really makes it hard to look at a big build. It is just overwhelming. Your way of adding gradients (the rust, the leaks) and a few details (the fan is really good, because it is easily recognizeable and instantly appears to make sense) make the buildings interesting to look at, without feeling overwhelmed.
Season 10 has been my fav season so far. You made a comment about a comment in a recent video about mega builds and viewer expectations. I would much rather watch you and stress troll the neighborhood with a random portal than watch you try and finish a giant tree base by yourself. I like how a lot of the hermits are just building as they go. Some of the hermits still have no wings. It feels a lot more like a bunch of people playing a video game together, rather than this elite server filled with nothing but builds that were only designed for the thumbnail.
I think it would look cool if that leaking part that looks like a mouth had a rainbow/"rainbowy" liquid flowing out of it and that flowed downwards, thus spilling into False's river, like you are disponsing waste on it
I hate everything about this build, but in a good way, if that makes sense. 😅 Like, everything about it is nasty, but Iskall has done such a fantastic job making it look believable. If it didn't look utterly disgusting (leaks, rust, peeling paint, and now mould), it wouldn't be as good.
Your base reminds me of modern art, like Riopelle works : you break the "rules" of what's considered beauty in Minecraft to make something you enjoy doing. It's so inspiring to me, just building something because you want to without thinking "I have to make plans for an omega mega base" ! Love your videos as always
Exactly what I was thinking! The process seems to be somewhat Picassian to me in a way, and I love it so much. It’s giving me Nietzche’s child… stage? Idk how to call it, but that childlike wonder and will to just create without bending to rules, just because it feels nice and there’s a joy to doing things that way. I’m all here for it!
Man, I’m a background artist and I’m loving your base and your creative process. It’s slightly Picassian, in a way! It’s a delight seeing how you are focusing on the basics of how to make something aesthetically interesting and experimenting and learning something new with each part of the build. You’re not getting tangled in the details or in trying to make the whole thing be completely coherent, you’re finding the key for every style/color and that’s way more important in the long run than coherence, because it’s helping you find new tools to work with and elevate your own style. This is what any artist must do sooner or later to find their own voice, and it’s ludicrous to think other Minecraft builders haven’t done this behind the scenes. Build for yourself, Iskall, because anyone can build for those people who ask you to do things one way or another, but no one else can build for you.
You can make some indent too so that it looks like weathered and falling apart. Add some bent chains to look like rebar. Some rubbish on the ground like a chunk of the building fell down and nobody cleaned it.
iskall you're absolutely incredible at this game and general watchers are way too hard on you. i hope oneday you'll be able to be your authentic self without shame 24 hours a day, every day. ILY
mr iskall, not every block you place has to be placed with very careful thought and deliberation. not every building has to be good looking. you'll burn out very quick by building this way. also try to build from the top down (frame and shape first, before details) instead of doing things from the bottoms up
I think were getting to watch iskalls journey into not giving a fudge what people think about his builds, and hes going to come out the other side a better builder then he's ever been because of it.
I actually really like your build. i think it's unique and shows the value of trying interesting color combinations and shape variation. i know i'm just one guy, but i really like it.
What? I can't believe people are saying you're build is bad or that you're not a builder. I absolutely love every build so far and think you're an amazing builder! Your build style is just up my alley! Keep up the great work, love the content and i hope you can just have fun and ignore the mean comments
You should also start thinking about merging the buildings together. As in not keeping a harsh cut between the different blocks of each building. And into the ground as well. This way they won't look like the builds were just put there but rather as part of each other and the terrain.
2:22 It's out of stock because Doc keeps buying it to try and get the permit taken away from Skizz or duplicated or traded or whatever. So yeah Doc might end up with it as you were hoping a few seconds later but you'll have to pay in sand.
I absolutely love the base. This sense of freedom and simply building whatever as you go has this nostalgic feel. Its not just the feel of the base but it actually looks great.
The colour blending is amazing, it's like magic watching random blocks come together to make those colour gradients. This is going to end up as a huge mess of random objects that looks really strange from a distance but gets better the closer you look at it, It's going to be... interesting
I think the "take it slower this season" is best showcased with you. There is no issue with timelapsing an entire build but there is something interesting being able to see the progress. These buildings dont just show up. You get to see every step and design mistake and progress and I find it enjoyable.
The thing is i was not expecting good building in this season i was here because of iskalls intraction with other hermits and the pranks it is the peak content but the build even though tho it is chaos but it looks good and remember its not complete maybe once its all done it fits so well toghether take his build as an distopia build and then u will like it
Your build so far is really compelling to me - I can’t say exactly what it is, but I do love the experimenting and that things aren’t really conventional in colour combinations or shape. It might not have the polish of some of the other hermits (at least not at this stage) but I am enjoying your process just as much as theirs. S10 has so far been absolutely incredible with a number of you guys seeming to gear down a bit to enjoy things and hang out instead of forcing out a huge grind or mega build each episode. The content from you and the others just make me laugh so much since the season started so thank you, mr. Ice Cold 85!
I think your build is great and you're a good builder. The texturing looks really good epecially from afar. And I like the chill "emotional" way you are going about it, its kind of how I build too.
Iskall please don’t get down over what they think about your build. Honestly I’m terrible at branching out color wise when building so it’s awesome to me to see you having fun working with different styles. Keep it up
Lore wise there is a pretty good reason why the build looks how it does. It's a gunpowder factory, they can explode and what we are seeing is the different rebuilds over time. Wood is the first factory chronologically, because who builds a gunpowder factory out of wood? That didn't last. Then they built onto the remains of the wooden factory using stone, but the product had evolved into dynamite, so that didn't last too long either. Now we are seeing the modern materials they are some funny colours, but they are lasting.
I love the way the base is coming together so far, it's definitely one of my favorite bases this season, honestly maybe one of my favorite ever on hermitcraft
I absolutely love the wood building. It looks, I don't know, burnt or in shadow or something. I think the rusty wall could use some sort of stain or trail where the slime is dripping down. Honestly really loving the build so far.
22:57 are peak wallpaper material for sure Your rusty, moldy, and out or place color of your build is one of the best im see so far. And your thoughts possess when you build and red stone are so enjoyable. Hope to see more of this in your next video
a nether portal hanging from an arch facing stresses base, also an idea, take a random key word/block pallet/function from three other hermits for a section to be added to the base
Iskalls base will just be a realy komplex modern artpiece an I am here for every step of the creation. I think the way he discribes his thought process is realy engaging and entertaining.
Doing new things which are a bit out of our comfort zone is how we pick up new skills. Thus, I'm all for it. Experimentation, doing things on the spot, improvising, chaos, lack of plans. It's made your videos some of the most interesting to me thus far this hermitcraft season. I can get my fill of widely regarded as pretty buildings wherever.
Hey, Iskall! I (and I think most of us) watch your videos for YOU. What is YOU currently is learning to build more fancily, and we love it. The people who call it 'bad' are comparing you to people like Grian or Bdubs who are professional builders, whereas you are not YET, but seem to be well on your way.
Regarding the yellow girder/bars getting worn first, it depends on its use. If it's getting banged about, sure. If it's just weather, not so much; the weathering happens where water gathers, which *isn't* on the outer bars, but where recesses happen. I like your building, I find it inspiring and interesting!
I think this build is really cool, its unique. I like that it is something completely different from just a big normal looking house. I like the funky, surrealistic design
I like the base, and especially the cyan and yellow together! Id also love it if the yellow cube was made into another shipping container, maybe standing on thin stilts on one side on a stumpy round building. Embrace the clash in every form: shape, height, colour, texture - but make every individual thing look good or in this case: well run down.
You can build, and it's so apparent that when you do what makes you happy, it makes your videos more enjoyable, I'm loving you this season, keep doing you.
i’ve been watching you since the end of hermitcraft season 4. never once did i think you weren’t a builder. a lot of the reason i build the way i do now is because of you. i love the way you texturize and i just love how authentic you are. these builds are fantastic and im sorry people can’t see that. it makes me sad that you think you’re a bad builder because i think you’re fantastic and i learned a lot from you also, one of the things i didn’t like about the previous seasons of hermitcraft, season 8 specifically, was how lore heavy and story driven the whole season was. it was hard to come in the middle and just enjoy some nice minecraft and interactions with the hermits without story being in the middle of it
I’m really enjoying what you’re doing this season dude. Your builds and interactions are a great mix and I think the balance is just right. Love both the episodes and BTS. You do lore just fine and I hope you get something good out of the experience.
I thought about a video Iskall posted the other day, and I want to try and summarize my thoughts the best I can. Iskall, is probably the only hermit barring one or two I don't want to see a building time lapse from. When most hermits build they go into this sorta zen, it is fun but its quiet and requires a lot of inner thought. With people like Iskall, JoeHills and X the process, the journey is the best part. Sure his builds are immaculate and creative but the major part of the fun is hearing his ramblings and excitement over his process. So I ask of Iskall, not to never change but to keep evolving. What you do and more so HOW you do is a gift. The joy your imagination brings gives life. Don't let people telling you you're building too slow. You're being the best damn Iskall you can be and I'm excited at how much more Iskall you can grow to be. Love from MN
Don't listen, all of your building this season has been great. They're not wrong about the way paint would wear off exposed bits first, but otherwise it's great.
Since Season 6, I have always thought of you as a great builder and Redstoner. With that said, I'm enjoying your base. It's like an old city where new buildings are built on top of another building like Kowloon Walled City.
This season has been very fun, the facades look very ramdom punk 😅 , you can add all the ramdom strange blocks like smiting table, grindstone, anvils, crafters, etc.
Something about the big blue cylinder and the abstract red / brown buildings way up at the roof level reminds me of the old British Steel buildings at Ravenscraig and Gartcosh. They were mind bogglingly large and utterly dominated the skyline. As you got closer to them you could see the rust and dirt that'd washed down them. Yep, very 'Ravenscraig' :)
Dude i think your base is turning out really nice. It’s been entertaining to watch too. You’re taking us on the journey of how you make everything rather than just getting it all done in one go.
I'm really enjoying the creative building style. I see the yellow as coming from the windows as though it's venting something that's leaving residue on the building
i like the idea that since all the paint is chipping away at some point this build would have been brightly painted with all of these colors in solid blocks
It's called "wood siding" in the U.S. I liked the red at the top, I thought it looked good! You should add air-conditioning units in the windows of the cylinder. A few ideas/suggestions: 1. We call it wood siding on a house, and I lived in one once that was stucco on three sides and siding on only the front. It's not uncommon. 2. For the windows on the cylinder, Google pictures of 70's apartment buildings in New York or Chicago and such. People would have these bulky air-conditioning units hanging out the window and the condensation would often drip from them staining the wall. It would add some variation to the structure and if you made the top half glass (like the window) you can still have a view/let some light in.
I love the yellow build, the cyan build, the new wood build. I love it all! I think you are a good builder and I like that you are trying new things and enjoying yourself
I love your cylander, I also see the Day of the Tentacle, but in the best kind of way 💚 please continue this awesomeness! Borderlands/dystopia/learning as you go... I love it so much
This has been one of my favorite seasons of yours and all of your episodes are a priority watch for me, simply because it's so easy to tell how much fun you've been having experimenting and trying out such a new/different/challenging building style. Lots of people can make cool things but not everyone can be so entertaining while doing it!! Just my two cents :)
One of the reasons I started watching you Iskall, was how good your buildings looked! Amazing colors and style in everything you do. Keep following your chaotic heart, keep building what you want to build
I personally like your style of building iskall. I also like other hermits styles. I just like seeing whatever you all think of. Keep doing what you’re doing.
I've been loving your build progress lately! As for why people have been suggesting purple, that's probably because it's yellow's complementary color, and you just added a large yellow section

23:15 having a crane diagonaly on the yellow building picking up the container would be really cool once and if you move into the base.
Skizz is constantly out of mangrove because Doc is buying him out on purpose as soon as he restocks it. Talk to him directly maybe?
(first ever comment on your videos, i don't usually do comments in general)
Your buildings this season have inspired me to pick up the game again after getting so immensely burnt out on it and trying something new by trying my hand at gradients (which i've noticed to be your Maxed Out Skill of Doom, like how terraforming is for Scar, or armor stands is for Zombiecleo) You are an amazing builder, don't let the haters worm their way in and tell you otherwise.
12 bamboo. 12 apartments. 12 villages. Tommy Carrot. It’s all connected
What you are doing is showing people the process of a creative mind. Many other builders hide that part and is just showing a timelaps of building the result.
As an artist I recognize how you try out colors and shapes, testing and seeing what works. The lore for your build is the process. Great success!!!
Glow lichen is a great texturing tool, you can use it to blend any colour into gray
also with added lighting benefits
1:30
Sir!!
Impulse would like to have a word with you.....
I feel like Iskall's base is going to end up like if classic Scandinavian houses became a factory.
Iskall is definitely my favorite hermit, he feels really authentic and his content is so much fun
I think it would look cool if that leaking part that looks like a mouth had a rainbow/"rainbowy" liquid flowing out of it and that flowed downwards, thus spilling into False's river, like you are disponsing waste on it
Oooh
Really enjoying ur pov this season.
Dude I didn't even watch hermitcraft before this but I really enjoy your content. Your personality does everything.
Dude iskall your build looks amazing, the texture work is omega!! Keep doing your thing!!
You can make some indent too so that it looks like weathered and falling apart. Add some bent chains to look like rebar.
Some rubbish on the ground like a chunk of the building fell down and nobody cleaned it.
Oh! I like the chunks on the ground idea. Especially for some of the rust, like it flaked away, but was too heavy to blow away on its own.
iskall you're absolutely incredible at this game and general watchers are way too hard on you. i hope oneday you'll be able to be your authentic self without shame 24 hours a day, every day. ILY
mr iskall, not every block you place has to be placed with very careful thought and deliberation. not every building has to be good looking. you'll burn out very quick by building this way. also try to build from the top down (frame and shape first, before details) instead of doing things from the bottoms up
Great tip. Thank you. Will have to try that myself.
Iskall build a 60 block tall nob on top will finish the base off
You should also start thinking about merging the buildings together. As in not keeping a harsh cut between the different blocks of each building.
And into the ground as well.
This way they won't look like the builds were just put there but rather as part of each other and the terrain.
I think this, plus detailing on the stone is what will turn it from a “not bad” base to a good/great looking base
How can you watch an entire Iskall episode, watch how amazing this build looks, and still comment his build is shit?
Iskall your video quality is the highest among any episode of hermitcraft I've seen from you! Keep up the good work, it is clear you are enjoying it!
Im really loving how busy and alive this base is turning out, with all the colours and how everything is built on top of itself. Its really cool.
Keep it up
I think what they mean by wires are the iron bars that are exposed after breaking a concrete wall. Really love the build though keep it up
~I love the base because it's the most Iskall thing you've ever built, in my opinion. You're having fun and you're making chaos and that's all I want.
22:57 are peak wallpaper material for sure
Your rusty, moldy, and out or place color of your build is one of the best im see so far.
You can build, and it's so apparent that when you do what makes you happy, it makes your videos more enjoyable, I'm loving you this season, keep doing you.
i’ve been watching you since the end of hermitcraft season 4. never once did i think you weren’t a builder. a lot of the reason i build the way i do now is because of you. i love the way you texturize and i just love how authentic you are. these builds are fantastic and im sorry people can’t see that. it makes me sad that you think you’re a bad builder because i think you’re fantastic and i learned a lot from you also, one of the things i didn’t like about the previous seasons of hermitcraft, season 8 specifically, was how lore heavy and story driven the whole season was. it was hard to come in the middle and just enjoy some nice minecraft and interactions with the hermits without story being in the middle of it
You do not suck at lore.
You ARE the lore! Embrace the Iskall man.
This season has been very fun, the facades look very ramdom punk 😅 , you can add all the ramdom strange blocks like smiting table, grindstone, anvils, crafters, etc.
it would be funny to add a massive crane to lift your container on top of the roof, and still be living out of it when it is in mid air :P
Dude,, your' build instincts are spot on. You are so awesome.
I'm really enjoying the creative building style. I see the yellow as coming from the windows as though it's venting something that's leaving residue on the building
i like the idea that since all the paint is chipping away at some point this build would have been brightly painted with all of these colors in solid blocks
2:14 Veneer or facade. In the US wood panels is a very early 70’s interior look.
It's called "wood siding" in the U.S. I liked the red at the top, I thought it looked good! You should add air-conditioning units in the windows of the cylinder.
A few ideas/suggestions:
I actually really like this build. It is a lot of fun and very creative. Wouldn't be watching your videos if I didn't like what you are making.
I've been loving your build progress lately! As for why people have been suggesting purple, that's probably because it's yellow's complementary color, and you just added a large yellow section
I fell asleep near the beginning of this stream and woke up to xisumas voice, very jarring
