- Laura at Grace Cathedral, San Francisco on June 29, 2012. I had not heard this "very, very new" song before and now believe it is the first time she's played it. I love it. This shows off Grace Cathedral's eight second echo and wondrous acoustics.
Laura declaims that she hates it when musicians play new songs at a gig. For me it's a joy when I get to hear a talented singer/songwriter introduce a new work, especially when it is so fine.
@1:30 I love how Laura's face show how hard she is concentrating of her guitar work. Also the lyric "...Maybe I like pleasure/pain..." moves me.
Great concert.

the thing with laura is that she can play new songs as much as she wants because u only need to hear it one time to fall in love with it.
This is really one of her absolute best songs ever (tough competition!). Wish it was still in her set list.
Gorgeous...
(the song and her)
the melody is really beautiful, so are the lyrics
I get chills every time I hear this version..the echo of the cathedral in haunting.
She's become an incredible guitarist. The fullness and clarity of sound she gets out of an acoustic guitar is just amazing. Gorgeous song. Thanks so much for sharing it.
I am so pleased that she shares her music with us. Honestly, she's the only thing I can listen to whatever my mood. She just brings me another place. Love!
Beautiful guitar, beautiful song, beautiful Laura, beautiful everything!
this new album will be awsome!
I was at this performance and I have to say to this day it was the best experience of my life.
I LOVED the acoustics.
Just when you think she can't get any better...
Love it!
Her voice gives me shivers in some parts. Beautiful new song.
This is such a beautiful song it's on my head all day! The echos just make it that much better.
thank you so much for posting!
Amazing!
Thanks for uploading :)
Couldn't agree more, she says this herself in an interview with the BBC.
Wow🎉
Thanks for posting !! she's growing so fast... like a wonderful flower.
It's so amazing how much she has improved. gah
such a beautiful song! also great video, thank you for sharing with us!
well she knows how to play it good!!
thank you for sharing this. I got to see her live in Chicago a couple weeks before you, and I absolutely adore her.
I agree! I heard her earlier stuff, and liked it, but haven't listened to her in a while - now hearing her new music, I hear such improvement in her skill level, especially the guitar playing. Seems she's not content to sit still, but is learning and developing - how wonderful is that? And she's so young still too, I bet she's got an amazing career ahead of her.
Oh Rosie,
The new album was announced earlier this morning. This song is called 'Little Bird'.
I love how her voice reverberates across the cathedral. In fact, if this was the version on the album, I wouldn't mind.
Thanks for the reply. Of course we love to hear new songs. If it's a concert of someone I only know from the past, then hearing only songs I've never heard then I might not be satisfied. But Laura is adamant about this. Peace
That's cool. My name is Rosie and my sisters name is Laura.
This is amazing. I think this is the first time she's played this. Thanks for posting!
In all of her live performances Laura says how she hates when people play new songs but she does it anyway.... We all know she secretly LOVES it
Hey Victor, I guess it's a matter of taste or you had to be there, but I think Grace Cathedral is a marvelous musical venue.
Hopefully this'll be "Little Bird" on her new CD!
Now imagine that leg doesn't belong to Laura - it is just a leg that she found backstage & she is playing with it on her lap & it is enjoying the music. Watch the performance again.
Look at Laura's face at 1:26 - 1:31
I find it hilarious when she talks about how annoying it is to have people play new songs at gigs - that's my favourite part when I see her!
Do you think she'll do that forever? I think its getting a bit old . .
I assume the song is named " Little Bird"
tuning? :)
No of course not playing new songs silly! I was replying to somebody's comment about her same old banter . . .
Do what forever, playing new songs? How can playing new songs get old? And if anything, it's not something only she does anyway. I'm not quite sure what you mean.
sometimes i feel like her leg is someone elses :P
I for one don't like the acoustics of this house. It is a shame to subject her voice to this echo chamber. I want to hear a studio version. It may be yet another huge hit from her, but the echo here is irritating.
